[Q] Need help on finding the stock rom. - Mi 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I bought a mi3 off ebay and the rom it shipped with had a Google folder with all the google stuff in it, and the play store on the home screen with a city background, while booting up the logo turned to gold after some time, when shutting off it shows a jar of jelly beans and said "shutting down" underneath, I flashed my rom with a devoloper china one and I can't get my old one back
The old one was so much better.
Also, it only had 3 language options at start up, 2 asian ones and the last was English, I also believe it ended in .21 and started with a K.
Also when viewing the update change log on the phone it was a singple update that said "Improved security on cloud messaging" or something like that
Look a whole lot like the miui in this vid: /watch?feature=player_embedded&v=5AE0bTzJsuY

http://www.miui.com/getrom-101.html?m=yes&mobile=2
The blue ones are stable versions. The first one is TD version. Don't use it, assuming you are not using China Mobile.
The others are roms customized for different countries. Taiwan, Hong Kong Singapore, Malaysia

[Q] Clock and date get reset at every battery removal

As stated in the title I am getting this boring bug everytime I (switch off the device and then) remove the battery.
I am with RocketROM v11 right now, however I don't think it's a ROM issue.
What do you think about it?
I am not on RocketRom so i am not sure but try ticking automatic date and time and automatic time zone
does the phone have a sim inside?
if yes it should not matter.. as soon as it connects to the carriers network.. it should get the updated time

Haha
I actually never bothered about wether it was set on manual or automatic, but I tried both and it didn't solve the problem.
It looks more like cheap mobiles that can't keep current time and date when removing the battery for a second.
actually I was watching the anatomy of note and I saw a small battery installed in it. like the one we have on mboards of pc.
so it's a wild guess that who ever have that problem mite have a faulty 2nd battery.

Yes. Inside the phone is the clock backup battery. The same is true of computers. This battery is probably damaged.

P9 and T-Mobile

I just picked up my P9 from the post office and will be taking it down to the T-Mobile store after work. I tried to look at their "bring your own phone" compatibility list and it didn't show the phone as compatible. I'm assuming it is compatible because it has LTE band 2 & 4, correct? Is there anything else I should know about using it on the T-Mobile network?
I use my P9 on T-Mobile with no issues. Gets LTE just fine. You won't have VOLTE though.

Okay well this isn't good... all the paperwork is in Chinese, I'm guessing. I hope the phone interface itself isn't. Otherwise, it's useless. Was yours all in Chinese?

I imported mine from the UK, so no Chinese. Don't worry about any of the paperwork. The phone will have the option for English language.

I think so. But T-Mobile also has to approve a phone to get VOLTE on their network.

Thanks for the help. Most everything is okay now except some apps and the Android browser still go to Chinese and I can't figure out how to fix that. Most of the apps are the Huawei ones. And even though I set Google as the default browser, the Android one still keeps popping up. Any clue how to change the language? I looked in the browser settings and didn't see anything for that. Would have been nice to have been warned that "International version" really means Chinese. Only reason I went with this over the others was it was the larger memory and RAM. Live and (expensively) learn, I guess

Oh, so you got the 4gb RAM Chinese model. I'll trade ya! ? Unfortunately, I'm not too familiar with that one, as the L09 has Google services preinstalled. Also, Chrome comes as the default browser.
I'm familiar with Xiaomi phones, and when using their Chinese ROM, even though I set the language as English, I'll still see Chinese text in their default browser and some apps. Some things you'll just learn to live with I guess.
Maybe someone who actually has the model you have can give you better answers.

So no one has figured out VoLTE? What a bummer. Such a shame to get a phone that is modern in every way except the thing that matters the most - cellular connectivity. VoLTE already been around for years and these phones don't support them, let alone the new RCS/EVS.

From my understanding, it's not that they can't. It's that T-Mobile won't allow them to unless they go through T-Mobile certification of some kind. Since the Phone wasn't really a USA/T-Mobile release, T-Mobile is probably not in any hurry to do it

Android Pie with November 1 Update

It was quite a shock but about an hour after signing up for Pie beta I'm now getting it bundled with the November update. It's a 1782. 74 MB download. The way I actually got it was by uninstalling the Samsung+ app and reinstalling the latest version off Apkmirror. Once I did that the beta registration became available.
Do let us know what works and what doesn't
Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk
To get the Beta:
Uninstall Samsung +
Install Samsung + Beta from APK Mirror
Open, sign in, enroll
Go to settings & check for update.
The process was instant for me.
Everything works fine so far except Close All in Recents Tab. Loving the new Night Theme.

The build I got is for my unlocked S9. I read on Samsung Support forums that Sprint & Verizon models that are carrier locked wouldn't receive the beta. Try to sign up & see what happens. Good luck, I know how it feels to want to get something for your phone & then to be told that you're out of luck.
Same here. On TMobile US. I just installed the Samsung+ app from the play store and registered for the beta. I did an update check about 15 mins later and there it was.
About 1875 meg download too.

Is it possible to get pie beta for exynos version
I would guess that the update will depend on where you live and your carrier. I'm sure they won't send it out to everyone so there is probably a limit for each country and carrier. Some may get it fast, some down the road, and some not at all.
I didn't download the Samsung+ beta app. I downloaded the standard Samsung+ app from Google play store and registered within that.
I've registered for betas with them before and not sure if that plays a part in it also. Maybe some some sort of pre-approval going on somewhere also.

I couldn't get the registration to show from the Play version and had to install the other one. Maybe does have something to do with your previous registrations.

Bixby vision food missing

Hi guys so I'm originally from canada but lately I've been living in europe specifically czech republic and so thats from where I've got my note 9 SM-N960F currently running android 9 pie and so I've noticed im missing the make up and food options from bixby vision but on my s9 plus runing same os and my note 8 oreo that are from canada the options are there I've tried changing the vpn as well as the location clear up the data from the apps before I did so but i think is the application itself could somebody post/upload stock bixby vision service and so on with the make up and food options already available maybe that could help .... maybe .... or any helpful ideas that could help me thanks a lot.
I live in Lithuania and mine doesn't have Food option in Bixby Vision settings as well.
---------- Post added at 03:35 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:31 PM ----------
In my case vpn connection to USA didn't help as well.
Might be the ROM or bixby app doesn't have those options in our case.
It would be good to know which European countries have theses options available...
I'm 80% sure they are getting rid of them on all new updates! Search the pie TO Oreo threads for the note 9 snapdragons!

I don't think so on my s9+ is also android 9 pie but that one is from Canada and the options are available there and also on my note 9 i have the exynos version but the s9+ is snapdragon thou

Everything thread.

I've created this thread for those who feel like they want to vent, just talk about random things or even ask device related or non related questions and ask for help. No limits here. Speak your mind (of course within XDA's guidelines and full respect). Ask questions, ask for help, debate, discuss whatever crap comes to mind (lol). Have at it. Whatever you think is random and doesn't fit in a certain thread and you're really dying to get it out, come to this thread and gush it out. That way, we keep other purposeful threads clean and on topic. Remember, whatever the heck you want. Go....
NOTICE:
Please adhere to XDA rules and show respect to others. We have people from all around the world with all kinds of backgrounds and ethnicities, and what may not offend you could very well offend them. Respect is the number one aspect of this thread. I'll gladly report any posts that choose otherwise.

Dunno really. I like the look etc. I expected better battery life but doesnt seem to work for me I would say I'm a heavy user.
My main problems now is having problems with sound and bluetooth sound. My bluetooth sound has all of a sudden become strange if I'm listening to a song in my van or bluetooth speaker the sound skips like as if a CD jumping.
And notifications dont seem to come through properly. Sometimes I get texts but dont know about them as the notification disappears

Man, I have non of these issues you've mentioned. Mine has been flawless. The only weird thing that happens sometimes is somethings reset on their own. Like some apps just disapeare from my home screen/folders for no reason. Some settings clear themselves out without me doing anything. Sometimes, I think Samsung is remotely is messing with my phone.

That's a chipset power management issue. The only fix I've found us turning off wifi or bluetooth for a second and then turn it back on.
The reason its happening is because of the wifi, data, and bluetooth chips being all in one when it comes to power management. Great for form factor, dumb for data/power handling.??
It happens on Oreo as well but pie handles it WAY WAY WORSE.
But seriously K-alz kinda good to have this, I get tired of the high and mighty peeps on XDA jumping on others for crap. We were all new to this once. Yup. That's another thing that is getting old. Giving others crap for asking a simple question. Arguing over dumb stuff. Getting off topic on a thread with something very important, root. All of that has brought the idea of having a thread like this. I want everyone to participate and talk about whatever the hell they want. Just make it a chat room.
