WIFI not scanning issue fix - Nexus 5 General

i dont know how many of you guys experienced it but i just did now. just follow this vid to fix it. had the same problem on previous phones to
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mmQgiPIYLrU
Edit: as stated below the problem is caused if you change permissions of system apps with app ops. In my case just disabling app ops didnt help

So the fix is to back up the settings app, uninstall it, then reinstall it?

Does the fix persist through a system wipe/ROM flash?

Pretty sure this issue has to do with App Ops.
On my own ROM, if I deny the "location" permission of ScreenRecorder, it happens. Allow it again, and it doesn't happen.

Yeah this is the reason but for me even after disabling app ops and rebooting it didnt start scanning...

I don't have to reboot for it to start/stop scanning. Weird.
Just don't use App Ops on system apps unless its a user app that you moved into system yourself for some weird reason.

[Q] Remove Backup Assistant from Accounts and Sync menu?

I want to remove the circled part of the picture below from said menu, and I thought I'd found the appropriate XML entry, but when I remove said entry the resulting apk FC's.

A similar XML edit successfully removed "Setup Wizard" from the Settings.apk menu, so I guess I got overconfident I'd still like to remove it since most ROMs rip out Setup Wizard and Backup Assistant anyway, but if it's more trouble than it's worth then yeah I'll probably move on to other things.
Still interested if anyone else has any suggestions though!

Why? What's the purpose?
probably dumb question but did you try uninstalling through titanium backup??

Why not? What's the purpose of your question?
It's an eyesore and most ROMs remove the backup assistant anyway if they can help it, so I was just wondering. Would "to enhance my understanding of the Android OS" be a suitable answer for you?

At the time I asked this question the ROM I was using had already removed the actual backup assistant, I was just wondering if there were a way to remove the menu entry.

Unable to find RTN status under the service menu

Any tips on where to find it? Trying to determine if a phone is refurbished or not.
Phone is bone stock nor mods or installed software.

I have the same question as the OP. So I don't think that app provides that info any more. Is there any other method? I have tried some dialer codes(no success) and RTN-view from activities shortcut. I just get permission denied. EDIT: nevermind I found the refurbish check In the "phone INFO" app. Linked app in this thread is good. My bad.

How to get Package Disabler LG by OEM Developer to Work

Hi all,
I recently bought Package Disabler LG by OEM developer on the Play Store. But, when I launch it and attempt to grant it Admin Privileges, it just keeps looping the same menu for Admin permissions Iver and over again. I think I have the right LG Service plugin installed. Can somebody help with this issue? Thanks.

Hmm. I get to that screen and I can press the Activate but it will keep looping me in the same menu. I'll try a few things.
EDIT: I cleared the app's data and cache then moved it to my Internal storage. It works now

oh... do people still install apps on external SD card when they have alot GB of internal storage?
If it not work, you can try guide in this link. It work for me
https://www.xda-developers.com/uninstall-carrier-oem-bloatware-without-root-access/
Rather than bothering with paying for an app that doesn't always work properly or requires extra effort to get it working right just to end up causing more lag than it fixes in a lot of cases, just use ADB Shell command:

Magisk Hide

Magisk Hide doesn't seem to be working when it comes to my automobile's app, Uconnect. I'm rooted and now the Uconnect app states that I'm using an unsupported device. It worked before rooting.View attachment magisk_log_20181022_153305.log

THIS great module might help :fingers-crossed:
Destiple, can you confirm whether MagiskHide Props Config, which kamilmirza referred you to, worked?
Alternately, did you find another solution to get Uconnect working?
If you haven't already you're probably better off testing the brand new MagiskHide (rewritten from scratch) in the Canary builds (currently at build 18110).

That's very good to know. I'm nervous about running a Canary build on my normal phone, but I'll see if I can find a spare to test it on.
Will the new MagiskHide be on the next Magisk update, or is it several versions away from being in the stable build?
Try using the "Hide Magisk Manager" option in the settings. I was having the same problem, but after doing that and restarting I can use the Uconnect app again.

Good to know! I tried it - hiding the manager by itself wasn't enough. But once I added Uconnect to the apps being hidden, *then* the app finally loaded.
Of course, upon trying to log in, the app immediately crashes. Would that have anything to do with it being added to the MagiskHide list?
