I'm with T-mobile but I am dying to get the note. Can someoen link or even just give me a description as to how to get the note to work on T-mo? I'm guessing rooting it but then what?
3g/4g will not work here on t-mo. so i would suggest take a hot-spot and connect via wifi. thats what im doing . other than that there is not much of an issue. since i assume u would be getting an international version it will be unlocked already and rooting methods are are available in the dev section

Please be more specific as in data or actual service. Too vague...

you have the "unlocked" version? I thought the "unlocked" international version would work on tmo 3g/4g ?
I'm not 100% sure about this but the only way I could get my streak to work with tmobile 3g/4g was to get one for Bell, I'd just checked their site and it lists the note as having the correct frequencies for t-mo us. My guess is get one from them and get it unlocked should it be locked onto their network
tried

did try but get only edge speeds. no way around this. also an article on engadget says that the att note will not work on the tmo band if unlocked.

I keep searching, but can't find anything. Is there a site that I can buy the code from or is it even GSM capable in the country?

I just called and spoke to the International services people. They waived the 90-day requirement for me, and unlocked the phone. Haven't tested it yet, though.

HI dev ,
i am from Nagpur, did you got any solution for Sprint MOTO X ? pl help me if you have any solution. i bought two phones from eBay.
Thanks.
Sorry.. as far as I know .. no solutions yet .
sent from the ONE !!!
No man can hack it, what a pity!
Unlocking the phone for use with GSM Sim without Sprint service is not possible as Moto only releases the codes to the specific carrier and Sprint will not give it to you.
If you do get it unlocked, it will not work in the US on a GSM network ie: T-Mobile or ATT. They're hardware restricted from working on local GSM networks p/fca allowances. I have seen a few devices like some black Berry's work locally after being unlocked but they are few and far between.

Do we have confirmation anywhere if the bootloader is unlocked on the T-Mobile Note 4?

Haven't seen anything yet, but if T-Mobile's history is any consolation, it should come unlocked. Almost all their phones are.
We can confidently say "yes" according to the past records.

AT&T yes, see my sig.
Verizon?? Well, VZW is CDMA and TMO is GSM. So it won't work on VZW unless the phone is dual GSM and CDMA.
Non locked bootloader
I called samsung today and spoke with a lady and she said that T-mobile has no plans of locking the bootloaders nor does samsung, and that locking bootloaders is solely on the carrier. So, I assume, we can have free reign over our bad a$$ note 4 on T-Mobile... I made the switch to them today from ATT...
I hope the BL is unlocked....I got the z1s and its been damn near depressing to see a device with so much potential be crippled by a locked BL....And its the only reason I'm making the jump to the N4...If the BL is locked on the N4 then I'm opting for the Nexus 6

I would love to know the answer to this as well.
I see there is a root guide over in TMOB Android Development for root. Doesn't that mean that the boot loader mst be unlocked? I have not tried it yet myself as I was waiting for a SIM unlock and TWRP or CWM first.

no it does not, att and verizon note 3 got root and both had locked bootloaders
We can confirm that Bootloader is unlocked. People have rooted using Chainfire's auto root. Since that method requires an unlocked bootloader, it is 100% confirmed that the bootloader is unlocked.
YAY!!!!

What is the model number of the T Mobile Note 4 that fits this description? Also curious if the Verizon Developer Edition fits this description despite my not being able to find one anywhere.
Does a comprehensive list exist anywhere that shows what USA Carrier branded phones, by make and model, that can and cannot be made to work on carriers which they were not originally branded?

In the US, N6 devices purchased from T-Mo, Sprint, Motorola and Google Play are unlocked. N6 from Verizon should be unlocked for use with GSM carriers, but I don't know for certain.
(I have no idea about the N6 sold outside of the US)
Thank You for all your answers.
And what about the US CELLULAR one, is it unlocked ?

Afaik - At&t is the only one we've seen locked.
Does it matter with whom the carrier is from?
can they be flashed or rooted?
Currently there's a procedure to unlock boot loader for all models *except* t mobile. The procedure isn't simple though. Look in rom/devs sub forum.

Alright thank you
does it matter if I buy a AT&T version or Sprint Version?
Would it affect performance or what bands I can connect to?

That I don't know. I got a Sprint model and it seems to work fine with att, though I've been stuck at home like everybody else so I haven't really tested the network. The Sprint model is on Android 9. I don't know what the situation is on att.
Sprint does load the phone with a bunch of bloat and spam ware, most of which you can disable. I imagine att does the same. I'd just buy what is available at lowest price.

from what I was told you could just flash the firmware on it to the US unlocked and that would allow more band usage?
