Rooted device will still be able to receive update but if you have unlocked your bootloader then you won't receive any update except you relock back but sometime don't work.

Do you know what steps I would need to take to get this OTA? I might skip it completely if it's not simple enough. I'm on NAE, rooted currently. I would probably need to reflash through Odin I assume?

That would be the simplest way. Or you could wait a bit until the NG2 .tar is posted and just Odin that.
Does anyone have the FNG2.tar? Posting it would be greatly appreciated - thanks in advance

i think if you unroot and go back to the stock recovery it will update.
If any one is interested, here his another thread for NG2

Still running fine after FNG2 upgrade.
I'm rooted, got the request to update this morning, I accepted it and so far my phone is OK. I don't know what the update was for.

You will loose root if you "fresh" install with Flashtool.

Use oiriginal services.jar and verifycation should work..or if u use seraja xposed module, disable first then try to install ota.

Stock one, not patched.. If u use seraja xposed then your services.jar is patched..and patched services.jar cant verify OTA update.
I'm on stock rom and just rooted with newroot and installed dual recovery ( NDR utils)
Towelroot
the newroot tool roots the phone with the towelroot exploit...but towelroot makes you unable tu update...you can update manually by using flashtool (you will loose root) after that you flash only the .108 kernel and root with newroot again. After rooting on .108 kernel you flash only .157 kernel than you have new .157 firmware with root
P.S .157 seems to have lot of bugs ... just google this... i stay at .118 (vodafone version of .108) cause .157 doesnt come with new features

Marshmallow 6.0 update for Sprint

Just received an update for Sprint. I'm in northern Indiana.
Was 995MB I believe. Downloaded and updated OTA
Just finished updating. I'll play with it over the weekend and report back if anyone is interested.
(at this point, I really don't care about root or bootloader unlock. I've kinda given up hope for bootloader unlock and figured I'd update since I'll look for another device soon anyway)

So is it Marshmallow?
Did anyone get an error trying to upgrade? I got this error when I tried to upgrade.

I haven't even gotten the update yet. Hmm...that's weird though. Have you tried restarting your phone? Does it show that the download is complete?

I've restarted my phone and then the update message doesn't show up. It does say the download is complete, I tapped "Restart and Install," it counted down from 10 and starting the upgrade then gave me that error message.

I'm not a G4 owner (lurking here trying to decide on my next phone) but it sounds like a bad download. I'd use a file browser and see if you can find the update file on the root of your internal storage. Perhaps deleting it and letting it download again will help. Or update manually as the folks above said.

Should work then, if not you can flash the .TOT file that's in Android development. It's the official version.

Options for AL10 model??

Hello,
I just received the AL10 version and I was curious what can I do for this model number? I am not finding much information in the forums about it.
Mostly, I am just curious if I can install any ROMs on this model and or the Nougat Beta?
Thanks, in advance!
I tried Nougat Beta for L09 on my EVA-AL10 and bricked my phone. I used a factory rom and lost important partitions.
I'd advice against it. Maybe you should wait for them to official launch Nougat for AL10.
But you should just keep a full backup of all the partitions. TWRP backup isn't enough.
Also, if you have a rooted EVA-AL10 phone, please help a brother out: https://forum.xda-developers.com/p9/help/help-rooted-p9-t3534742
