Yes, for CM 10.2, its possible ?
Icon packs are new to cm11 theme engine.
You can replace the icons with the old template for cm10.2 or you could use vr theme template

Thanks for informations :good:
(Have you a link?)
What are you going to work on? Vr is far easier to do but you need 9png skills and zip making too. You can use the template i have used to make my slimkat theme's if you want? Just replace file's with what you're working on zip and flash. Easy as that.
Link to vr theme thread..

I know how to make flashable zip in recovery and for the case of images (icons), I have already extracted the theme
So in the end could you pass me the link of the template for CM 10.2 and I'll tell you if I have problems?
Is this for you're own use or release

No problem.
I don't understand, its an theme template for CM 10.2 but its not icon pack template ?
There is no icon pack for cm10.2 only cm11. You can change the icons in cm10.2 with a theme template but restrictions on only having that theme set. or with a zip like vr.
My advice is to move to cm11 theme engine and make for that not tbh an out of date android version..but that's up to you. Soon 5.0 is out so 10.2 will be very out of date.

Ok ok i understand
@andrewwright I have start my project: make icon pack theme from a CM theme, so i'll tell you how I do it and if you can tell me if I do things well as it should, it would be nice of you
So i have decompile the CM theme with apktool and i take the pictures names, i copy & past it in "appfilter.xml" file, so add for exemple this line:

I help me of this website:
http://activities.tundem.com/
If i can, i take the activity name of an app with Apex launcher..
Is what I need to do differently?
Yeah ... I am also using this tutorial:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1649891
Thanks
Add these lines mate.

may somebody make a theme template of cyans latest 4.2.11.1 for me cant seem to find it on his post nor website since he doesnt make them anymore :/
greatly aprreciated thanks
just download any theme that is for CM-4.2.11.1 and start replacing the images with the ones you want for your theme. I dont really know if Cyan is still putting out theme templates, i havent seen one in a while.
-BMFC
yeah i just did that...now to take out the google apps from the htc rom :/
making a little Gnome-ish theme
Make sure to post it up id like to see it =)
I have a default cm theme template I do for each rom updates. Mostly for my own themes use and to get back to stock when things break by flashing themes. It only has like open source apps though, so it doesn't come with stuff like gmail and market and youtube and such. You can always add the apk you theme of it inside the /app folder and sign it again if you want to do that.
I could upload it and post it if anyone wants.

it would un-theme every .apk that is in that .zip. I think there is a stock metamorph somewhere, you could take every image out of the folders except for the app icon image and do it that way.
oh ok...thanks man

It'll only get you back to default cyan rom if the sirmez theme didn't touch any of the google apps. Otherwise you'll see most things back to default and things like gmail/youtube/market may stay themed.
Hi,
can someone port over the theme MattedBlues for the CM 7 Theme chooser ?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=768848
+1
I love this theme and wish this for my Desire
+1 on that one!
+1 I would love this as well I used to use it but ever since CM7 came out with the theme chooser I dont really flash anymore.
But we need to make sure the Dev is okay with it.
Hey everyone,
As one of the devs for MattedBlues I can tell you I'm working on it but I'm not very happy that the Theme Chooser can't theme everything a flashable zip can. What's probably going to end up happening is one of two things:
1: MB gets ported to the Theme Chooser and is missing some things
or
2: MB gets ported to the Theme Chooser and a MetaMorph will be supplied to theme what the Theme Chooser can't theme.
Until then, stay tuned.

Nice, can't wait!
Also, if you guys want to you can fairly easily port the theme to your phones. Basically you just merge the files in SystemUI.apk and framework-res.apk with the files from the original CM7 ROM and you are golden!
I don't know if you are allowed to do that, but I can't seem to figure out why you wouldn't be. As long as you don't redistribute it.

Thanks for the tip! What exactly do you mean by merge? Do I just delete the to apk's from the theme zip and replace them with the ones from the CM7 zip? Or do I need some program to actually merge them?

You open the .apk from the theme (using something like WinRAR) and then you open the .apk from the ROM and simply drag the files from the themed .apk over to the ROM's .apk. Then you put the ROM's .apk (the one that you now have merged with the themed .apk) where the themed .apk was. Then simply flash the .zip.
Hope you understand, got kind of messy. If you do not, I can make it for you!

odexed or deodexed ?
Open /SystemUI/res/values/drawables.xml with Notepad++ and edit this line to get transparency you need, for example, 100% transparent:
Code:

#00000000

#00000000 - 100% transparency
#3F000000 - 75% transparency

In image method: He should use any photo editor.
In xml method: He should just change the hex color code.
Just a suggestion that you can edit the op and create 2 methods for this, Method 1 is image method and Method 2 is xml method.

There is no need to do modding with smali files for getting transparency. The icons are only for MDPI devices. I have resized the icons according to my device.

Try these steps:
Decompile your launcher
open res/values/styles.xml
add this style
Code:

now open AndroidManifest.xml
find this line (this line may be different in your rom)
Code:
<application android:label="@string/application_name" android:icon="@drawable/ic_launcher_home" android:name="LauncherApplication">
add this code in that line
Code:
android:theme="@style/My.Theme"
Now that line will look like this
Code:
<application [COLOR="Red"]android:theme="@style/My.Theme"[/COLOR] android:label="@string/application_name" android:icon="@drawable/ic_launcher_home" android:name="LauncherApplication">

I'm working on it. Thanks a lot man! Good news is that it doesn't look too hard, was expecting a whole lot of changes.
VTS doesn't work with it yet, going to use the traditional way of apktool + zipalign, etc.

I would love to work on it now, but ISP at home being a nuisance and I can't get a solid network.
A 30 second 300mb ROM download became an 18 hour hell. I'll wait for tomorrow!
But anyways, thanks for the template.
? I am fairly new to theme engine but not to theming. Since lollipop the directories of apps have changed.. do they need to changed as well in the assets folder? Also, what is the difference between the android folder and the common folder..
Edit: NVm answer my last two ?'s

I got it to work. I did it using apktool and just decompiling and compiling at first, which breaks it.
Try using the VTS method: http://www.google.com/url?q=http://...sntz=1&usg=AFQjCNEzP-AyZs2p-tpyu2USGFsUi5DTGw
Works wonders, except I find too many transparent "new" variables inside, keeps failing to install into Theme chooser when i remove them.
Here's another working template http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3005025

Eeek I would not necessarily say this is a template. I know you prob meant no harm but his second post advises you not to use it as your base.. So for that matter I would not. But thanks for the link. Once I get home I will build my own and post it here so everyone can use.
