Strange. When I click on the "Software" link on that page it shows me only Kies 1.5.3. But on the "Phone SW Update" link it shows me New PC Studio (NPS 1.4.0IL2)!
Done with work. Off home to try it now, will post again in an hour or so.

Yeah... You'll have to goto "Phone SW Update" first...

Downloaded NPS, but it does not recognize my Galaxy S at all. Tried all USB modes, Samsung Kies mode, USB debugging mode, but no luck. Has anyone succeeded in getting their phone recognized?

that's as far as it goes
most of the other features are not fully functional yet
but it works flawlessly at being detected almost right away, and shows up with the content of your Internal + external SDs
looking forward to it being fully supported.
just like back then with Kies, it just barely supported the I9000 when it was new, most features in Kies were not working quite right until recently.... LOL not even now for some people still experiencing problems with Kies.

Well, it doesn't work for me. Gave me that "unregistered phone model" error that other people are also getting. I am on the 2.1 stock ROM (JG1, I think) that originally came with the phone (except for the Voodoo lag fix).

[Q] 1 phone but 2 device on playstore

Hi!
I use 1 sony ericsson xperia x8 since 2011 september. I used all of uploaded rom to xda forum. But after a rom installing (2011 nov 8) I get 2 devices in playstore and use the second device. And this device less compatable app include.
I tried to rewrite device codes on build.prop file but still the name changed..
What can I do to solve this problem?

Than both wouldn't be displayed on the market..
It might be that one ROM didn't have full compatibly with the gapps, which makes it so buggy it couldn't recognize your device, and thereas state it as a different phone.

It happens to me when I use Market Enabler.
And X8 on 2.1 is recognized as E15i and on ROMs its X8...

after i tried to flash with odin and it failed now am stuck with a black screen with mob and pc logo! and it wont boot!! now what???

1) Stuck on V20C. The official LG update utility says this is the most up-to-date version.
2) Have tried http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1442588
3) Have tried http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1480392
4) Have tried method on Cyanogenmod wiki.
Nothing worked. Is there a method that's confirmed to work for V20C out there, or have we just screwed up something? Attempting to eventually install Cyanogenmod.

indeed you can't downgrade using LG updater.. no problem, friend, here's your solution..

1. download the v10a firmware
2. install the firmware using SmartFlash Tool
3. root the v10a using blackjack
4. install ROM manager, and from there, install CWM
5. you can use the CWM recovery to install another custom ROM

Go here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1566532 by the end of it you'll have your version ready to flash and root at your will

We weren't aware that the methods for V20C and other V20 firmwares were interchangeable - after several failed attempts and several more perusals through XDA we were beginning to suspect that V20C was unrootable as nobody seemed to mention this version.
Glad we were wrong, now happily running CM7. Phone is reportedly much faster and responsive now. Thanks for the help!

Do you have any sound problem I mean distorted sound in cm7 in ear piece and is opposite party to whom you talk is getting your voice clear?

I own a LG Optimus 2X, on it is installed CM 7.2.0 and CWM 6.0. something ... How do I find out which bootloader i have, new or old?

If it's just cm7.2.0, you should be in the old boot loader....gb never had the new one....but when you enter the recovery....either cwm or twrp it should be the grey color LG logo

If you are on the stock GB ROM on the old bootloader, just update using the LG Update Tool available on the LG site.
If you are on a custom ROM on the old bootloader, use AIO toolkit option 7 to flash the official stock ROM. If you read the post in the AIO toolkit thread, the link to the ROM file (kdz) is given there too.
Either way, dont forget to first take a full backup of your device
