I have gone to the XDA sites, and just about all of them and I did as instructed, I even tried troubleshooting multiple times. Whether it was using framaroot, supersu, even motoroot. All failed and I even downloaded them from my computer and transfered it to my phone. All while following these instructions thoroughly, it always says my device isn't connected and I even installed drivers to recognize it, still nothing. If it would just recognize my Moto i'd be done and have a rooted Moto X. Unfortunately since I am a new user I can't copy links. Ive spent countless hours on this, someone please help me I would REALLY appreciate it.

ok, so i didn't realized this. and yesterday, i updated my verizon system and lost root. so i completely reset my droid bionic. it now has system 5.5.893, and android version 2.3.4 ive tried to re install root with no luck. ive tried petes one click, and forever root. petes says that it succeded, and forever root shows a failure...wait 30 seconds, ect then at the end shows success, but when i try to go into titanium backup.... no root. any suggestions.
btw, ive been 'rooting' though this and other forums for a solution, and finally decided to join so i could ask someone who knows ore about rooting than me...which is most of you. so im the noob. hello all.
any help is greatly appreciated

did you try this using option #1?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1279825
A newer update with version 5.8.894 has been confirmed to not break root.
However, it is hard coded to only be applicable to a fully stock phone (rooted or non rooted, but cannot have been upgraded on kernel, baseband, system, or Webtop).

as soon as you factory reset phone, you need to turn on debugging then use the r3l3as3droot to root using option 2. This option will not work if you flash a system or downgrade system without wiping data first.

That's great news. If nothing else, that Moto isn't just trolling against people who root, and that maybe keeping root won't be a constant battle. Thanks, Motorola.

I have installed drivers, installed programs and read all the topics. However, I can not seem to get the bionic to root correctly/ at all. It says waiting for device on both programs. Little side note, I do not switch between programs without shutting down the computer and the phone and rebooting both before trying again. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advanced
Seeing as how no one will take time from their busy days to help me with this, which by the way was not answered in other posts, mods can delete this please

What OS are you using?
Have you tried moto helper?
So I tried rooting my Samsung Galaxy Note 3 SM-N900A with Odin but it went wrong somewhere along the way and now the phone won't start up. When I try to start up, the screen says "firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again" But when I tried to recover in Kies, it always gets to the end and then says that the PC can't recognize my mobile device. I can still access download mode but that's about it. I have tried looking EVERYWHERE and there is no solution! someone please help! D:
Also, I found something online that says that I can recover through Odin and I went through the whole process but when I start flashing, it says FAIL so that didn't work for me either
Did you use RDLV on MJ5 to root? If so, that's probably what bricked you.

That just showed off why your phone got bricked. Rooting a phone got some responsibility. Let this be a lesson for you and read before you root. You will need to download the stock firmware and flash this through Odin. I guess you still can enter Download mode?
Wi-Fi Issues
I also need some help here... I did successfully root my note 3, however whenever I install a custom rom such as knoxraid or azure, my wi-fi will not work at all.
The wi-fi will be on from a clean flash, but once I try to connect to any network (I've only tried those with passwords), the wi-fi grays out and I can no longer turn it on or off. I haven't encountered anyone else with the same problem, and I have tried deleting the rom partitions and recreating them.
Disclaimer: I don't have enough posts to post in the dev forums, so that's why I'm posting here. Sorry about that.
Dearest Becky, im so sorry girl..
butchya may be fuct for a lil while let me tell ya why..
This same thing happened to me!!
I looked everywhere for an easy solution BUT THERE IS NONE !! Yet.
The reason why is because there are no easy "Odin back to stock files" yet is because at&t is a fn a-hole and locked the bootloader !!
I brikt my shıt about 4 days after I brought it home from costco.
I combed through the interwebs for the 48 hrs straight like a mad tweaker!! because of course this is our 800 dollar babies we're talking about !!
I kept getting the same error message as you are mentioning about the kies update connect your pc blah and so I tool it back to costco and played dumb and said that I got a notification to update and clicked ok and it did some stuff and "now its stuck on this screen with some error??" .. the lady at the kiosk looked it up and down and said someone else had come in last week with the same error message . LoL !!
I walked out of there with a brand new baby !!
Maybe you can do the same thing? Just hoping you are within your return timeframe.
your last but definitely not last worst case scenerio option is to stick your sim card in another phone and wait till someone from our awesome family here finds away around/through that damn bootloader and drops the beautiful Odin+files to give new birth to your 5.7 beast of an angel !!
Hope this helped in any sort of way. Good luck dear Sister!!
Please let us know how it goes. I think there are many brothers and sisters desperate as F and in ypur same predicament.
This is your best bet.
If you can get into download mode or should work

THANK YOU SO MUCH! this worked :good:
all i did is using kingo, it work perfect.
来自我的 SM-N9005 上的 Tapatalk
Glad it worked
For anyone Reading this thread for similar issues
What probably happened is she attempted to root de LA Vega method while she was on firmware mj5 rdlv method is based on mi9 and die to this it will soft brick your device.
Unfortunately att diff not release an Odin file for mj5 or even put it on kies.
One of or members figured out how to fiddle with the files we have access to to flash a hybrid of mi9 and mj5
Making it possible to more or less recover from an mj5 brick.
Follow his steps completely and you will wind up with a stock rooted os.
But since this is such an odd way to recover I chose to use kingo to root.
Xda doesn't support kingo dir to hour closed they are in their methods and the fact it is not apparent how they are funding themselves. so you'll have to Google it. It was one of the easiest root methods I've done on a device it installs chainfires su. It is completely removable and I personally believe it is the lest chance of a brick method.

Hey all, I have a Bell Atrix HD running stock 4.1.2. Just wondering which (if any) root methods will work for it. I have looked through the root threads but nothing I see says Bell or support for the latest stock firmware.

Just use the Myth Tools package and you should be good to go.
So finally got around to trying this. I tried to root but all root tools say it's not rooted, and Superuser is showing no SU Binary installed. Used the latest mythools.
It says it worked, (found device, etc) but doesn't seem to actually work. I have the latest USB Drivers, Debugging, and Unknown sources. I know the usb cable is good, as I was doing app development before I tried.

This is what Myth Tools uses, but in standalone form. It's called MotoChopper. Myth doesn't work for me either sometimes, but this always does. MotoChopper Click save all in the link and download. Run the "run.bat" file as admin.

I had an original Atrix which died (earpiece speaker) and have had the HD for almost 3 months. I had the original Atrix unlocked, custom firmware, etc but never got around to doing it with this phone. Mainly because this phone has stock 4.1.2 whereas the original only had 2.3.4 as highest (before I unlocked).
Couple questions..
1) The unlock work the same as the original? In that once it's unlocked the stock os will still run no problem then just flash customs via recovery? And to return to stock (not that I should have to) is it as simple as just doing a Recovery install of my current stock, or do I need to RDS a stock image. If so are there stock bell images on here?
2) The Atrix 4g had really bad issues with going up to 4.x roms due to driver support (there was a team making a new kernel from the ground up).. does the HD Suffer from the same sort of problems (No HW Acceleration, Camera/Recording issues, HDMI Issues, etc) or does it run more or less perfect?
@firey21 It depends how long ago you rooted your original Atrix. Last year was good for the Atrix HD, it's so simple to root now. Stock runs fine after unlock and root. Just make sure you do a nandroid backup of your original using your CWM recovery before you flash a new ROM. Are you unlocked? Motopocalypse does that. Click the name for the download. As far as I know, from experience, everything works great. Especially with SlimKat by Tecknofreak. Great ROM I'm currently running.

Hi, I´ve been reading about rooting for some time now.
I had a HTC hero and a desire some years ago and both rooted but I have to catch on with my new moto X XT1092 retdeall.
So I have seen this post on rooting 5.0: http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x-2014/development/tool-moto-x-pure-edition-recovery-t2897819 which states that it will work but I´ll end up with a XT1095 (screwing my modem) if I ever factory reset.
I have seen also this method: http://forum.xda-developers.com/mot...e-edition-superboot-style-root-motox-t2889264 which seems does not involve transforming but I think is for 4.4.4 (please correct me if I´m wrong).
So. What are the chances for us poor XT1092 owners who just want to be free on lollipop and also want to be able to have a factory reset on their phones which does not end up badly?
Not very important but I´m on a mac. I could find a PC if I have to.
Another thing, when I read about backing up IMEI is baseband/modem right?
Thanks
PD: Can someone change that captcha to a thing humans actually can read?
? Lollipop is already out for the 1092. I got it within a couple seconds after turning it on for the first time.
Pretty sure the multitool works fine for 5.0 on 1092. Rooted my phone that way.
