Installed Jelly Bean this afternoon and so far so good.
However, Light Flow keeps crashing, so I can't use it. I've followed all instructions, restarted, removed and reinstalled but still no luck.
Anyone else having the problem, or know of an alternative?
I only need it for Gmail and Handcent SMS.
It's not Jelly Bean - it looks like the latest update to Gmail caused it.

Ah ha, good point. I just assumed it was the update to JB, but you're right, Gmail updated pretty much straight away afterwards aswell.
In that case, hopefully the lightflow guys will be on it pretty quick...

I've just installed 3.5.2LITE and still having the same issue?
What version are you running and is it fixed for you?
I've just checked back on Play and fix in the next few hours, so I'll give it a look in the morning.
Thanks for the pointer though

You'll need 3.6.0 to show in the play store.
Manic evening for me with over 10000 emails in 5 hours!

Great, thanks for fixing so quickly and that's quite a few emails
One minor issue, I'm unable to change or the settings for 'Google Now'. If I click on it, it does nothing?

I'm still running the free version at the moment and getting no notification for Gmail?
I'm also still unable to change anything for 'Google Now'?
Can anyone else do anything with 'Google Now', or is it just me?
I've updated to JB but don't have a app called Google Now, am I better leaving the phone as is?

I don't appear to have an app as Google Now in my drawer, but it's showing in Light Flow?
You start google now by holding the home softkey on the display and move your finger up to the magnifier.
Tip: Don't even try it out, let it disabled. Your phone will have ~30% less runtime when it's activated.

Yeah, I stumbled across it that way aswell and it's disabled, as I've no intention of using it.
I just wish I could also uninstall 'SmartAction', but that's another story for another thread, as keen to get my LED notifications working first.
Thanks for the Google now I'm leaving it as well

Ah well, not just me then. I dropped the developer a mail, I guess he's probably sleeping after spending the previous night fixing the crashing problem caused by the gmail update.

You can't uninstall SmartAction but you can disable it go going into settings\apps\all apps, find SmartAction and click on the disable button at the top right.

If you're rooted maybe, but you can't if you're not. The only option is to uninstall updates.
New version of Lightflow (3.6.1) in the Play Store that is supposed to fix the problem with Gmail notifications.
Still doesn't show Gmail notifications via the LED on my phone though.

Quick update - I've been in touch with the developer and he suggested the following, which worked with the latest version (3.6.1) for me:
Go into lightflow->notifications gmail, select the gmail label you want (disable and enable it if already enabled) and see if that works.
I factory reset my phone and when going to install the high quality voice, I noticed it is missing. I've uninstalled and reinstalled TTS but it's still gone. Anyone else experience this?
I figured it out. I had to uninstall the latest update for Google TTS and install the high quality voice and then reinstall the Google TTS. Weird workaround that's for sure.

Thank you for this - been trying to figure it out myself. Maybe they're phasing it out (making it default?).

Possibly but I'd say no. 224mb is a bit for some budget phones to handle unless there was a way to move it to SD. I wonder if it's missing in kit Kat. If not chalk it up to another lollipop bug.

After updating I think the high quality voice is still better. I only tested it with the listen to a sample feature to test it.

Hi,
Go to Google app>Settings>Voice>OK Google> Disable OK Google recognition on any screen. This happens after the latest Google app update and it should be addressed in future updates.
Cheers
Anyone know when we will get the new Google assistant that just debuted on the Google pixel announcement? I can't wait to use the lens features.

Should be, the Google Assistant app on Play Store basically just a shortcut so almost every phone can download to use GA now, and it won't work without internet connection, all the functionality is stored on Google side not on the phone itself.
On Android 10, there are some microphone issues seen on custom ROMs. I've used myself Evolution X 4.0 and saw it.
The problem is for sure not hardware related. The problem stops at some point after a reboot. When the microphone stops working again, it only gets fixed after a reboot.
I see a lot of people trying to fix that issue but no luck...
Usually, the microphone problems are:
• No voice message output on Facebook messenger
• No phone call capability
• Maybe more issues I've not found out yet
THIS FIX IS ONLY FOR SOFTWARE ISSUES WITH MICROPHONE. IT WON'T WORK IF IT IS A HARDWARE RELATED PROBLEM.
Instructions:
Just flash the zip using Magisk Manager.
DO NOT use TWRP because the installation will fail!
Cheers!?

This is strange. Because you can always disable google app mic permission, and there are mic problems in custom roms for our device and disabling google app mic permission fix the mic problem.
Try disabling using root or ask the rom developer for a fix. AFAIK disabling mic permission to google app will solve mic problem.

disable "ok google" in google home and you're good
Some ROMs have Google built in and you can't modify it's permissions. You'll have to find a way to delete it or use a different ROM.
Hi there. Any news about this fix? I resolved disabling "ok Google" in Google home but for me is important to have that enabled. May be some Android 9 rom can solve problem? Actually I have pixel experience Android 10 and mic random doesn't work. Thanks

Disabling microphone permission for the Google app, or switching off 'Hey Google' detection, stops the microphone working completely.
I'm on crDroid 6.3 with no GApps and I have the issue that the Mic is extremely loud for Instagram Live and other inApp recording. This is probably not related to this issue here?

Me too. Pixel Experience ROM for Redmi Note 7 (Lavender) has an issue where microphone does not work for Google's Recorder app. This module patch did not work, the issue still persists!
I am very frustrated, as this is only one issue out of many that @letsmakecakes definitely knows exists but (I assume) has trouble fixing. I am not sure if the language barrier between me and a lot of users on the XDA forums is making it harder to communicate my issues, as some have difficulty communicating in English.
