I noticed the Camera app will display this message and not let you take any photos with 5% or less battery remaining. Workaround is to use 3rd party app such as Google Camera or others. This is on a S5 Active.

I don't know what it is, but I'd really like to know as well. Mine is always up pretty high along with media, and I don't know what either one is.
Is this normal? I never seen this on any of my other phones or tablets

That's strange. Can't figure out why it would be so high. I don't even have it showing up on my battery stats and I do have full notifications enabled for it.
That is not normal behavior. I would reboot it and if that doesn't clear it up, then clear G+ data in the app and re-sign in.
Yesterday I've updated my S6 to 6.0.1 and I've noticed that Camera FV-5 has a limit for the resolution of the photos that is setted to 8Mpx.
Do you have the same problem?

Here is my usage on a charge screen on time over 6 hours with Netflix over 1 hour and spotify almost a 1/2 hour. All features enabled, email push, GPS, etc.. Battery saver not active, and screen res at middle setting(default).

Just unplugged my device and this app is sucking my battery. Only thing I did was install FB messenger. Wow.
Looks like to was Google photos young tits up after applying latest Substratum theme . First time I've ever felt the Note 8 get warm in temp.
