can you please provide more information about your phone?
post the output of "fastboot getvar all" except your IMEI and SERIALNO.
Do you have a custom recovery installed? Which one and what version?

If you want to use the RUU zip method, use the 1.28.401.7 RUU.zip
make sure the ruu.zip is in the same folder where you have adb and fastboot on your computer. You can raname it "ruu" (ruu.zip) so it will be easier in the command prompt.
open a command prompt from that folder and make sure you rphone is booted in bootloader mode
Code:
fastboot oem rebootRUU
fastboot flash zip ruu.zip
fastboot flash zip ruu.zip
fastboot reboot
then you'll need to do each ota update till 6.xx.401.x
or you can use the latest ruu.exe if it works for you.
and btw TWRP 2.7.1.1 isnt the latest version. Latest is 2.8.0.2, however we recommend to use 2.6.3.3 unless specified when flashing a rom.
DO not use windows 8.1 to flash the ruu
---------- Post added at 01:17 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:12 PM ----------
you might also want to use a nandroid backup of your version instead of flashing a ruu...

Did you manage to resolve this?, I have the same issue and I now don't seem to be able to flash any stock firmware, I'm stuck with custom roms but am not sure what I would do if I had to return my phone.
Well first of all, you should remove your imei and serial number from your output above as it's dangerous to post them, but that's a problem as the guy who quoted you also needs to edit his post and remove them.
First of all, going on your output, you have the bogg standard HTC wwe 401 ruu for your phone, this is found out by you cid number and mid number.
Second, if by ge you mean Google edition, you need to read the instructions really before trying to flash it, you must be s-off to flash Google edition roms.

No that's fair enough.. I should have spotted IMEI and removed it when I quoted. I've removed it now, just up to the OP to remove it from his.
I'll give flashing X.X.1700.X a try and will let you know if I get anywhere. Thanks!
Mate, im not sure flashing that firmware is a good idea, that firmware is a Google edition firmware, not a htc sense firmware, and could possibly brick your devices, especially as you are s-on, I will get a couple of guys more experienced to take a look at this thread who know a bit more than me and they can confirm if its safe or not.

Don''t flash a firmware yet. Let Seanie280672 confirm it first if it is safe or not. Sorry about that.
And yes, you need to be S-Off to flash a firmware.

This corresponds to 1.55 HBOOT on HTC ONe M7 with HTC__001 as CID and PN710000 as MID.
Lock bootloader ( NO NEED IF S-OFF)
fastboot oem rebootRUU
fastboot flash zip 3.62.401.1.zip
fastboot flash zip 3.62.401.1.zip (YES TWICE)
fastboot reboot

(solved) Help needed, RUU crashed (only fasboot working)

I tried to reversed from Cyanogen back to stock using this setup: http://sakitechonline.com/restore-your-htc-one-to-sense-5-stock-or-factory-rom/
After locking my phone and flashing: RUU_M7_UL_JB_50_HTC_Europe_1.28.401.7_Radio_4A.13.3231.27_10.31.1131.05_release_310878_signed It's crashing..
The only thing that's working now is fastboot..
But it's still S-On

Hi, I, think thats the good RUU, but maybe it's not possible flashing it with hboot 1.55
And can't flash it to hboot 1.44 because it's locked
Stupid me... just unlock again..

It works for me.

Gonna try it right now, thnx!!
Keep getting errors, tried this:
in bootloader/FASTBOOT USB, flash it:
fastboot oem rebootRUU
fastboot flash zip 1.29.401.12_hboot_1.44.zip
fastboot flash zip 1.29.401.12_hboot_1.44.zip <---- just in case the above said “failed flush again”
fastboot reboot-bootloader
--> and confirm hboot is now 1.44
But it's not changing te hboot..
But I have installed a recovery (ClockworkMod 6.0.4.6 , is there a way to flash a new ROM via fastboot?
You won't be able to downgrade your hboot version as you are still S-ON.
If you use the guru reset ROM (flashed through custom recovery, if you can get to it?) then gain S-OFF, you will then be able to downgrade your hboot.

You don't have to change HBOOT.
Just take a suitable ROM for your device and flash it using recovery TWRP (suggested)
And to flash the ROM, I suggest using USB OTG. I connected my FlashDiskdrive to HTC One and using USB OTG I flashed the ROM.
And now, my HTC One is back to normal. Without changing HBOOT and still S-ON.

Oké, I have to buy the USB OTB cable first..
And put the RUU on a flashstick,
I hope it's possible because sideload is not working.
100% upload via sideload (Cyanogen ROM) but then a bootloop
So when I have the cable just flash te RUU ZIP to CWM recovery, and it's working again?
No need to use the OTB USB cable
Check this: http://android-revolution-hd.blogspot.nl/2013/10/fix-data-htc-one.html
Problem solved!!!

Bricked Please Help

Hello
so my brother bricked his htc one M7 so now im trying to get it back to work fine but i dunno how
i have rooted it from before but now when ever i try to power on his phone it goes to the bootloader menu and when i go to the recovery it says on top no OS installed
how can i re install the software ?
Post the output of 'fastboot getvar all' with the IMEI and serial number edited out. Depending on the result it could be as easy as flashing an RUU from bootloader.

If you can flash it via fastboot flash recovery <name of recovery.img>, then fastboot erase cache then try entering recovery.
If you can get into recovery sideload a custom rom through TWRP (suggest a CyanogenMod as relatively small just to get you operational

I'm lost

I have an HTC m7, S-on, hboot 1.56, and the bootloader is unlocked. The phone was updating a few days ago via WIFI when it was removed from the access point, and of course the update failed mid way through because of this. The phone shows a htc phone with a red arrow in the middle of it. I'm able to boot into the os, but I can't log into the services to set up the phone and I encounter multiple errors. How exactly do I just flash another stock ATT ROM? I was going to flash the original update that failed through adb but I have no recovery to do so. I'm not sure what to do, any help will greatly be appreciated. Thanks!
Anyone? I'm dying here lol.
No one has any clue to help me? I'm still stuck here.

since your phone is s-on, you can not flash the ota update manually. Anyway I don't think flashing the ota again could solve your issue. Looks like something got corrupted because the updated process aborted. There is a RUU that match your version you could use it to restore your phone back to stock. Using a RUU will wipe everything from your phone (like if it was brand new). make sure your bootload is locked or relocked.
http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/ruu_m7_...9_10-26-1718-01l_release_356565_signed_2-exe/
btw have you tried a simple factory reset? Might worth a try before using the ruu

their is no RUU for you phone or any 6.x.xxx.x software (aside from t-mobile).
you'll need to s-off your phone to flash a RUU

It would be to your advantage to get s-off on your phone also before taking the 5.x.502 update. ... just use the bulletproof kernel and your stock rom (after the RUU and custom recovery and Root)
delete

What I need to receive HTC ota again?

I installed viper one Rom and twrp, now I want install again the stock Rom only to receive the official ota. Just need the Rom or need the stock recovery too?

Stock rom (100% stock /system partition and /data/preload folder)
stock recovery
stock firmware
recovery, rom and firmware version must match together (same version) and must also match your CID and MID numbers.

You won't receive any ota update using these files, these are leaked firmware and software.
post the output of "fastboot getvar all"

Flash this using TWRP 2.6.3.3, this is stock rom: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=95916177934521009
and then flash this, this is stock recovery: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=95864024717070758
you should be good to update then, the data / preload folder is included in it, ive just downloaded it and checked, and thats one of the main requirements to update.
