I noticed with my HTC One that when I turn the optimize battery mode, the screen timeout is almost always 15 sec even though I set it to 1 min. The same thing with light adjusted to automatic and changes the next time I check. Is this because I turn the optimize batter mode?

how much diffrence between Auto backlight&manual in battery consuming
is there any experience ???
nobody knows?
One week ago, I changed the option for backlight to 5 min instead of normal 30sec. I even changed the backlight on while making calls (tweak cabfile). I don't notice any more batteryconsumption. This is a overall experience.
I think more brightness on the display will be more battery consuming than backlight settings.

Thanks! I think you are right
What ever option you choose that cuts Electricity flow saves Batts.
So yes turning the screen all the way down when only doing calls and at night helps a lot!
Note also that the auto-dim function doesn't ever dim the light right down (no matter how dark it gets) - the lowest it reaches is equivalent to the manual brightness level 3.

How long does it take the n1 to hit standby time after locking the screen? On set CPU I got standby's min and Max at the lowest settings. I think after I get somekind of notification the phone comes out of standby even the the screen stays on.
As you can see in the SS, Is this normal? I'm using auto brightness and I didn't enabled the screen rotate. It seems really weird.

I'm on the turkish RUU (official)
sense 3.0
Small notice: I'm tracking the phone with Cpu Spy and I'm sure phone can get into deep sleep.
Yes thats normal
I think its because of the LCD technology
And the backlight
I get around that on my phone too
My phone is 85% deep sleep using CPU spy and my screen takes 60% in battery stats.

I did not use auto brightness and instead I'm using *QBright* from Play Store to manually control my brightness. You can easily change the brightness by holding the search button. With auto brightness turn off, the sensor no longer drain your battery the moment you turn on the screen.
When I set timeout screen to a specific time than approximately 10 seconds before timeout takes place the brightness of the screen gets dimmed.
Is it possible to set the brightness of this (I don't know how to call this)?
Is my question not clear? There must be a way to change this. Maybe by users, but probably by developers.
I found out where to change this pre lockscreen brightness dimmer settings.
Go to settings/power saver/brightness.
There you can change it in steps of 10%, 20%, 30%, 50%.
You can also change the starting time: 15, 30, 60 seconds.
I normally have my brightnes settings set to 20% (if you choose auto-settings, pre brightness settings don't work)
I rather have this pre lockscreen brightness settings set to 5% or 1% or screen off if possible.
Is there a way to make this happen?
It would be perfect to use because once the HDMI cable is attached the screen will never turn off.
Only by pressing the power button, but this will also terminate the external mirrored image.

Excellent! Just what I was looking for but didn't think it would exist. Thanks for helping!
hello. today I saw that after playing and the screen is blackened . I always bring the manual and the maximum brightness . happens you know ?
Maybe your low battery mode was on...
As far as the device gets warmer, the screen dims automatically to prevent overheating.
