Is it possible to flash just the recovery image to my Samsung Galaxy S using Odin (or Heimdall)? Presumably I'd have adb shell root access on my phone when in recovery mode after that, without tainting the phone at all when it is running normally?

[Q] Replacing CWM Recovery with TWRP?

Hi!
installed cwm recovery on my xperia z (locked bootloader).
now, i want to try twrp recovery with its touch interface.
so my question is: how can i replace cwm recovery with twrp recovery? do i have to do some kind of "erase" (the cwm), or can i just install twrp like i don't have any recovery installed yet (= cwm will be overwritten)?
thanks for your help & wish you a nice day

[Q] Can't Install CWM Recovery on Xperia SP

I have this ROOTED XSP .205 with LOCKED bootloader and I was trying to install CWM recovery by following a procedure that was only for Locked Bootloader Xperia Sp but I couldn't install it.
First in the cmd it was giving
'can't find specific path'
Then I found out that I needed to extract that zip file to C: that I did and after that im getting,
'You've selected Xperia SP, let's go"
And it is stuck on that, getting nowhere.
Im a newbie so not have much idea if someone can help that'd be a life saviour, please.
Have u tried again after restarting the computer and phone??
I am also trying to do so but stuck on *daemon started successfully*
After that cmd window stuck there. So any one have answer please let me know.

Try flashing recovery .img file with Rashr
You can't install CWM Recovery without a CWM Rom , and I think you can't install locked bootloader on unlocked bootloader, I recommend use Flash Tools and Unlock your bootloader. And Flash a Kernel with TWRP Recovery and Wipe and Flash a CWM Rom (huashan ROM for Xperia SP) after it you get CWM Recovery and TWRP Recovery for extra I recommend use Helium Kernel to do it

I found installing XZDualRecovery very easy. You get TWRP, CWM and PhilZ.
-install supersu from play store
-activate usb debug in developer options
-unzip xzdualrecovery file
-run install program from the unzipped folder
-follow steps on the screen, you will have to grant supersu access on your phone at some point.

devices can't start; debug usb turn off , no custom recovery

after installed super su I reboot my devices but it block. with adb on my computer i have ? anauthorized and i have not a custom recovery, i am on lenovo k3 note. i want to install a cmw recovery but adb don't work and on my recovery i just have install uppdate.zip from sdcard 2. i think the sdcard2 insn't the my external memory card. and i have the official rom on my computer. how can i get authorized .?
need help please
I am a bit lost at what you are saying.
If you mean you screwed up your phone, download the official stock ROM and flash using SPF tool.
Once your phone is working again, try to root it using any of the preferred method. If you don't like typing codes using ADB, go for the Lenovo K3 Note Manager by Pr1nc3V.

Bootloop help asap

Hello i have succesfully bricked my S3 mini i8190n i flashed Lineage OS 14.1 thro odin then i got bootloop.I tried accessing the device through ADB and my phone reboots after i do adb reboot recovery or fastboot or bootloader or download , it still keeps showing the booting animation of LineageOS.So ADB recognizes but fastboot cant be acessed . Any help guys ?
dude this is why we are all using a custom recovery instead of odin while flashing a custom rom anyway If I were you, I flash the stock firmware and root it, and then flash a custom recovery (twrp recommended) and flash this rom
