Is there any ROMs for the Samsung Galaxy s5 cricket wireless? I have it rooted and installed a custom recovery, but can't seem to find a ROM.

How did you root? Chainfire's method or towelroot? I think I might get a Cricket S5 if the bootloader is unlocked.

I used towelroot and it worked. I also got the att ROM installed and everything works great. Right now I'm using dynamic kat 4.0

O.K. I don't think Towelroot will work for a new Cricket S5. I was hoping that the bootloader was unlocked. Thanks for the info.

Okay. So I recently updated my Galaxy S4 Active, SGH-I537 from 4.2.2, to 4.4.2.
After doing so, I decided to take a turn, and root my device. I used the new popular method, TowelRoot.apk
I was able to successfully root my device with a breeze, then I looked up some recovery's for the device. I found this thread on the website on specifically the S4 Active. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2387980
My confusion at this moment is, it seems to be everyone who updated there S4 Active is now on Samsung-SGH-I9259 but yet, I am still running on SGH-I537. My phone's version is 4.4.2, but it isn't I9259, how does one fix this issue?
SGH-I537 is the model for the US, SGH-I9259 is the European model. They are not interchangeable.

You will need SuperSU and Busybox before safestrap will install properly.

It is our blessing and our curse. Whether it is the chip or a combination of our different chip and locked bootloader, there is no way to root the SM-T807V just yet, or should I say I have not seen a way to root it without tripping Knox.
The only reason it can't be rooted is because of the locked bootloader.
Kingroot is the only option for locked devices at the moment, but only works on kitkat.

I hate to disagree with you but I tried to use Kingroot on KitKat 4.4.2 and it did not work. I tried both the PC version of Kingroot and the OTA version with no luck on KitKat.

I didn't say kingroot would definitely work. I said Verizon devices can't be rooted because of the locked bootloader, but kingroot only works on kitkat devices. Nobody here has had success on lollipop yet.

Fair enough. The reason I perhaps responded in the manner I did was because in another thread Ihad someone tell me that the locked bootloader made no difference and that Kingroot would work with the locked bootloader. Well as I keep saying Kingroot did not work with the locked bootloader regardless if I tried it on Kit Kat or Lollipop. Ieven tried it again last night and I keep getting the message screen telling me it failed but research info was sent with the picture of an envelope. I guess it also claims that they have received over 10k updates with info regarding devices on which it has not worked.

Hello. I'm not sure if this in the right section if it isn't I'm sorry. Anyways I just recently updated my AT&T Galaxy s5 g900a to lollipop 5.0 and it sucks pretty bad, the color scheme is terrible for my eyes and its just not something I want to get used to. Is there anyway to downgrade back to kitkat on the g900a? If so can you please help, thank you.

If you updated via OTA, unfortunately no, there is no way to downgrade. If you upgraded via a method here on XDA, you should be able to ODIN back to KK. Good luck.

Thanks, I heard that using the s5 with AT&T has a locked bootloader is that a problem or are there ways around that?

Yes it's locked. That's why such a pain to do things. There are workarounds, like safestrap and flashfire, but both of those are limited in what you can flash because of the locked bootloader. You'll have to look around and see what you're most comfortable with. But like I said, if you're using the latest Android version via OTA, there is no workaround that will work. Thanks AT&T
I purchased my friends S5 which was from AT&T and then I used the BYOP plan with Straight Talk. How do I root this? I tried Towelroot and it says its not supported. Also what ROMs can I get with this if any? I want to root to get rid of all the at&t pre installed apps on here that I cant use with Straight talk. Also pretty new to this. I have Odin on my laptop from installing stock firmware on my S3. Any help with root and ROMs would be much appreciated.
Good morning bump
Need model and ROM version.

I imagine you are on the latest Nougat since we can't stop the upgrade/update... Rooting was only available on older versions like 5.1.1 Lollipop.

The S4. I figure it's a better device to start with than bricking my S6 Edge. Lol. I can't free up the bootloader on the S4 though I got it rooted but bootloader isnt unlocked
Verizon locks the bootloader on their phones
