Hi, I'm running Extreme Debloat ROM for the past few months on my AT&T S5 and about 2 weeks ago, whenever I place my phone on the wireless charging pad, I song starts playing and will just continue to loop until I reboot the phone. I looked through the /system/media/audio folder and listened to everything there, but it's none of those files (including WirelessChargingStarted.ogg). If I mute the phone, then place it on the charger, then unmute the phone, there's no song.
Has anyone else experienced this? I've read a few other similar posts , but still no fix. Any thoughts or ideas would be welcome!
Thanks... Josh

You my friend are a savior! Thank you! Come to find out for whatever reason, my phone was looking for the sound WirelessChargingStarted.ogg in the folder called "ui" and that was missing. My folder of sounds is called "uiOFF" for whatever reason. Either way, I created a new folder, copied the sound there and all is good now!
Thank you again!

is there anyway to go back to 1.13.516 software? after the update ive been having bluetooth issues....seen here.
after the update i have a major problem......bluetooth resets the wireless radio.......whenever bluetooth is on my radio bars go to a red X then starts back up. The bluetooth also resets......it will do this about every 45 seconds if the bluetootb stays on......anyone else having this problem?.....btw this just started after the update BTW, ive done 3 hard reset hoping that was the issue but it wasnt....verizon CC suggests taking it to a retail store but i had going in there.....any suggestions
Doing a factory should do that as it should reset it to factor rom stored in bootloader. Then ignore the update.
However keep in mind they claim that the update helps fix the screen flicker issues.

ive gone 3 hard resets and it does not put it back to the original rom
Only way to do this is to wait for someone to post it, so far I have not been able to locate it, but eventually (hopefully soon enough) someone will post it.
You might try and go into recovery and do a factory reset from there, I was having some other troubles and found that doing it that way helped tremendously.

Yea i've done a factory wipe....didn't help
I need to do this too. I've only had my X for a short 12 hours, but this update has really hosed things up. I've notice:
- wireless causes imstability: (random reboots, slow response times, system and phone not responding to anything)
- connectivity issues: even in 3G areas web and market fail and need to be restarted. With 1x connectivity txt messages wont go through.
- general instability: screen unresponsive or buttons on screen looking as if they're presses but nothing happens. Cannot wake phone from standby.

So,i found that it was the exchange sync that was really hurting everything. I changed from push sync to every 15 min. I haven't tried wifi yet. But my battery life and overall speed have improved significantly.

Factory reset on any android phone does not change the ROM version.

Okay, first, I'm running aospMod 0.9.9.2 with gapps, but no DecaFuct. It's been happening over the past few days: I send SMS's, but I don't receive any (I know they were sent to me; I already contacted the person about it) and I tested with another phone. Nothing. Then, last night, I rebooted the phone, and receive like 18 notifications of SMS's from the day before. It's so annoying! I know I was sent one today, but never got it.
I have re-flashed aospMod, DecaFuct, and the 2.42.02.10.29 radio to no avail. Does anybody else have this problem? Thanks!
Andrew go to native message app then menu>settings>connection settings post a screen shot if you can if not list what it says. I'll try to help

Okay, I just started receiving my messages again, but they're all ones I should have received a while ago.
Update: As of a few minutes ago, I started receiving them on time again. I tested it with another phone, and my phone got the text almost instantaneously. However, could you stick around? I have a feeling it might start again. Thanks so much? Oh, and should I do anything with MmsZap?

ok so i got my htc one a couple of days ago and it sees to have a serious problem!
Basically the phone goes through stages of random vibrating every few mins to full on constant vibrating like there is a fan or motor buzzing in there. It even does it if the phone is switched off! Ive just had an episode of it vibrating no stop for 10 mins, didnt make a difference when i switched it off or when i factory reset it!
It seems to overheat or something and only stopped doing it after i had just left it for a while. I have tried to speak with htc about it but they were useless and had no suggestions what soever.
I really need some help here, i bought the phone privately and to all intense purposes it seemed like brand new

No cant exchange it, only option i might have if i cant get the problem ressolved on here would be to send it to htc for repair but can take up to 2 weeks.
when i got the phone it was still on 4.1 and told me update available to 4.2 so i did that. Thats all i have done , apart from unlocking it from 02 using a code.
its almost like on a computer when its being worked hard etc that you here the fan cut in, thats what it seems like except it sounds like the buzz you get when you first start the phone. sometimes it does this just once every few mins or so, other times it will start doing it and not stop...even when switched off.....everything else on the phone seems to work fine

Did the device get wet at some point? Sounds like a hardware problem if a factory reset didn't solve the problem.
There's a slight chance it could be a real bad app or an issue with the rom. Maybe running a stock RUU for your device if you can find it might help.
Pretty sure it hasent got wet .
Would be happy to put stock Rom back on it but not sure how I go about reflashing it .
Don't know if this normal or not but when I did a factory reset I thought the device would be wiped completely, all my pictures and videos etc however when I set it back up again I found some videos on there still that I had downloaded to the phone off the net.
Maybe it's not wiping itself correctly either?

Resetting the device should wipe everything and bring it to the same condition as new.
Go to settings>>Backup & Reset>>Reset phone>>now check "Erase all data", then tap "OK".
If that doesn't work, try to do a factory reset from the bootloader.

Factory reset will wipe the device but leave the contents of the sdcard untouched which explains why your vids are still there
Appreciate the help guys, thankyou
So, is there any benifit to wiping the device completely over and above what I've done allready?
Today the phone has just done the odd sudden vibration as if you were just booting up, around 5 times in total, nowhere near as bad as last night, don't know why that would be.
Would it be possible to reflash standard firmware?
Is so how would I do it. Phone is completley standard and was in 4.1 prior to the ota update to 4.2, could 4.2 be the problem?

I'd try it. You can back up your pics and music on your PC via HTC Sync first.
Ok so I have tried it but no joy
Still getting the random buzzing/vibration for no apparent reason.
Could it be a bug with the update to 4.2.2?
Can I go back to 4.1?
I'm at my witts end with this now

Don't think it's a bug with 4.2.2 but a hardware issue.
Couple of other things to try ; download "CID Getter" from the play store, run it and find out your device's CID number. Now search on Google or xda for the RUU for your device's CID number. Download the RUU.exe to your pc, connect your phone to the pc and run the RUU.exe. This will bring the phone back to stock 4.1..
Or you can unlock the bootloader and flash another rom. Step by step instructions can be found on xda
Sorry, don't know of any easy solutions.

ok so just to update this....
last night i have tried the standard google edition rom on my phone and for the first few hours all seemed fine untill 4am this morning when i was woked by the phone doing its random vibrating thing...it was just sat by the side of my bed on charge
Can only think it must be a hardware issue now...but still dont know what or what is triggering it

You tried everything so it's has to be a hardware issue. Maybe the vibration starts when the device gets warm. Sorry we couldn't fix it.

My HTC one has been doing the same thing. Vibrating randomly even when powered down. Brought it back to Sprint and had them order me a new phone. The only way to stop it from vibrating when powered down was to bang it on a hard surface, then it would stop. Crazy!
Vibrating non stop
My HTC One had been vibrating cotinuously too. I kept slapping the upper part of the phone to stop it from vibrating. However, this worked for the initial few days only. Later, it continued to vibrate continuously without stopping at all ! In the night I left the phone in the other room while it was still vibrating and the next morning the phone wouldn't charge at all! Now the phone is not booting/ charging. It is dead! Any leads?
EDIT: I slapped the upper part again, it suddenly woke up from the dead! It is charging now, the LED is red too!! But it is still continuously vibrating. I have left it to charge as of now, but please help with this vibrating problem. Any ideas?
I've had the same issue with my M7 today.
There were no software updates or any new apps lately.
It all emerged when i was pressing the home button (to exit from some app) and at the same time an incomming call started.
I have tried:
switching it off - did not help
Changing volume setting silent\vibe\sound a couple of times - no effect
Soft reset - no help
Hard reset - no help
Slapping with upper side of the phone against my had - helped for some time, the it started again
Seems like hardware issue.
Currently working solution for me:
Switch off the option "Vibrate on keypress" in Settings ==> Sound & notification
UPD: had to turn off all the vibrations
So far so good. Apparently there is some issue with vibe motor, and it just does not stop. I assume that by disabling that option it is not getting started and thus no constant vibe follows.
UPD 2 Fixed:
Issue reoccurred on hitting the device against my palm.
Had to disassemble it, there are a couple of instructions on youtube, i used plastic cards.
Motor was spinning even with a switched off device. Had to unplug and plug the motor a couple of times and it helped.
Turned on all vibrations in settings, no issues so far.
Hope that helps.
Hi,
This is my first post on any forum and I really apologize if i am doing something amiss but please consider my problem and let me know if there is something wrong that i am doing with my phone. I am not posting this on any specific forum cause i have tried the solutions provided already and i dont know where to put this one. I am from India and just got a Moto G (2nd Generation) 2 days ago and it immediately upgraded to Android 5.0.2 Lollipop through the wi-fi. The first upgrade had some issues causing the screen to freeze and go black. I called Motorola support and they asked me to do a factory reset post which things started off fine till yesterday morning when I tried customizing the ringtone. I have tried everything, every hint provided in this forum, in you-tube and in Motorola support forums and the call centre support but to no avail.
Things I have tried:
1. Placing the .mp3 file in the Ringtones folder in internal storage and selecting the same from settings-> sound and notification -> ringtones. The ringtone plays fine on selection but doesnt play when a call comes in. The phone just beeps.
2. I have tried renaming the file. There were no spaces in the filename before but still tried renaming it. Again the ringtone plays on selection but doesnt play when a call comes in. . The phone still beeps.
3. I have tried converting the mp3 file to ogg and then placing the same file in the Ringtones folder. Same result.
4. I used a File Explorer to go to the external storage, play the file through the bundled player and set as ringtone. It shows 'set successful' but the phone still beeps when a call comes in.
5. I finally called Motorola support. They first asked me to reset once again which I did and tried all the above again. Still no luck.
6. A second support person asked me to make a new 'Ringtone' folder in the internal storage and put the mp3 file there and try. Didnt help.
7. The final suggestion was to keep the phone in safe mode for 8 hours and then restart and try. When even this didnt help I thought of posting in this forum.
Also, I observed that all the old mp3 names (of my previous trials) still being listed in the list when browsed through Media Storage even if the old files are removed from the Ringtones location (this is persisting even after multiple restarts of the phone). Surprisingly, on selection it still plays. The list gets refreshed only if i do a factory reset. I tried doing a cache reset but was unable to go beyond the 'Android in Distress' screen. Pressing the Vol Up key for 10-15 secs and then tapping the power key doesnt do anything. I tried it for more than 8 times since the morning.:crying::crying:
Please note that all my mp3 are of high quality (256 to 320 kbps) and mostly >6 MB in size. I didn't see any limits on either so haven't tried toning them down. Should I?
Please let me know if there is something wrong that i am doing or something odd with the phone? My first ever mobile phone was a small, slim Motorola (12 years ago)and i really dont want to return this one.
Could you please help me out? Sorry for the long post but just wanted to make sure I didnt miss any details.
Hi
Thanks for writing to us at XDA Assist. I can't find anything on XDA relating to your specific, so I think it's best to ask the Moto G community if they can assist you. Please standby while we have your thread/question moved to the appropriate sub-forum for your device.
For future reference you can find your specific device forum here (bookmark/subscribe this):
Moto G (2014)
Within that section you will find a dedicated q&a sub-forum (this is where your thread is going to be moved to):

Did you perform the factory-reset from menu or from recovery?
Thanks for moving my thread appropriately.
I actually did a factory reset from inside the settings and not from the boot. It was as per the Motorola assistance personnel's advice. Should I do a reset from the boot?
I guess I offended the 'gods of mobiles' (Motorola and Google). .
My Nexus 5 which i gave to my sister in US, supposedly just took an upgrade to 5.1 and the best it does currently is restart every 20 minutes. My Motorola isn't that bad definitely but slightly annoying every time a call comes in.
The only one chugging along smooth till now is my good old S3.
Sorry, coming back to the point. I actually asked a Motorola US support person through my sister in US and he had a slightly different reply. He asked me to wait for a week with the phone (max 10 days was his words). The phone would work fine soon. He said there were some initial issues with the upgrades which iron out given some time. He just asked me to restart the phone a couple of times every day. If things didnt work out he said I could return the phone to the online site from where i got it or get it checked at a Motorola service centre for free.
I thought about it and i think i can wait for a few more days trying out other solutions.

When I got my SD after about a week it started disconnecting from my cars Bluetooth by it self. I did a factory reset which seemed to cure it. Now a month later it's started again this past weekend. I reset it again but this time it only worked for a day. Took yesterdays update, but it didn't help. It's still doing it. I know there's been other threads about this, but no real answers. Anyone have any more ideas on how to fix this correctly before I send it back?

Nope. And its not that I dont hear callers, it completely disconnects from the car stereo, only to reconnect again, a moment later, it will do this 2-5 times over 5 minutes or so.

I meant to ask if you have media turned off? My phones do this if I don't have both, phone and media, connected. I used to turn off media when I was using navigation cuz I couldn't hear the directions.. That's how I found out.

Did you ever get this problem fixed? I have been having the same problem connecting to my 2015 Mazda 3. It connects for about a minute or so and the disconnects and reconnects. If I get a phone call when this happens it causes some sound problems with my phone even after I leave my car. I can't hear phone calls through the speaker at all. I think it's a glitch with Bluetooth because when this happens and I press the volume up button, the Bluetooth volume is adjusted instead of the speaker volume (even if I turn Bluetooth off). The only way to fix it is to reboot my phone.
I haven't installed any mods or rooted my phone. Bluetooth works fine for every other device I have tried, although they have been simple Bluetooth speakers and file transfers to my PC. This started after T-mobile sent the 5.1.1 update about a month ago. I hope I can find a fix soon because I can't use my car speaker phone anymore.
I had this problem when I updated my s6 to whatever update tmobile pushed into my device. I fixed it by hard resetting the phone. Others who have had this happen to them after updating their phone have done the same thing and fixed it.

Just traded in an S5 to take advantage of their current S6 promo...
I have been having the same issue, but basically from the moment I connected the S6. Connect, drop, connect, drop, connect... reset phone, connect, drop.
I have wiped caches, reinstalled apps, factor reset, etc...
I'm over it. The phone is nice and all, but returning it leaves me $50 poorer... and I don't have a phone now.
Functional bluetooth is a deal breaker for me, and I can't believe how many occurrences I found for this (... and it's edge variants) on various forums.
Total bummer... I can (and will) swap out for another one... but, not holding my breath.
I firmly believe this is an Android issue and not a Touchwiz/Samsung thing.
Was just reading that Nexus users getting Marshmallow are reporting BT connections issues out of nowhere...
Apple sucks. Android sucks. Windows 10 mobile sucks. I suck!!! and everything sucks. ;-P
