Hey guys!
I've got my P990 stock ROM ICS 4.0.4 and I was wondering what custom ROM can I install onto it?
Preferably fast.

There is no one favorite, alot of folk either prefer CM10.x or ICS,
ICS roms, have (or at least should have) everything working, technically, like wifi, bluetooth, gps, HDMI, etc.
CM10 + roms dont have some working items, (and probably never will) - like HDMI
different roms do run differently for everyone. IMO the latest 10.2 rom from Tonyp is amazingly smooth, but with the current CM10 bugs, and falky GPS for now.
here is some of the bugs and fixes that Tonyp sorted out for 10.1 (hes working on them for 10.2) ** so dont bother him about any of them ^.^ **

You best bet is to try a few of the recommended roms, and see what you think best works for you.

Try install P.A.C-Man 4.3.0 (JB4.3) wiht the last Kowalsky kernel is fast and stable for me. P.A.C-Man combine best features of CM10.2, Aokp and PA. You can download P.A.C-Man at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2148394 and Kowalsky kernel at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2097788.
As someone stated before, the stock based roms have less bugs and the CM based rom are more experimental. Anyway, you can also overclock your rom. Don't forget to install a 32m ramhack (check google).
Hey guys... I'm having wifi issues...
I did not have any issues with wifi when I was on stock. I'm having issues when I flash SuperNexus 3.0.
Some people suggested that I shud try different roms and then report... I tried Gamerz v4.0 and now I'm on CyanAOSP v5.0
What could possibly be wrong???? Can some-one please suggest me steps to make it work fine...
PS: I have not flashed any kernels in any rom... I just used the kernels they came along with...

Aways is great dev, but IMO his ROMs go quite far away from stock, he likes experiments. If you were fine with stock based ROMs, consider the CM10.2 as it is close to stock but not conservative at all. Here good idea how to get it bug-free, check my post of this morning, there you can track whole the step-by-step workflow:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=45551731#post45551731
Will 2.3 do???
So you mean to say I should flash 2.2 and then root and install CM10.2....
Can I flash 2.3.6? As I already have its .tar file...
Thanks for ur reply tetakpatak...:good:

Yes, you can try that as well. But it was exactly my point, as I could have observed that most of people who have bugs with CyanogenMod have upgraded from Gingerbread to the CM10x. Those Froyo ROMs seem to be really "clean" to be overwritten, therefore my idea that it could help.
From people who upgraded to the CM from those Froyo ROMs and SpeedMod kernel nobody had bugs. I've only got so far one single time info that Trebuchet was bit laggy, but installing Apex launcher has solved that. On my i9000 Trebuchet is rock stable and fast, on my p5110 Tab I had to replace it with Apex, which indeed has worked perfectly well since the first second.

What may help also is describing the kinds of wifi problems you have. Most of the time its fixed by flashing a different kernel.

Hi,
Can someone please recommend a stable ROM for the I8190N? It needs to be light, customisable, stable and preferably 4.2.2 or above....
I would really appreciate it if replies address the following:
Please only suggest a ROM if you have had random reboots on another ROM, then flashed a ROM and the random reboots stop....
Already flashed and have had issues with:
CyanogenMod 11.0 (maclaw and AOKP)
CyanogenMod 10.2 (maclaw and OliverG)
Light by somin
Chameleon OS 0.8
Anything "golden"
A deodexed stock ROM and custom kernel would be fine.....
Thanks!!

I meant to say in my OP that Dmodv6 was excellent - started flashing others because I'm a serial flasher (have four android devices) and wanted a newer android version.... if you kitkat Dmod, I'll consider you a living god!!
I've got stock AMJ2 from sammobile and plan to deodex, root and de-bloat.
The stock rooted XXAMJ3 - isn't for the 8190N - would I expect issues if i flashed it? Ignore me, i know it would NOT be a good idea!
Thanks!!
stock rom is the best.

try one of these, they are fast, stable, debloated and smooth Virginity V2 or somin.n ROM
if you flash somin ROM, search baseband xxam... and kernel xxam... on the forum and flash it.
Maclaw's cm10.2 no longer suffers from random reboots and is completely stable (in my experience anyway).
1st XDA post :highfive:
Give Virginity ROM a shot!

Currently I have CyanogenMod 10.2 and it really works fine.

Well, that depends on which governor you used and how many apps which sync every minute you had.
Luckily on custom roms you can change the governor.
You can change the behaviour or disable background processes as well. (I recommend the application ''Greenify'' for that).
If I didn't convince you now I'm afraid I have to tell you that there are no stable custom roms except stock based..
WHAT BEST ROM FOR I9000 KK 4.4? CAN I FLASH ON M110S KERNEL v6?

Hi,
For me Resurrection remix 5.0.9 is a stable and beautiful kit kat rom. I use it since 2 month and i had only 1 FC. No issues with this rom and developper is serious and make a good job.
I used also CM 11. It's certainly the most up to date and securised rom, but i had some issues with it 2 month ago. I think now there is no issue with this ROM.
So i recommend both :good:
As suggested by someone already, CM11 is the best if you want security and stability. You could also try C-Rom by aways as the rom is considered to be very popular among i9000 users.
Please refer to my thread as well and use it to help decide what suits you best

In my choice "CyanFox KK4.4.2" is the most stable and fastest rom with V5.
But it does not have extra tweakes.
Hi guys! I currentl have an abandoned Carbon 4.4 ROM and I have problems with apps (can't install some apps, can't move to sd card etc), so I want to change it to something else. I see there are many kitkat ROMs out there, I just want the most stable one that has no general issues, because I see some have problems with camera, others with sound etc. Is there a Kitkat ROM for my S Advance out there that is as complete and stable as possible?
Try them and see what is good for you. For me is good Paranoid or AOSP from J-Team.

Well that's the point of this thread, not having to try them all. Any issues with the one you use?

Nope, but make sure you make a clean install. Here is AOSPA from t4n017: http://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=14991&sort_by=date&sort_dir=DESC
And Here is AOSPA from Chirag_Galani: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2593631.
Here is AOSP project. (This rom doesn't have any features, is pure stock fast android): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2581768
And the gapps: http://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/themes-apps/standard-minimal-gapps-t2012857
Choose Minimal Gapps.
Liquid Smooth is also a feature filled rom and fast.

Thanks, but as I run through comments I see many have camera problems, or wifi problems and stuff like that. Is that true or are those outdated news?
I think they didn't install clean or modified something in rom or in phone. I don't have any problems and the phone is 2 year old. Try the rom and see if u have a problem.
Ok I tried the Paranoid Android ROM and so far I love it! Hope I find no problems as I use it more these days.

Try all roms available, then choose by yourself what rom you like more or what rom meet your requirements.Roms based on android higher than 4.1.2 have camcorder bug,it is darker. If that is important for you,you should flash stock rom + debloat + cocore kernel or install Harshjelly / Sami OS + cocore kernel.(after my opinion,i recommend you sami os).
