Okay, so I've tried all tutorials on how to make an android icon pack app/template, and none of them has been working due to all tweeks and updates and no tutorial updates, constant code errors in Eclipse and missing files!
I am looking for a tutorial, or some helpful soul who could help me out or teach me how to create an android icon pack. Currently I have made 230+ icons but not able to implement these in an app because of all upcoming errors within these guides I've been trying to follow.
I've uploaded a sample of my icon designs.
Really hope there's someone who could help me out.
why dont you try the1dynasty's icon template.it worked for me

This started out as just a clean and tidy black status bar mod for my own personal use with Dwang's ROM v1.17.1. I wasn't happy with all the black themes out there so I made my own, then decided to get rid of all the gross default orange as well. I ended up putting a bit of effort into it so I thought I'd share it here.
It contains a new boot screen and transparent Eclair launcher tabs by me, as well as various edits of existing images from around the place. I've run everything possible through optipng to keep your phone speedy fast.
I used parts of DBeCe's negrodwang, AndroidFiend's Black Bar, Pay's Black Elegance, cybapaddy's Black Paddy, Ace42's Espresso, xxmonsterx's xxandroidx, bbuchacher's Super D Black and djengizz theme templates so many thanks to all those people for their work. Big appreciation also to Stericson for his MetaMorph app, Ohsaka for his colorChange.jar app, Danation for his thm/xml converter and xenio2000 for making sense of ninepatch (.9.png) files.
Let me know what you think!
BlackAndGreen.zip (1.22Mb) - v2 - http://www.mediafire.com/?fgjwaednmgg
This file is for the old version of MetaMorph which takes THM files. Here's a new XML file - http://jetsons.pastebin.com/8B98y4gH
You'll need Stericson's MetaMorph to apply this theme!
Changelog:
r2 - I'd accidentally left ticker text black. Fixed.
r1 - Initial release
Todo:
- Make the Search box outline green (textbox_search*.9.png)
- Make the orange status bars green (how?)
Modifications:
EternalSoil's gChrome Green Launcher - made to suit this theme
Also the wallpaper in the screenshots is by me. If you'd like it, here it is:
Looks good. Thanks!
Hi Jamie,
Quite glad to see that someone is still working on theming Dwang's - will give it a go, it looks preety cool! Thanks for sharing!
Installing the theme
Hey, how do you install the theme?
I changed the name of the zip file to update and tried to update the image, but it gave me the following error:
E: No signature (580 files)
E: Verification failed
Am I doing the right thing?

This is a Morph, not an update.zip. You need Stericson's Metamorph app as linked above. He's updated the paid version since I released this theme, so now the theme works with the free version.
Hey!
Love this morph! Went just fine on Dwang 1.17.1 and I wish more people did morphs for dwang.
Any chance you would be making other colors?
I decided I didn't like the standard looking launcher tab so I edited AndroidFiend's gChromeRed launcher to be green to go with this theme you made.
I have uploaded it for you to try. Just apply it with MetaMorph on top of the BlackAndGreen.
His red version is HERE
This is also my first time editing any morphs.
Of course the credit goes to AndroidFiend (who was helped by Djengizz)
All I did was change the color.
Thanks
I probably won't do other colors unless there's a massive demand for it. It's easy enough to do anyway, just time consuming. If anyone wants to have a go at it then by all means feel free to use the base I've made.
Cool work on your Launcher mod. I'll add it to the OP
I was going to try and edit it to make it a different color but the .png files are not in rgb, which makes it a long long process to change it from the green. I'm just using GIMP to edit it. Do you know of a quick way to change it?
EDIT:
Figured out it's actually pretty easy. So I'm in the process of changing a bunch.
If anyone's still interested in using this with the newer MetaMorph, I've converted the THM file to XML and chucked a pastebin link in the first post.
I am trying to use a background for a Vanilla lockscreen. I am following this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=6135628&postcount=2209 I know I need a theme control file for Metamorph to work? I do not know how to get that going and started? I followed the directions from another thread and the video on youtube but I still have no idea. I don't want to create themes, just USE themes and mods.
Any help would be great.
Hello All:
I am interested in learning how to make flash-able themes for my Nexus One (preferably for CM ROMs). I am very proficient with Photoshop and designing UI's and am looking to fill in some blanks here.
I am new to the world of android programming (java in general, for that matter) and am looking for help and resources to get me going. I am familiar with the android SDK and am just getting my hands dirty using Eclipse. I am a quick learner and I work very well with others. I also share a passion for design and implementation with all sorts of multimedia.
If anyone would be interested in helping me learn the ropes - I am more than willing to utilize my knowledge to contribute to this great community. I have many ideas and feel that if I could properly grasp the development concepts for android I could even become an asset here like many others who have helped out so much.
Sorry for the long post - any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance,
-TC
So, as expected I've scrounged up as much information as I could find and have what I think is a working theme for CM6 RC3.
Perhaps someone could offer some insight as my questions are now more specific.
I've downloaded a fresh version of CM65 RC3 and edited the files accordingly. From what I gathered I don't need an entire ROMs worth of files just to make a flash-able theme. My first question is now how to I re-sign, say, just the framework-res.apk?
Once again any help would be greatly appreciated.

If the official Android guide, which is the 1st result, will seem too messy - look into the next couple of them.
Thanks VERY much to both of you for the quick responses. I've got the tool - I guess to be more specific, does my .apk HAVE to included any certain files? Or if it just has the files I edited will they be flashed into the ROM without and problems?
Also, I am somewhat familiar with Eclipse - could someone point me in the right direction as to how i can test my theme in the emulator?
are you talking about flashing themes, like a black status bar? or are you talking about actual flashable zip files that you install from recovey mode, like you do when flashing a brand new full ROM?
themes are easy, just use metamorph, zip file with xml file inside along with all your images (png files) you want to change (that was the short version).
to make flashable ROM files, that i dont know.
Well, in the past I've always been partial to themes that have been applied via recovery. I am familiar with MetaMorph but always felt I had better luck using themes with flash-able files.
Hence, why I am attempting to learn this particular method.
My intent is to ultimately customize:
Notificaion Bar + Icons
Custom App Icons
And eventually Apps themselves:
Phone
Contacts
etc...
I surfed through themes and found this link with good themes since am new I dont know how to install them can any one help with the icons and other required in one single zip and instructions to make them.
Thank you

This is a beta release of Theme creator tool. It is a QT based desktop application to edit themes.
Themes created using this tool are compatible with Avatar ROM and Cyanogen ROM. Similarly you can edit both Avatar Themes and Cyanogen themes.
Download the theme apk and open it using the theme creator tool. You will see a screen to edit the resources. After editing the resources, save the apk and install on the device.
What you can do with this tool ?
1. There are 1000's of resources that can be themed in Android. We change only a small set of them and if you want to theme more resources you can use this tool.
2. We make some mistakes when creating a theme. Eg: SMS time stamp color was not proper in some of our themes. You can now use this tool to fix it.
3. We cannot satify all the users with a theme. Eg: If you want to have a darker orange shade in denim theme you can now do it using this tool.
4. You can import an existing theme, change some of the resources we modified and you have a brand new theme.
Upcoming features:
1. Import MiUi mtz theme file and convert it to theme apk which is compatible with AvatarROM and CyanogenROM.
2. Upload your new themes to our server so it can be used by other AvatarROM users.
3. Html5 based new theme creator tool which is more elegant and user friendly.
If you create a new theme and want to upload to our server, send us a PM and we will give access for you to upload the theme.
