I have an xperia Z1 which i purely use in my car for sat nav and music playing via bluetooth.
The problem with the Z1 is that it still drains the battery even on a 2000mah car charger while you are using sat nav apps ( or other apps that use a lot of cpu) with the screen brightness fairly high.
Does the Moto G suffer this problem?
thanks
yes it does - runtime about an hour and a half then it shuts off and then starts to charge. irritatingly it doesn't say charging or on AC until it syts down.
most irritating.

I use my Galaxy Tab as my GPS/ head unit/ carputer and love it... but as a result of this it often overheats in the windshield of my vehicle where it is mounted in the Samsung dock. I have limo tint and put the Tab in my door panel every time I get out but still it constantly bugs me with

I don't care if it's charging the battery or not. I would like to permanently disable this annoying popup that comes up every 15 seconds and obstructs me from using my controls. Can anyone help?
I'm in the same situation but with an SGS. While navigating it's very annoying. I don't care about charging or not, I just want to eliminate this message (stock JVR, rooted).
It would be so great to have this fixed.
Galaxy Tab charging paused - message w/ battery temperature too high or too low
I changed the battery in my Galaxy Tab (first gen) and have the message:
Charging Paused.
battery temperature too high or too low
has this bug been fixed?
I thought for a while it was the battery I installed, and reverted back to the old one, but the same message popped up again... Help!
Bump..
Hi just wondering if anyone was able to fix this.

Has anyone noticed excessive battery drain from bluetooth after disconnecting a headset?
After disconnecting my headset (Motorola S9), I have to turn off my bluetooth, otherwise, my battery status will show Phone idle % = to the bluetooth % (Phone Idle = 28%, bluetooth = 27%) and my battery will go dead in just a few hours.
Yes. Noticed it yesterday after using my new car dock. I just need to remember to turn off bluetooth

I've been using bluetooth with my car stereo and haven't noticed a significant difference.
I used Bluetooth with my car handsfree and noticed it used a lot of battery too. :/
Have had to leave BT off for the most part.
Since day one leaving bluetooth on all the time has been showing a 25-30% battery usage
I've never had a phone that didn't die quickly when bluetooth is on but not paired.
It is akin to the phone searching for a signal in an area of no service. The radio draws more amps when it has no signal.
I agree there is additional drain when Bluetooth is enabled. What I am noticing is that if I reboot the phone, the drain from Bluetooth is fairly normal. After connecting/disconnecting a headset, the drain increases by 10 times. It is almost like the Bluetooth drivers get stuck in search mode.
I've noticed the same thing and have been turning it on and off as needed.
I don't think this is normal though - I left Bluetooth on 24/7 on my OG Droid for almost 2 years and don't think I ever saw it consume as much battery.

this. the radio shouldn't be consuming additional power to search for devices. BT power doesn't change between searching and pairing. it's not like trying to lock a cell signal. i left my wifi/BT on my D1/D2 everyday and never had the level of "drainage" that appears in the battery usage.
i've been running without them on for testing purposes and i'm not convinced there is a problem with them. right now i'm more convinced that there is a problem with the battery usage app, or at least the statistics engine.
There is certainly something here - but I am not sure is it related to the bluetooth or to the car dock. Before I got my car dock I used bluetooth speaker and didn't notice battery running down faster. Now - after I take the phone out of the car dock, even disabling the bluetooth doesn't help - battery starts draining about twice as fast. If I reboot the phone after use in car dock, things get back to normal. And I feel phone stays warmer in the lower area. I hate bugs like that!!
For ca. 3 weeks i have problems with battery. At first battery was draining like crazy, I got 1 hour screen time with 30% brightness and on WiFi listening podcasts. Then I noticed that battery takes longer to charge 1 hour longer. I turned even airplane mode to speed up charging and didn't used phone at all when charging. It helped for short time. I noticed then that battery percentage jumping 50-20-35. I though I need to calibrate battery percentage, I drained battery down to "0%" till shut off phone several times. Then recharged, it helped for 2 weeks.
Now I noticed that my battery doesn't charge at all when using it to write SMS or listening music and charging at the same time. When I turn airplane mode on and dont use phone it's charging but very slowly 40% in 5 hours. It's not normal! Cell signal is good, max strength 24h. Can anyone help me with battery? My phone is S4 Active I9295 with stock official 4.4.2 without root or new apps installed recently. I using original wall charger and cable.
Hey peeps
New to the 701 and I've searched but haven't seen this exact problem or know if it's even considered normal.
When I connect the dock to the tablet, the dock drains in about 1.25 to 1.5 hrs. I was imagining 4 or so hours from it. Additionally, the tablet doesn't really charge from it, it just more or less maintains it's level.
I'm running stock 4.4.2 and when I first turned the tablet on, it automatically did a keyboard firmware upgrade before the first boot.
Keyboard docking seems good so far, the only other keyboard issue is that the @ and " are reversed.....hmmmm strange. That seems to be working now lol. I've just loaded ai type keyboard plus so that may have somehow sorted that particular glitch.
Your dock battery might be kaputt.
The way it should work: Tab runs off the tablet battery until it reaches 70% or so, then the dock starts to charge the tablet battery.
If the dock battery looses charge with the tablet battery being above 70% it's borked. My first one did the same thing, had it RMA'd.
Thanks for the info.
It doesn't drain until 70% but then it drains the dock battery in about 1.25 hours. In that time the tablet battery goes up a little bit. I figure that the dock gives me an extra 2 hours or so. What should I be expecting?
Hi,
I am looking for a stable CustomROM for GPS-Navi operation.
I would like to stay with the original ROM, BUT in GPS mode WITH charger the battery is drained.
For a long distance in the car this is a problem due the device runs out of power at some point, because the battery has been sucked empty by the GPS.
Are there custom ROMs that do not have this problem?
Many greetings

Nope. I have the same issue. Live with it
I did remove the motherboard and replaced the thermal pad with gc-extreme cooling paste and it did make a difference.
The phone can be used even hotter before it stops charging but it will still happen eventually.
Using the GPS does heat up the phone quite a bit too.
However mine does not turn off even if the battery hover at 1% if the charger is still plugged in..
The solution is either a new device or live with it, the GPS is known to be one of the biggest battery drainers even for a new smartphone (but a new one does hold out more), besides custom roms won't help you (some has overheating issue and fast battery drain, and others with no GPS or a slow GPS detection), Xperia has Stamina mode which should help with the battery drain.
