My moto g 2nd gen acts up sometimes here and there so ill reset it. After i reset it some apps disappear from my home screen and i keep having to put them all back. Anyone else having this problem?
it could be because you installed them on the microsd, so they disappear when you reboot
Wow u forgot i did that.. lol thanks

Your best bet is to wipe your phone and flash a fresh rom onto it. What rom are you using?
its regular updated 2.2 nexus build number FRF91 idk anything else? its not rooted
Oh ok so purely stock.
1. Backup all your contacts:
*Open Contacts app
*Press menu softkey, select Import/Export
*Export your contacts to sd card
2. Go to settings -> privacy -> factory data reset [THIS WILL WIPE ALL DATA ON THE PHONE]
Your phone should restart, and you should be good to go.
thanks bro... why u think its glitching liek that because maybe all the apps i got like 20 from market and task killer? or what can it be? by the way i factory restored it once not because of this problem but jsut to clear all apps quickly... so i just did it lets see how it goes from now....
No problem, I'm here to help.
I remember reading recently that task killers from the market actually may do more harm than good. I don't exactly remember why, but that may be your problem...
P.S. I always thought task killers required root...I guess you learn something new every day
hahaha true true.. so these problem u heard about before or first time?
I've never heard of your specific issue but anything is possible
gotcha so right now i download most apps such as aim, calorie counter, magic marker, pandora, yahoo mail, drink recipe, shazam, shopsavvy, WHERE thats about it.. no task killers no battery displayers no nothing.... hopefully this problem wont occur....
Good. Just send me a PM if you run into the issue again
gotcha.. thanks anyone got any ideas why it would occur..... apps? virus?
Were you using a program to customize the icon? Like Folder Organizer?
nope.. but i did have astro zipper program i had lock up 2.0 i had werid thigns just got a habit of downloading i enedup delting lots but problem occured i just did a factory reset so far no problem.....

From what you're explaining, its seems you're experiencing the touchscreen issue. Most if not all of the N1's have this problem. It's a known defect that HTC chooses not to admit too. As of now there's only a temp fix which is to press the power button on & off. Its a problem that randomly occurs. There's nothing that'll specifically trigger the problem, it just happens when it happens. Flashing to a custom rom will not solve your problem becuz its hardware related. If you haven't voided your warranty in any way, your best bet is too warranty exchange/repair your device until its fixed.
ya im going to call warrernty now and see what the deal is!
Hi,
I've just updated my 2X from v10f to v20d. What I noticed is that the time for the stock launcher to be really responsive is much longer. Before the update, it takes about one minute after booting... now it takes about 3...
What I mean is that the screen as well as the capative buttons does not respond to my touch. Although phone calls can still be received, I just can't initiate any apps...
I'm not sure if it's solely the problem of the launcher, or other issues. Does anyone experience the same and any suggestions?
Thanks
You should do a factory reset, I don't know if you did one, this should help.

+1. I had this issue earlier and a reset fixed it for me.
Just tested mine (upgraded from 10d to 20d).
- 45 secs from pressing power button to unlock screen.
- And about another 20 secs to scan SD cards (16GB external) and set-up root apps.
Had no problem with buttons or opening apps, even when the SD cards were being scanned. Just a slight bit laggy during that 20 secs.
As others said, you might need a factory reset. I had mine factory reset about 3 weeks ago under froyo before the upgrade, perhaps that "washed" away past 8 months of accumulated data junk.
Hi, I'm just wondering if you do a factory reset, will all the data be wiped/erased/gone?
Thanks.

all data on system (like sms, app, phonebook, etc) but not on sdcard (both int and ext
thanks all for your reply
i have found a work-around for this problem. whenever the screen becomes not responsive, i can still pull down the status bar... then i press the home button, and everything would become responsive again... so, i'll live with it before i really need to do a factory reset
and by the way, besides booting up, i also found that the screen would become unresponsive whenever i turn on/off wifi...
Hello,
My phone is almost a month old now and first two weeks were fine no problem at all. Now last few days it has been randomly rebooting itself when I swipe my lockscreen to open. It never does this when I am using the phone only sometimes when I'm unlocking the screen by swiping or just directly go from notifications etc. This happens like twice a day depending how much I use my phone.
I also feel like it first started to happen when I updated it. To be honest I am not sure what it did update. I also installed bunch of apps which I did delete later.
What should I do next? Factory data reset? Or is there a way to see the "crash report" or something to see whats causing it?
tldr; phone randomly reboots after lockscreen, what to do
Thanks.

After the update if some issues show up is recommended to do a Factory Reset. Start do that.

Agreed. If that does not work, re-flash the phone with a stock FTF to start over. If the problem continues after that, it must be some hardware issue.

I did that and didnt get single reboot yesterday. Too bad I didnt try this earlier. Thanks.
I am having the exact same issue.
Here is that I have done that didnt work.
Reset (vol up/pwr)
reset using red button by sim card
factory data reset
software install using pc companion
However, After each one I set the phone back up how I had it. I had the gmail widget on the lock screen. the phone would reboot at random times right after attempting to unlock. I removed the gmail widget and it hasnt happened since! I sat here locking and unlocking for about 15 minutes and it hasnt rebooted.
IN SHORT TRY TO REMOVE THE WIDGETS BEFORE ANYTHING ELSE
Hope this helps

Hi all,
first time poster so please direct me to the right area if I missed this topic being discussed.
Have had a G2 since December. Recently it updated and the clock/weather widget, the Gmail app, and the clear ram widget have all stopped working. Even the lock screen does not show the time anymore.
The phone is not rooted or anything, just a personal use phone.
Tried resetting it and loading into safe mode but it did not fix it.
How can I fix this so my phone functions as normal?
Thanks
So you're actually saying you did a factory data reset?
You had to relogin to your account and reinstall all of your apps?

Alright duder.
Whatever apps are crashing just go to settings/apps/gmail or whatever app and clear data then reboot when you've cleared them all.
Just sounds like a bad update.
Searched the forum but didn't see anyone having the same problem I do.
Just got the Note a few days ago but I have an annoying problem. Whenever I exit and app or unlock the phone to the home screen, the keyboard will just pop up by itself. It'll go away when I hit the back button.
I've tried removing all widgets and apps from the home screen and it still shows up.
Does anyone else have this problem or know of a solution? Thanks.
i dont know on that one.
I had a similar problem with android in general.
Normally i would have the keyboard out and type something then hit back or home and the keyboard would still be there until i hit back again.
Happens a few times here and there on a few different phones.
But it seems like your saying its happening all the time?
Try to clear out the cache and see if that helps it.
Also check the ram on the phone and see if there is any apps staying in the memory that could be the cause. (3rd parts apps)

I just rebooted for the first time since getting the phone. The problem has seemed to go away.... for now. Should have done that before creating a new thread lol.
