[Q] HTC logo screen wont boot

I just got my HTC One less than a week ago and today it wanted to update to android software 4.3 I believe. I honestly dont know anymore cause I cant check. I downloaded the update and clicked install. It restarted and now has been stuck at the white HTC logo screen without quietly brilliant. It has been like that for almost 3 hours and actually died completely I plugged it up and let it charge and turned it back on and still stuck on this screen I even tried to factory reset with the power button volume down boot thing. Sorry im not smart with this stuff. When I did factory reset it went to a black screen with a green load logo then went back to this screen. Just made an account to post this someone please help. Thanks.

Did you have any mods installed? You can just boot to fastboot and flash an RUU to return to stock.

Stock as far as I know. I downloaded an app mobogenie to get flash player on my HTC One I dont think that would be the problem but I guess it could.

flash custom recovery

TWRP / Advanced / Sideload - swipe to sideload
From PC adb / fastboot folder

So before I do this is it smarter to just take the phone to a Sprint store or best buy where I got it and make them handle it before I unlock the bootlader?

So I went to best buy and got the new phone today. Its currently on android 4.1.2 Can you help me update it to the latest without me bricking it again?

Don't install any mods this time and update via OTA as normal
Make sure your boot loader status is locked and s on
I assume you don't want s-off?

Yeah you should be able to take the OTA no problem ... the first time was just bad luck i suppose. you should be fine

[Q] How do I convert a GPE to latest Developer Edition or Sense 6 rom

Thanks in advance for any help... I've searched and come up empty in terms of up-to-date stuff. I'm super-cid, unlocked bootloader, s-off (phone came that way off a private sale) with a RUU conversion to GPE. I want to take advantage of the sense 6 update especially the new battery saving mode. Really wondering weather:
1- downgrading firmware is still a thing coming from GPE and going to the latest Sense 6 roms
2- Weather I should use an RUU or try flashing a custom recovery and a wrong
3- Weather there's any other watch-outs I should know

Change your CID/MID accordingly for Dev edition and run the http://www.androidruu.com/getdownlo...3_SENSE50_MR_BrightstarUS_WWE_3.22.1540.1.exe
This will get you going all the way to Sense 6 with a few updates. Do not LOCK boot loader or turn S-ON

Thanks! I tried this and got an ruu fail. My phone was left in a weird version of the recovery/fastboot screen that said ruu but I rebooted and it was fine. Just not sure if I should try again.

Based on the google searches I've done, this is normal. The HTC RUU installation never actually finishes. You just need to wait until the progress bar stops moving, make a coffee, then reboot and hope you haven't just bricked the phone.

See above--what happened to him is normal.

Just to clarify it rebooted back into the previous (gpe) system. Flashing the ruu failed with a message about getting the correct one for my phone, which is odd because I am supercid and s-off.

Try going into fastboot and flashing a RUU, which is the best way to fix a problem like this.

Are you sure you're flashing a Sprint RUU?
Are you sure you're flashing a newer firmware than the firmware that's on your device? (this will only method to flash RUUs because you're S-ON)
You can also try to gain S-OFF using fastboot but your warranty may be void, but then you can flash old RUUs (for the Sprint variant only of course)
EDIT: Sorry for not answering your question properly... it doesn't matter if it's locked - it just has to be relocked.

1.Unlocked
2.flashed Custom rom
3.s-off
4.Then simlock
M done..
the only problem i face is.....
M unable to access...the Data of mobile network...in the actual speed
its..Damn slow....Slower than...GPRS on 6030
can u help me in fixing this...

Try downloading an application called Tweakker and using that to configure your APN settings.

It's an issue faced about lower internet speed than usual

Unlocked sprint htc one can only be used on GPRS/EDGE which is primitive tech in west but not in india... so if you are using 3G or airtel 4G it wont work...:good:

Oh, that sucks.. lol sorry I gave wrong information, I don't usually use GPRS/EDGE, normally wifi.
Although I am supposed to get 3G with Tata Docomo as it has UMTS 2100 band, which the phone supports according to the official HTC website.

its a good job your s-on because by the sounds of it, if you had of managed to flash that firmware then you would now have a nice new shiny brick, the error you got basically means, that firmware is not for your phone.

No you are not bricked, you are only bricked when your phone won't switch on at all.
If you are s-off then change your cid and mid and flash any ruu, you will have to match mid to the ruu you choose to flash, change cid to super cid which is 11111111 (8 x 1s)

Hide imei & serial number from that
There will be version main & cid find a ruu according to that @ htc1guru.com
Flash that ruu
If ruu not found then I will answer according to your situation

Your Phone is unlocked and S-Off and ist an HTC-Russia Version, not chinese.

Thats normal on an S-Off device with non modified firmeware. All firmewares without this wanring have a "_NoWarning" filename.
Here you´ll find a tutorial for all you need, there are more topics simluar at this. Be sure you use the actual firmeware.

You have linked a guide and a firmware for M7_UL variant. OP have a M7CDUG variant which is a totally different phone. If he flash this on his s-off phone, he will brick it.

no problem mate, sometimes some little details can make a huge difference, particularly when s-off
@antfield you should be able to update using the latest RUU for your phone model.

Download and rename the file PN071IMG.zip
Save it to the root of your external sd card and once done reboot your phone in bootloader mode by holding power and volume down buttons. Phone should start to flash the ruu automatically.
Note that flashing the RUU will wipe everything from your phone like if it was brand new so backup your important files before if any.
