I have tried servel RUU files and none have worked. Anyhelp would be grateful

What firmware are you on? It has to be older or same as the RUU you're going to flash.
Also select the RUU depending on your CID.

Where can I find my CID and firmware?

Start phone in fastboot mode and send command "fastboot getvar all".

you can only flash an RUU which is for both your CID and MID
So you are right in saying it has to be for CID HTC__001. You can (I think) only flash a 2.xx.xxx.x RUU and not the most recent one, as it'll give you an error message I think
Check here http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/ruu-zip...0-01_release_318486_signed_2_4_decrypted-zip/

He's s-on he can't use the decrypted RUU.zip ? ( I could be wrong I been s-off forever)
I think you need a ROM.zip pulled from a RUU.exe or just use the actual RUU.exe
most likely you'll have to use this one >> http://www.androidruu.com/getdownlo...10.38r.1157.04L_release_353069_signed_2-1.exe

Guys I have tried all the suggested files but none seem to work. ;/
I had to re lock the bootloader and sometimes when I put the phone into fastboot the red text is sometimes cut in half for some reason.
Also my image version is 1.29,401.16.
(just some extra info to help?)
Thanks

you could try flashing the firmware first then the RUU
here's the firmware >> http://xda7.androidrevolution.org/db_mirror/Firmware/HTC/HTC_One/401/4.19.401.9.zip
flash it with fastboot...

From what I see from your ''fastboot getvar all'' your CID is HTC__J15 and MID PN0711000 so you need a .401 base RUU like this one : http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/ruu_m7_u_jb_50_htc_europe_1-29-401-2_r_radio_4a-14-3250-13_10-33-1150-01_release_311663_signed_2_4-exe/ not a .707
But you are S-on, you shouldn't be able to run a RUU because it require Hboot downgrade to 1.44 (you are on 1.54)
Maybe you should go with a guru reset from htc1guru.com or attemp to s-off and run the 1.29.401 ruu.exe

if i down grade my hboot is it gonna effect my device preformance and can i receive the OTA updates??
why getting S-ON is Big mistake...??

We don't care! Let me explain: you have to downgrade hboot to 1.44 to be able to run that ruu I linked above. After the ruu process is complete you will receive ota and hboot will update to latest version avail.
LilbrownMeko said:

Yes after a RUU restore, your device will be 100% stock (stock OS, stock recovery etc...) so as long your MID and CID match the ruu, you will receive ota updates.

Allways stay s-off !!! If you still were s-off, you simply had to run that ruu.exe i linked above. Now with s-on you can't downgrade hboot. Nothing guarantee you will be able to s-off again when you go back s-on. so better to stay s-off.
now go read that thread I linked above (nkk71 guide to return stock) and you will find many options to return stock. You can also use a decrypted ruu.zip and edit the android-info.txt to match your mid and cid.

1- yes, i saw that, but didnt care cause you're s-off; it sometimes happens when trying to flash a firmware package and it doesnt go through successfully.
2- SuperCID is 11111111 (8 ones), then you can use any ruu you like, but it won't let you get any OTAs
3- so recommend you set HTC__J15, so you can receive OTAs
4- keep S-OFF !!

sorry, didnt understand exactly, so you ran the RUU -> so yes, you'll be 100% stock (including stock recovery, which is needed anyway), you reboot and get the notification for update to 2.24.401.2 and during update it goes to stock recovery which is normal.
What am i misunderstanding?

OTA Update Failure

Hi
I was putting my phone back to stock, have installed the 1,28 RUU and working perfectly fine and it prompted me to update to 1.29 upon installing, system always aborted it (tried manual OTA installation thru stock recovery as well) and is showing "assert failed:apply patch_check("system/app/Books.odex". "xxxxxxxx.........." What do I need to do to resolve this issue? I tried it with an unlocked bootloader and I relocked my bootloader as well.

Hi, so I need to flash 4.19.401.9 firmware from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2365506
then run the RUU? Do you have the link for the flashable zip, as I am in the office and cannot install .exe file. At home, I have windows 8.1 which I think might have some issues.

Yes you can use that, it's the same ruu, is that the ruu.zip, I couldn't quite see as I'm at work too, be careful which firmwares you try and flash, any modified ones and you can never go s-on as these will instantly brick your phone.

I would have to say it sounds like you have some sort of hardware problem going on there, maybe a bad nand.
you could try flashing twrp recovery and then doing a full format (format data) then try all of the above again, see if that works, if it still fails then id say it was down to hardware.

yes you can do that, but you will have to flash an earlier firmware and ruu before going s-on, with the later ones, like the one you have on there now, going s-on brings back the tampered flag.

yup that will be perfect, downgrade your hboot to 1.44, run the ruu.zip, make sure your firmware is downgraded to, it should be and then remove tampered flag from the bootloader if its still there, then lock the bootloader and s-on.

HTC supports Rooting so warranty may still be ok. Depending on your provider honoring it is another thing but I'm sure you can go directly to HTC if your provider has a problem with it.

HTC will refuse to repair, and make you pay for repairs if you have TAMPERED or UNLOCKED or RELOCKED flags on your bootloader, they will shift all fault and blame onto you.

I guess if you have experienced this and or have been told this personally then you know. I'm looking at the htcdev site that says "not all claims... May be covered under warranty." it's worth a try if you can't resurrect it.

[Q] Unroot help please

I need help unrooting my HTC one please. When I first go the phone I needed to transfer game data over from my previous phone and the only way to do it was by rooting. I followed a guide and it worked but I have since left it and not updated the phone in any way. I am about to get a new phone and want to remove the root as I will be giving it to a family member.
I have had a look around on google but all the guides seem very complicated and I do not understand what I am doing.
When I hold down the power / volume down it goes into a screen that says hboot 1.44 s-on . When I go into recovery its says cwm-based recovery v6.0.2.8.
I tried flashing a a 4.4.4 onto it following a guide but I got an error message. Ideally I would like to remove the root but if it was easier I would also put a new rom on it. Any help would be appreciated.

If you want to just return to stock just relock the bootloader
fastboot oem lock
and flash this RUU >> http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/ruu_m7_..._10-27-1127-01_release_308001_signed_2_4-exe/
If you plan on keeping and using the phone you should consider getting s-off while your still on hboot 1.44
Rumrunner should do the trick
I did the fastboot oem lock, downloaded the file from your link but during the process it said "Error [155]: unknown error"

You need the 1.28.401.7 ruu, not the 1.20.401.1.
correct ruu is here: http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/ruu_m7_...1-27_10-31-1131-05_release_310878_signed-exe/
When the first link didn't work I assumed from my current software that I needed to download the 1.28.401.7. However after running this it did start showing a percentage bar and a green bar on the phone but I still got an error. The phone is stuck on the htc screen with four triangles in each corner.
Nevermind, I ran it again and it worked. Thank you for all your help

1.20.401.1 is hboot 1.43 and is not update-able with ota. I only know this info because of nkk71's guide. Only thing this ruu version is causing is more trouble lol, it should be removed from crushalot's website imo... unless you have s-off and you want to be stuck with hboot 1.43 and 1.20 forever, this ruu is useless.

I hate guides from this website, The way they are written make them useful only if your phone is in the same exact situation with the same exact specs (software version) and there are often unnecessary steps, like in this case step 7 is useless since you don't need usb debugging in bootloader mode. These guides are never updated and giving links to old files. Sorry but I had to say it. I see so much ppl coming here after bricking their phone following an outdated guide from this website.
Post the output of "fastboot getvar all" (do not post your IMEI/Serialno) and we'll be able to tell you what you really need to do. Also, do you remember what your OS version was before flashing CM?

PN0710000 + HTC__E11 mean you need a M7_UL x.xx.401.x RUU.
Hboot 1.61 mean its a 7.19.xxx.x RUU
So you need a 7.19.401.x RUU.
Unfortunately the only way to know the remaining x is from your OS version which is blank. Try the 7.19.401.22 RUU (file at post #2 of this thread, instructions how to flash at post #1)
if it doesn't work, that mean your OS version was 7.19.401.30 or 7.19.401.51. In that case you'll need to follow instructions at the end of post #2 of the thread linked above to downgrade your version-main so you can flash the 7.19.401.22 RUU.

Htc_102 runs the same firmware as htc_e11. Flash the latest ruu (7.19.401.51).
