Okay good well so you have got that at least. Have you tried to factory reset and boot into the os that was already on their? because wiping your sd card won't erase the current rom off the phone

Okay that's annoying. Alright so what you need to do is get the ruu file that is for your phone and that will allow you to be back on stock but will most likely install a stock recovery but i recommend that you also make sure you install the drivers to get adb working on your computer if you haven't done that yet.

If you're trying to use adb while in fastboot mode you can't you have to be booted into the recover at the very least to be able to use adb

You can't access adb when in fastboot as I stated but forget that idea and just install the ruu on the phone as you run a program and install it through fastboot, you don't install the ruu in recovery

Alright once you've installed the ruu you can then install the latest twrp recovery and then flash a rom that is compatible with your phone but make sure the ruu file you're downloading is kitkat as it will allow you to install kitkat based roms then as it will install the latest radio firmware and latest hboot. Good luck

If you're on hboot 1.57 then you can't s-off without paying $25 for sunshine but if you're on a lower hboot than 1.57 then you can gain s-off through a custom hboot such as firewater

Yes you need to be s-off to flash an ruu and you need to have the correct cid for the ruu file you've downloaded.
http://firewater-soff.com/instructions/
That link will tell you how to gain s-off but please check what version of hboot you have when you are in fast boot as 1.57 is a bit of a pain to get s-off
And you can look here for the ruu that you downloaded and find what cid you will need to put your phone on to get the ruu to install

So i'm not exactly sure how i did it but somehow I must have deleted the OS on the phone.
I have s-off and it is unlocked but now I can't even boot up the phone. It is just stuck in the bootloader. if i try to boot it tells me that there is no OS installed and do i want to install SU. I have tried both installing it and not installing it. Neither works. It just hangs on the HTC screen till the battery dies and I can't even reboot it at that point. I just have to wait until the battery goes.
Please...does anyone know what I can do? How can I recover? Am I screwed!?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
p.s. I would have posted this in the development page but since I don't have enough posts, it won't let me.
If you still have a custom recovery (twrp/CWM) you can sideload a rom or adb push a rom
Have you tried the 1.29 RUU? Start the program with your phone in Fastboot.

Just re-flash the recovery then you will be good.
Unless you are on 1.29 or 1.31 you will not be able to use the RUU

Go to advanced, then ADB SIDELOAD.
The Rom you want to sideload must be in the same folder location as your ADB

Don't worry about your recovery. If you are s-off, then you can do the RUU. Go follow the instructions on the 1.29 RUU thread. All you need is fastboot. Here is the link:

My current situation is : M7_UL PVT Ship S- On Tampered relocked & unrooted again. No Rom installed, no backup, no recovery!

I tried installing RUU file but it failed, tried two/three different RUUs.
Also tried to achieve S-Off but maybe I'm to dumb & it didn't work.

Im pretty sure you cannot boot into a custom recovery with S-ON
To remove the TAMPERED and LOCK the bootloader, you will have to S-OFF using rumrunner for hboot 1.5x or revone for hboot 1.44
The current Rumrunner can work with a custom rom e.g. the latest version of ARHD or Insertcoin ROM that has an unsecure kernel. To do this though you will have to unlock the bootloader using htcdev and install the custom rom and then S-OFF

Yeah you cant boot .img files any more with s-on or s-off htc removed it in the now HBOOT and fastboot.
Dont panic mate its really easy to fix
Simply download ARHD from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2183023 make sure you have all the latest drivers and everything installed and rename the file to rom.zip you will need TWRP for this i believe and simply boot to recovery (TWRP) and push thw file to your sdcard using adb push rom.zip /sdcard (takes a while) simply flash arhd rom.
Once your phone boots you can use rumrunner.us to s-off the phone. Follow the instructions on their site. Once thats done boot to fastboot and use the command fastboot oem writecid 11111111 you will now have supercid and you can now flash any ruu you like. (unless you need to downgrade hboot.) If thats the case pm me and i can guide you through it on here.

I used to use ARHD but I switched to maximus HD because of the OTA and the 360 camera mod.
So to upgrade firmware you want to boot into fastboot and type "fastboot getvar mid" write it down then go to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2485651 and download the correct version against your mid.
Put it in your adb/fastboot folders and making sure your still in fastboot type "fastboot oem rebootRUU"
Once you phone boots into update mode you will see a HTC logo on your screen and nothing else.
Rename the firmware you just downloaded to firmware.zip and type "fastboot flash zip firmware.zip"
It will say say failed pre hboot update flush image again. Simply type the exact same cmd again "fastboot flash zip firmware.zip" and it will flash the latest firmware.
The progress bar on your phone probably won't go all the way up but as long as cmd says finished its done so just type "fastboot reboot-bootloader" and if you look your main-os will have changed.
That's it.
Your on the latest firmware meaning all the Roms should run smoothly and you should have no more issues with exposed.

One thing I forgot to mention you need super cid so if you havn't already you need to be in fastboot and you need to type "fastboot oem writecid 11111111" and then fastboot reboot-bootloader you cod should have changed to 11111111 allowing you to flash an ruu for any phone now.
Everything done, thanks for your help!

Yeah afraid so. Tbf I don't know of that is the case for every phone but the m7_ul UK edition couldn't get it to work on any device I tried after contacting a friend who I have inside HTC's repair centre he claimed the feature does not work with the latest hboot.
I might see if I can get some other devices from work to test this further and if it is true for all variants then maybe enroll on a workaround

no problem, it might have actually been broken by accident, someone disassembled the code and saw a bad memcpy; sort of lost track of the post though
I did a bad thing. I messed up and erased my inernal memory including my back up. i guess i was used to a phone with an sd card. anyway.. got this thing all rooted up and went to install a rom and reased my internal now my PC wont recognize my ONE. I downloaded the drivers on two different PC's and no luck so I can even sideload a rom. Any way I can get a rom on my phone to flash? I have tried everything I can think of.

Well, the Ruu is running but I wasn't able to get the bootloader locked. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers at least 6 times.... Not sure why I can't get the drivers right

Ok. The Ruu worked even though I wasn't able to relock. Im still unlocked and s-off! Funny thing is that the tampered warning went away. I hope I can just flash twrp and be good to go. Any advise?

How did you get it to work, I'm having the same problem, as in I deleted all of my roms and stuff and all i have is the fastboot and my twrp recovery 2.6.3. Did you get it to work by locking the bootloader. If so how did you get it to re-lock because everytime i try to lock it it keeps saying "fastboot is not an internal or external command" Oh and I have the HTC drivers and Java and the entire SPK files installed too can you please help me
Edit: Oh and by the way I used the Offical HTC RUU I'm going to try OMJ's RUU file, but I'm still unlocked and im S-On still
Update: Everything has been fixed. Thanks to bigdaddy619. The reason why I couldn't get the RUU thing to work was because I was unlocked still and the reason why some people got it to work regardless is because that they were S-off.
I'm posting this for future references because I know that people have got to be messing up like I did. Especially with the 2.6.3 twrp when you do a wipe to flash a new rom they have it to where "Internal memory" is basically in the middle of what you need to wipe and I made a careless mistake and wiped my internal memory and therefore all i had was basically a soft brick.
Again I would like to thank Bigdaddy619 he saved me from having to buy another phone. So in case if anyone is going through the same thing or makes the same mistake I hope they refer to this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2503646 or some how find this thread. Or they can maybe get in touch with bigdaddy619

+1 Bigdaddy pointed me in the right direction. In my case, I'm glad that I was s-off. Advice to everyone... Make sure you keep Rom backups on your pc as well especially to those who are used to having an external sd card.

Hello guys im new to the forum so sorry for any mistakes I make. Im trying to unbrick an HTC One M7 (S - ON). By using the command 'fastboot getvar version-main' I found out that the image required by the phone is 1.27.206.1 . I have searched for days but I cant seem to find the correct RUU. I did find it in a thread on XDA forum but the link was broken. Can anyone help me? If the RUU is not available is there any other way to unbrick the device?
Thanks in Advance!
FIXED: Read the summary below
I was able to find the correct RUU but the files available were incomplete. So with a lot of help from clsA and nkk71 I was able to find an alternative solution. The solution was to download the Android Revolution HD rom for HTC One and use ADB SIDELOAD to transfer the file in the internal storage From there on it was a piece of cake!

Did you ask Google ?
http://www.droidviews.com/check-md5sum-of-a-file-on-windows-mac-and-linux/
I got it im going to check it right now. I just wanted to confirm something. When I download an RUU isnt it necessary that the image number is same. Like my image is 1.27.206.1 so shouldnt i use an RUU with the same image?

with S-ON, you'll need an RUU which is same or higher version for your MID+CID, which can be inferred from the .206. = O2 UK
you have 1.27.206.1, so you need and RUU which is higher (or equal) to 1.27.206.1; the 1.27.xxx.1 would refer to the actual software version information, the .xxx. indicates the carrier-branded, region, etc. if the version is greater or equal to 1.27.xxx.1 and the .xxx. is 206 then you can run it.
PS: you'll also need a locked/relocked bootloader with s-on, for the ruu to work

s-off will be harder to achieve once you update to a 4.xx RUU
as for download managers, there are plenty, if you want a free (and pretty decent one), i usually use FireFox + DownThemAll add-in

I used Internet Download manager and again downloaded the .exe but Its still not working. I have downloaded it multiple times and it even passed the MD5 test. However, when i check the properties of the .exe the size and size on disk are different from each other. They are different only by 300 to 400 KB, does this have anything to do with the problem im having?

if the MD5 check passed (ie the file you downloaded gives an MD5 hash = 4961fdbbadba53c9640f3638f56faec1) then the file is good.
but the 4.xx RUUs are known to be very sensitive to PC configuration, USB ports, etc. so you should try it with a plain vanilla setup of Windows 7 + USB2 port.
Though (just a thought), why not flash a custom recovery and ROM to get your device back to life, (and possibly even S-OFF).... how did you brick it anyway?
can you also post a "fastboot getvar all" (excluding IMEI and s/n)

why don't you go ahead and:
1- unlock bootloader
2- flash custom recovery
3- flash custom ROM
4- get s-off
5- enjoy
how does that sound?

That sounds good ! Just need to confirm that the bootloader on this phone is relocked not locked. do i need to visit htcdev and follow the protocol to unlock it? secondly by custom recovery you mean CWM or TWRP? I already have TWRP on the phone.

to unlock (with s-on), yes you'd need to HTCdev again, BUT if you already have TWRP installed, i recommend you flash the following ROM:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=48955645&postcount=251
you can either push it or sideload it to TWRP, once it boots up, use revone to s-off
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2314582
revone will also allow to unlock bootloader
once you have s-off, the options are almost limitless, but please remember to flash only things meant for your phone/modelid ... flashing a wrong hboot for example will end up bricking your phone (not trying to scare you but don't think just cause you have s-off, you can now flash an HTC M8 firmware/hboot)

as long as you already have custom recovery on your phone, it should work (honestly, i've never tried, but it should work)
one of the reasons for HTCdev unlock, is to get a custom recovery on your phone (which you cannot do with S-ON and locked/relocked bootloader)
good luck
Well i dun goofed. I tried to flash the furnace kernel to overclock my HTC one m8 but it got stuck on the boot screen with red letters saying "This build is for development purposes only Do not distribute outside of HTC without HTC's written permission Failure to comply may lead to legal action" . So then i went into recovery and wiped everything even the os. to try to fix it now am stuck here with a phone without an OS and dont know how to fix it.
Details on the phone-
Its rooted and has an unlocked bootloader
S-on
Please help me fix my phone
Is the rom.zip still on your sdcard?
If not you can either mount usb storage while booted to twrp or adb push the rom also while in twrp.
BTW you could have dirty flashed the rom and it would have fixed the problem.
