Don't Forget to Press THANKS Button.
It works fine on PureXT based on stock rom, thank you very much
Does it work on stock (rooted) 4.1.2 rom? And does it make the navigation bar any smaller or it's still huge?
It should work if you do the steps like in OP. Don't think that will make it small

In KitKat settings we can see a new gray bar at the top, but this doesnt apply to other applications that use the android framework to show his interface, so with this minimod you can get that ..

And more...
If you edit build.prop then delta updates will crash .
You don't need to mess with the build.prop for transparency. Just enable Developer Options by tapping on Build Number 7-8 times then go to Settings > Performance > Tick Force High End Graphics. That is all you need to do. Just reboot to see the effect.
Thank you

Just found a way to enjoy all themes with stock icon's, and no root needed!
A lot of themes are almost perfect and missing 1 thing, stock icon's!
All you need is this Galaxy care app.
https://mega.nz/#!ggZnWTDD!Ba4iPQ_xk8mkV4VtERkbixzbzlG18mYGiJj8grmQiAI
1. Open the app and swipe 2 times to the left and select details.
2. Now select the themes ( all ending with appicon ) and delete them.
3. After delete restart your phone and enjoy your theme whit stock icon's.
4. Don't update this app true the playstore otherwise it will not work anymore.
Enjoy!
