build7 always brick my phone
hi
i'm trying to install build 7.
My phone has locked bootloader. Installed version is #build6.
I have used philz recovery to flash build 7. To flash #build7 takes 2 minutes long.
After flashing, i reboot the phone using reset recovery option of philz.
Phone gets stuck, black screen, without sony logo, and i have to reflash to .207 stock rom using flashtool.
What am i doing wrong?
thanks in advance.

Right. Got me confused there, as I was already pretty sure kernels are just for UBL. Why use the LBL version of CM11 on UBL then?

I guess it just happens sometimes. When I first flashed build #6 with twrp, everything went well, but something must have got corrupted along the way as the phone was stuck on Sony logo, and the screen just went gradually from orange tint to black from there on with continuous reboot loop. Fresh install helped though. And I've done everything the same.
Go back to stock, root, install recoveries, wipe cache, dalvik and system and install build #7. Should work just fine.
P. S. Another question from me, maybe not entirely related to only this ROM, but to flashing ROMs while using link2SD in general, as I'm sure some of you guys are using it. Is there any way to avoid some apps getting totally borked after each update? I know you need to recreate the mount scripts after flashing, but it just doesn't work for select apps each time, and I have to go through a tedious process of unlinking each one that is screwed, rebooting, and relinking. It's getting annoying with weekly updates (Thumbs up MRSteve <3).

Not sure if it's an issue with the nightly build you were working with this time, or something's actually wrong with build #7, but I don't seem to be able to install any CM Theme. Each and every one of them seems to install just fine, only to spit out "Failed to install <appname>" notification after a minute.
Anyone having this problem aswell?

This ROM or CM11 Official ?
Wich is better ? Keep my bootloader locked and use that ROM or unlock my bootloader and flash the latest CM11 Official Snapshot (M11) ? Few months, i flashed CM11 for locked bootloader and I had lot of anoying bugs/freezes. Can I expect better with that ROM ?
Thank's and sorry for my bad english.
This ROM is completely stable, and has no apparent bugs whatsoever. The only thing I noticed is worse than stock is the battery life.

Why on earth did you do that!? You'll need a computer with you. You will sadly however, have to start from the beginning. Get a stock ROM .ftf, flash it via Flashtool, then start over (root, install CWM, flash CM11 weekly build by MrSteve555)
The reason why your phone is bricked is because you have flashed a ROM for unlocked bootloaders (this being said is the M11 that you updated your phone). Your device does not have an unlocked bootloader. It does not start up due to the kernel installed on your phone is not stock (cyanogenmod's official kernel of course). On locked bootloaders, using a custom kernel is impossible and will cause bricks.

I haven't used Official CM11 on my SP, as my bootloader is locked, so it's not me to ask. For me, the phones eats through battery really fast, with screen on, it's like 10 minutes for 1%. Definetely not a days worth of use when gaming.

Hello guys, i have been playing around with the new offical 4.3 rom, I have found a little way for now to get rooted, take a look below...
***Disclaimer, I am not responsible if you blow up your phone, loose data, or do anything silly, I am merely trying to help, and point people in the right direction***
Okay it's a long winded approach to get rooted, but i guess it will have to do for the time being... Until a new updated rooting tool is available.
Here we go then , you will need these things:
SuperSU Install zip
Doomkernel v08 kernel.elf file
Stock Sony 4.3 kernel, attached to this post.
UBL (Unlocked Boot Loader!)
A brain and common sense.
Lets go then, first install the stock android 4.3 FTF....
Once this is done disconnect your phone, put it into fastboot mode and install the Doomkernel. Now upon boot, go into recovery, and install the SuperSU zip normally.
Once this is done, power off your phone (Holding down the power and volume up)
Go into Fastboot mode again, and install the provided stock Sony 4.3 Kernel.
Unplug your phone, boot it, and there you go, rooted stock android 4.3.
If you have any questions ask, no question is too stupid, or PM me and i'll help you best I can.

I guess its only for unlocked bootloaders, because after flashing custom kernel on locked BL xperia, it won't boot.

No this method is only for Unlocked bootloader.
V7 should work just fine, all we are after is the recovery to flash the SuperSU
Thanks a lot it's working
Never did before on sony and the biggest problem for me was entering in recovery, so just in case, to enter recovery, when LED is pink press {vol up for 2012 models} or {vol down for 2011 models}

I had to install a nandroid of the ROM I was using, to get back to the old kernel . yet still not work for me the Aptoide when you used to and is giving me error in the camera application and stops , so I will try to reinstall everything from 0 and see if it works with the kernel stock and try again with this kernel and see if it stops me working again , if you work then it is not kernel problem , but if i happens again I will have to return to report the error or maybe it's something else that I am installed causing this conflict but I doubt it because I install very basic things ...

I'll post a LP version tomorrow. it's working fine. The current is kitkat.
Amazing kernel indeed, only thing missing is RGB color correction, because of purple-ish color on low brightnes settings. Keep on good work!
I'm using Battery by Macropinch to monitor amperage. The latest kernel using the smartmax governor, I'm happy to report, is dipping into the 100mA range quite frequently with wifi and LTE on using the the 1-15-2015 cm12 build. I was getting upset that my cheap Huawei Y536A1 LTE phone was hitting this range on stock and lasting two days on a single charge and my Moto X was staying in the 400-500mA without even touching it, but now I think I think this is a good early indication that we can be seeing good idle and casual use power drain on the moto x. Cheers!
PS: I never post, I didn't mean to post this in the Q&A section. How do I delete it?

How to bring back SDcard in 20141021 LBL Kitkat ?
Yes I know it was in changelog "remove internal SDcard". However I do not understand the benefit of this change as well as how to mount back my the SDCARD to recover my Titanium data?
Please help.
Thank you.
Please help me guys. My phone cannot detect my sdcard. Plzz im kinda scared......
. Please again. Its not detected when connected to the pc as well.. However it does get detected in cwm.
OK I start to understand the point of removing the SDCARD external to merging it with DATA. It fouls phone to think it has plenty of space.
However I also cannot access the internal SDCARD when connected to the PC. Which is a problem.
Could we have a bit more clarity about the consequence and how to deal with this choice? That will help many users.
Thank you.

As you're running Bagyusz version then there is no internal SD anymore, also you need to flash the radio patch in the thread to imporve reception.
MrSteves weeklies version has the radio patch included and still has the ineternal SD card.
Followed the tutorial and it was all going great - amazing work and thanks for all your hard work. CM11 installed and my phone is working great. But I now can't access the CWM by pressing the camera button during boot - whatever I do I go to the CM loading screen and then into the phone as normal. I really need to install the GApps as in (4) but can't - or at least don't know how to. Please help.
Ah don't worry, it worked by setting the reboot options in the developer options and then using the volume up button.

BT problem
Hi,
I don't know where to ask this question, searched for answer but didn't find any. I have a problem with all nexus roms, when I'm connected to my Bluetooth hands-free and use a voice dialling, after I disconnect from BT, I can't hear anything on my phone speaker until I restart it. Anyone else had this problem? Currently I'm on Paranoid rom, .205 kernel with pico gapps and I installed google search from the market.
Also Paranoid rom soft reboots often when I'm in Settings->Applications, anything about this?
And Android system consumes most of my battery, about 35% but battery life is about 4-5 hours so it's ok.
Thank you for your answers.
Does not boot for me. (tried to reflash three times already)
pac rom
Afer flashing the last update of pac-rom, i've got a boaloop (clean flash) i was in omnirom.
Failed flashing .207 kernel on my Sony Xperia SP C5302 | Dead Phone?
So I planned to use PAC ROM on my Xperia SP C5302, so i flashed the given kernel from here using CWM (Clock World Mod) and it makes my phone bootloop.
After managed to turn my phone off by holding power button and push the off button on the back of the phone until a vibration occurs, i searched another kernel on the xda forum and downloaded kernel for my c5302 (kernel_5302_205.sin). Then I flashed it with fast boot mode using flash tool.
After the last flash, now I can't do the following:
1. Turn the phone on
2. access CWM (Clock World Mod)
* No display or LED light when charging
When I hold the power on and the off button on the back of the phone, after a while the phone did vibrates but it didn't show any sign of hope besides the vibration even if I've wait for multiple times.
Any help would really be appreciated!!!
Thanks a lot

Thanks for your reply.
I had tried to get into fast boot mode and flash mode but failed.
SUDDENLY out of the blue, my phone's LED just blinks. Then I rushed trying to connect my phone to my laptop and green LED is showing. So, I flashed it with a kernel that works and successfully booted up the phone and got into CWM.
Then i proceeded with the next step to install the ROM, which is rebooting recovery. But suddenly my phone died, i think it's out of battery... I'll try it again later. Hopefully it works!
Move to SD Card
After finding out that there will be no official Kitkat for SP, I started looking for Custom ROMS and found PAC Rom. With the latest build, how can I move apps to SD card? I managed to do it on the previous build. I've been only using for only less than a month. Thanks
Hey I made an account to ask a quick question here.
First of all I have to say that I'm very much enjoying the PAC Rom I have been currently using RC-3 version and am very pleased with it. But I just had a quick question on how to disable my browser from opening in well sortoff not full screen? it's the best way to describe it, I searched everything in settings and couldn't find what I'm looking for.
Thanks in advance and kind regards.
You have to include it in the Heads up white list of apps. You will find it in settings>pac settings>heads up.

Phone is dead after flashing!
My Xperia Z with rooted stock 5.0.2 has a locked bootloader and xposed installed...
I tried flashing the zip 3 times, with and without formating the Cache, but it didn't work for me!
Fortunately i have still a Firmware on my pc placed so i flashed the original kernel woithout wiping the data...
SORRY BRO, MAYBE ITS BECAUSE OF THE BOOTLOADER

This doesn't happen on stock Lollipop roms. I noticed a few people using that rom having the same problem, so it's likely something the rom creator altered that's causing it. This is the reason that Tom doesn't accept bug reports when you're using modified roms or Xposed.

Yes, it's because your bootloader is locked. Custom kernels require an unlocked bootloader.

You can use Kernel Adiutor. There will be a small delay after boot until DT2W works though, and there won't be a vibration when you unlock.
If you're using SuperSU and want DT2W enabled straight away with vibration, you can use the script I posted in the main thread here.

Yes. If you use the app, then just disable it in the app. If the script, then delete the script from the su.d directory and reboot.

Does anyone use Spotify on a regular basis? The last couple of times I had it on in the car, ten minutes or so into play the music starts kind of skipping and playing funny, the phones heats up quite a bit and it even freezes for a few good seconds when unlocking. I had similar problems back in some stock 4.x.x firmware, I recall it was a general bug that was fixed in the follow up firmware release.
I don't use spotify much so I can´t tell exactly when this started to happen so I just want to rule out the kernel, It worked well in stock 5.0 but there has been a few spotify updates since. Is it working ok for you guys?
question ???

It seems is not kernel related but it is lollipop related: https://community.spotify.com/t5/He...-Distorted-playback-sound-levels/td-p/1028205
To fix it just uncheck the "nuplayer" option in Developer Options in the phone's settings and restart phone.
Kernel works with existenz 2.0.0 rom?
thanks for your work
the same problem with b12 Wear existenc Z v2 you can fix it while under me to thank b11

. Im sorry for posting noob question.
2 days ago i installed this kernel and ultimately fail at undervolting (i set it to -50mv and ran antutu stability test ) it crashed so i just reset every setting and hope it went to normal . However ,Even at stock voltage (900mv on 384mhz) i face reboots while stability test . And sometimes it just restarts at lockscreen
So my question is . Why does it still unstable even on my stock voltage ?
My cpu is PVS : 1
Undervolting done using kernel auditor

Try Factory Reset, or reflash FTF... If still unstable, you have probably damaged hardware. Under voltage is just as dangerous as over voltage...
