Note 4 Cases
Hi I was wondering which case(s) should I get?, kind of want 2 different cases 1 slim bumper one and the other an strong bulky armor box one, because I want to feel the difference between slim vs bulky, also if they can be under $20 (seems like every case i found has like a shipping of $5). Any input would be appreciated thanks

Well it dropped in price yesterday for those two specific colors. Call it what you want. Pretty much all the pictures of these cases are renders at this point so what are you getting at? Spigen has a good track record for producing good cases.
That's true, both the Tough Armor Gunmetal and White Slim Armor dropped a few dollars according to camelcamel, and I'd choose that for a rugged case at that price. My previous tough armor has held up nicely.

The spigen cases wont tear. I have the slim armor on my note 3 and theres no damage. UAG cases are also good but they're still in production at the moment and wont be released in time.
Thanks for all the replies I went with the Slim Spidgen one for now and a full body one from SUPCASE later if nobody has anything better or anything later on

I am thinking hopefully get on or around the release date but hopefully no more then a week after release date... cause they also said if they get it on the 17th people can get it before the people who pre-order it... and you cant come in stores to get it if you pre-order it so kind of pissed on how that works...

yeah i guess the rearth case protects the corners better than the others right ? im talking about the nillkin cases (which is 50% cheaper ) , would need a better comparision though...
Hard to tell but does seem to be a bit better than the Nillkin. Not sure why it's so hard to make a slim case that covers the corners. I realize the stylus is there but they should be able to work around it.
The worst drops are the ones where the corner hits hard - almost always a crackled screen.
If you are buying a thin case like this, it's a foregone conclusion that you aren't looking for protection. I am not certain why people who don't own the case find the need to always point out its lack of top and bottom coverage, even though that's obvious from the pictures. I have bought a Rock case knowing this, to protect the back when sliding it on tables, putting it down in the car, etc. I have a separate case for protection, but these slim cases are not in that category.
To the OP, thx for the link.
I wonder why they mention 2 different models for the case. A int version and US version. Aren't the international and US version going to be the same?

The case is available now on Amazon http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Feeling-Premium-Verizon-Unlocked/dp/B009POUJ5S/ref=sr_1_1?ie=U
Looking at the pics the top at least appears to be better protected that the other eBay slim cases as the case appears to protect the corners (or at least one corner).
Hard to tell about the bottom of the phone though. Looks to protect the corners from the side views but there is no proper pic of the bottom of the phone in the case. If anyone does order appreciate some photos posted here.
Anyone try those Rock cases listed above?

I did order one in white. It is expected to arrive 30th Oct-2 Nov on the US. 31th Oct in Venezuela. (If arrives by the 30th)... if not, the case will have to stay at my US address for a while. So Ringke and Amazon better ship fast! Availability is the 29th but i have always have a good experience with Amazon.
I have sitting in my US address my unopened White Galaxy Note 2, Spigen Ultra Crystal and a Original Samsung Black Flip Cover. I expect the white Ringke will make it too in my hands the 31th. Will take some pics...
As i see it is just as the Ringke for Galaxy Nexus. Top and bottom should be exposed ...... corners semi protected.,...
It's not the most ideal protection, I'm more of a TPU person....
But so far the original flip case and the Rearth one would seem the better quality cases out there..., so far. To this date...
I also saw on Amazon the Elago... they seem to be the same as Rearth...., but in doubt picked Rearth from the brand as seeing their job on Galaxy Nexus cases.

?? I had the rearth for Galaxy Nexus. The phone is fully protected for drops - all corners and back are fully covered and sufficient lip to protect the screen in case of a light drop. You sure you had the rearth ringke? See the GNex pics at http://www.rearthusa.com/sprint_verizon_galaxy_nexus_slim.html
Used it for nearly a year and it was the perfect case for me which is why I'm such a fan. It even took more than a few drops with no damage to case or phone. I think the thick cases are overkill for normal day to day use IMHO. An ultra-slim like the rearth, as long as it protects all corners, is fine.
I'm really hoping the note 2 is similar to the nexus case. Looking forward to seeing your pics.
This looks like a good case just ordered it myself. Also grab this one if your interested.

On the rearth web site they now say available on amazon and ebay. Amazon doesn't ship outside the US. Trying to find the eBay seller but no luck so far. If anyone does find it appreciate a link.
I saw it on ebay already. Think it was rearth themselves and not a third party. Try typing them into a seller search.

I ordered the Poetic since it was $5 on Amazon and I like the Poetic case on my Galaxy Tab 2 7.0. I also ordered the official Samsung Protective Cover because of the 50% coupon off. I actually don't mind the thickness of the Poetic case but the lower right corner "lip" does not hold the phone tight enough. It needs to come up and over more like the front. However, it did not slip off the case while I was holding it upside down so the other 3 corners did a good enough job. The thing I like about the Poetic case is that when you snap the front cover shut, it will do a very good job of protecting the phone should it slip while you pull it out of your pocket. It does however, double the thickness of the phone.
The official Samsung case which is more like a TPU case also came in. It is very thin and I wish the front lip would rise a little higher to protect the front glass in case of a drop. Most of you might like it and think that it is thick enough. Anyway, I'll let the pictures speak for themselves.

I am still waiting for this case to come in. I returned the official flip cover case since it was too thin and offers no drop protection.
I linked to that last flip case in another thread. I really like the way they've used the raised corner protection on the case. It looks like it should protect the phone no matter what angle a fall might impact on.
I'm eager to hear what you make of it once you've received it, along with a few photos of it on the phone, especially how much higher the raised corners rise above the screen. Tia

I ordered the Poetic slimbook case that released today. All the Poetic slimbook cases get great reviews on youtube for other devices. 4.95? The price was so cheap, I thought it was a mistake. The slimbook case looks very similar to the 50 dollar flip cases that are more stylish. Crazy deal. The hardbacks like this white one are ok..kinda generic plain looking.

Let me know how that one works out. How secure it holds the phone and more importantly, is there any protection at the top of the phone. Makes me want to order another one but I already have 2 cases plus one more coming and I only have one phone!

Aquaholik, any further feedback on the Poetic case? Would you recommend it?
My main concern is the added bulk, how is it for fitting in the pocket? Also how easy for removing? I might use the case for home use (to protect if kids use), and a TPU case when I'm out and about.
I have one ordered one from Amazon, but can still cancel as not shipped yet.

It is very easy to remove. No problem going in and out of my pocket since I wear slack pants most of the time. Jean pocket, forget it. I am neutral on it. It was $5, a bit thick, looks plain but offer good protection. I lay it against a flat surface on every angle and don't see any gap in drop protection. The stock case is nice but this is a big phone with lots of glass and that mm of raised lip isn't going to protect the phone when drop face down on concrete. So I am putting all my hope on the Ebay case. When I am out and about, the phone will stay in the poetic case.

It's a cheap case that will protect your phone, but the quality of inner silicone shell is not that great. It's too stretchy and will pull around the sides, and it gets worth with time especially at the bottom where micro-usb connector is. Also because silicone is soft, buttons will be too easy to press accidentally. But what the heck, for this price - its a workable Seidio Active knock-off with a kickstand that won't make your phone as wobbly in landscape as Active Plus, you can put your finger through the kickstand opening as sort of a flygrip handle.
The best case ever. No extra bulk and feels good to the touch, a hard case but with a soft touch feel, comes with a kickstand too. Bought one for the wife's too. I usually dont use cases but this one is a keeper . Go try it edit- Comes with a belt clip too

originally bought 2 cheap case/holsters one of which is the cheap 3 part listed in the OP. First one broke, second(OP) as noted the soft rubber part doesn't fit well and it's too tight in the holster. Finally broke down today ad bought this one from BB. There is no comparison in quality, Everything on this case is worth the money.
For my past phones I've bought the Verizon kickstand holster case combos and I've loved them, but VZW didn't make one for the note2 and the cheap online ripoffs are crap. Spend the money, your Note 2 will thank you.
Got this one for $6 shipped on amazon, cut the volume side out to work with my OEM flip cover.

More pics in the post a pic of your case thread, and mybat jolt thread. Kickstand hinge and latch is a tad flimsy but I haven't had any issues yet, and I dropped my phone 42' from the 3rd floor roof of a house, landed face down on gnarly concrete and not a scratch. Luckily the flip cover flipped closed or the uneven concrete probably would have been able to make contact with the glass, which would have been a disaster.

It essentially Seidio SURFACE/BB Platinum with an extra layer of protection on top of it. Turn your original SURFACE into a new rugged case. But as a side comment, Surface is PITA to take off the phone lol!!!

Thats a little too insane for me since I dont drop my phone lol. But definitely a must have for those who require protection along with comfort (by that i mean the belt holster).

Hey Guys,
I have decided to just jump the gun and buy the Tech 21 D3O impact shell from the T-Mobile store. The case ended up be $10 and something cents. I bought it at the store and they gave me a 30% discount for checking into Foursquare otherwise the price of the case is $16.99 not including tax. The case can be purchased online at: http://www.t-mobile.com/accessories/lg-g2-d3o-impact-shell-smoke.html.
I currently own 2 cases including the case I have. I have this case and the Spigen Slim Armour. I love both of the cases but I do prefer this Tech 21 case. Both cases are well built and will definitely survive a fall. I have not dropped the case, but I feel like the technology behind the case will definitely protect it from a fall. I currently have the xtremeguard screen protector on the phone and the case does push the screen protector up, but the lip of the case covers more of the screen than the Spigen case so it doesn't have the problem as often. The case has an awesome feel to it. It has a matte feel and offers more grip that the Spigen. The case is also rounded so it doesn't feel like it is cutting into your hand. I personally bought the smoke version, but there is a purple version available. The case looks awesome with the orange bands going around the circumferance of the phone while the rest of the smoke color of the case allows you to see through the back to see the G2 symbol. I do own the AT&T D800 version and it has the cut out for the 2nd microphone on the back. The case feels like TPU with D3O that surround the phone.
Hopefully this everyone. If you are looking for a new case, IMHO this is a case to consider.
Here are the pictures that I was going to post.

Thanks for the review. I have thought about this case. How would you compare it to a tpu case. Looks like one except for the orange band which seems to be the D30 technology.
Also how thick and bulky is it in comparison to a tpu case.

It honestly feels like a TPU case with the D3O tech like you were saying. I don't own a TPU case for the G2 but I have had TPU cases in the past and this stuff feels a little more flexible but it still maintains its shape when it is on the phone. The case fits nicely and it looks good as well. The case actually doesn't add too much bulk. It keeps the shape of the phone and is slightly thicker than without a case. I feel like it is definitely not as "bulky" as the Spigen case as well. :good:

No problem! I wish I had the info before I bought it but I ended up trying it at the store and liked it. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do. And I definitely use this case more than the Spigen

I also had the Spigen Slim Armour as my first case for the G2. But I also got the Tech 21 case, and although I still like the Slim Armour case, the Tech 21 is better for me as the edges are more rounded and it's a little less bulky than the Slim Armour.
I keep my college ID card in the back of my current phone case, so I like cases that are easy to take on and off. Is this one easy to take on and off?

The case is easy to take off. But you might run into the problem of the case not fitting properly. The case is pretty tight on the phone, so the case might not be happy with you. I can try it out and see if I can get a picture for you.

Here are the pictures. The case is a little funky after the id is put in. It is definitely not meant to be there but it could potentially work. I put my school id and it is the side and thickness of a credit card. Hopefully this and the pictures help.

Thanks, I really appreciate it. Could you tell me how easy it is to take the card in and out of the case? Does the case come off easily without being dangerously loose?

I would say that the case is a little harder to take off. The card is also pretty snug in there. The case also barely hangs on too. The case definitely adds space between the case and phone.

I wish that they sold these somewhere other than T-Mobile.

Ya. I know what you mean. I drove 30 mins to get mine. But I don't use it too often because it pushes my screen protector up. But I still use it every once in a while.

At least you had the option. If you're not in the States or close to the border, good luck. I wish there was a way to get one.
Anybody knoe of any releases of the cases for the leather back option?
theres a clear plastic one that ive seen.
is there any other?
Almost didn't order the leather back for this reason of not finding a case. But when I saw T-Mobile having leather back for the same price as plastic back I ordered the leather. Ebay sells the leather back covers for like $60, so I figured that like saving $60.
But now I can't find a compatible clear case for the leather back either! Crap.
If anybody finds one leather compatible on Amazon.com please post it here!!
I ordered this one in green. It is compatible with leather back... So it says
I'll update once I get my phone and put it on

I hear there are bumper cases. Its like a case but for the edges. So I guess if you have a leather back that can cushion the blow. And the bumper can protect corner falls and maybe front if its think enough

It's just to much bulk/case for me, and covers my colors, I am leaning towards the Ringke FUSION in crystal clear as simple, clean, clear, and claims to cover leather.
I ordered these two... One gel clear case. And one hard clear case.
Hard to resists for that money.

Bad news the Verus is NOT compatible with leather back phones. Total misprint on amazon site
Edit.... Bad info on my part.... The most recent review on amazon said it didn't fit however my brother just threw his on the leather tmobile phone and it fits like a glove. Nice case too.

A case? Really?
So you buy a phone with an awesome leather backing and you put it in a case? What sense does that make? Am I the only one who will put a glass screen protector on my lg and enjoy the phone properly.
He wasn't sure if he'd like the leather but bought it since it was free (essentially) and figured worse case he'd get plastic later. We took advantage of free trial amazon prime to order everything so just decided to order in bulk.
Coming from the m8 the only thing I really miss are the speakers... But the speaker on the G4 is actually better than I figured it'd be

Agreed... BUT you can buy bumpers (just around the edge and raised lip) and/or clear cases like what I link to so you can see the leather.
I do not intend to use a case, BUT there are times and activities I participate in where a case can be nice, so I like to have one just "in case" (no pun intended).

I did order this one.
Finally got it on. Very snug fit on leather cover and cery hard to get it off. But looks awesome!
I think I am sticking with leather case and a tempered glass protector.
Agreed. I can't order that nice leather back and then cover it up. Just my opinion.

Tempered glass helps + bumper case and your good to go
Yea I agree it is a risk. I do have insurance but I will try to get a bumper case if I find the right one. I just figure if I intended on getting a case I personally would go with the non leather backs. Either way it looks like it is a terrific phone and I hope it has a ton of development.
