Hi all, i dont know where to watch to check if a kernel is compatible with a 64gb SD card, is it possible to ask a link to a kernel that supports it?

Yap, it works with 64 GB microSD (SanDisk Extreme microSDXC 64 GB in my case). I didn't try it with 128 GB but it should work with that size too (I don't have that much money to just test it, 64 GB is enough for me). :good:

Hey,
I had already posted a topic but the problem is came back !
I explain the problem : when i'm listening music, there are sometimes a "sound crackling". I tried the "Lightning Kernel" but with the last update of CyanogenMod, this kernel produce display problems and the wifi does not work.
So i searched other solutions : i installed "FreeXperia CyanogenMod UNOFFICIAL 337" but the problem is still present
Have you a solution please ? CyanogenMod is a fantastic ROM, and i wouldn't want to uninstall this because of a sound problem.
Thank you !
And sorry if my english is approximately, it is not my official language
I have a similar problem that the sound do a BUZZING sound for 100 milliseconds and not helped by flashing kernels...
So I say this is a ROM bug. Same as me

i didn't noticed anything like that. maybe it drains 1-5% faster bot it's definitely not that noticeable

Does your kernel work with DU/Omni?
Edit: it's won't..

Hey man. That's really worked
Didn't expected this solution
TapaTalked from my Xperia™ Z (C660²) running Dirty Unicorns ROM!
the only solution that worked for me is set minimal cpu freq from to 486, in the infected cyanogemod build no increase much your battery consumption
I can say that this sound problem (bzz) is not a cyanogenmod ROM issue. I already had this bug with official Sony ROM for C6603 with both KitKat 4.4 and Lollipop 5.0 when using Napster
So I think to increase CPU minimum at boot is only a way to reduce the problem.
I try this solution on Cyanogenmod 11, this bzz reduced in number but still stay.
I remember a old phone I had in the past where audio had a special treatment. I notice that on a old Nokia I bought, a DSP are inclued and audio signal was always treated by this DSP and never by the CPU ; Result, 0 bug with audio application. I supose that there is probabely something that CM and Napster on official Sony ROM do not in the correct way in this Xperia Z (dedicated audio hardware ?).
No matter what font I apply, Bold doesn't get changed, it will stay Roboto Bold. And Roboto Bold appears everywhere instead of desired bold font.

If you're assuming I'm using a custom ROM, then no I'm not.
If you're saying applying bold font isn't supported on stock ROMs, I'm perplexed.

LET ME GET THIS CLEAR. YOU ASSUMED I WAS USING A CUSTOM ROM, TO WHICH I REPLIED YOU WERE ASSUMING I WAS USING A CUSTOM ROM. AFTER THAT, YOU ASKED ME TO TRY STOCK ROM. WELL, I AM USING STOCK ROM! THEN, IN THE NEXT REPLY, YOU SAID YOU WERE ASKING ME TO USE CUSTOM ROM, WHAT THE HECK? AND THEN, I SAID YOU WERE ASKING ME TO USE STOCK ROM (STILL, I AM USING STOCK ROM), SO I ASKED YOU "You said "try stock based ROM", doesn't that mean you're asking me to use stock ROM?" YOU REPLIED 'YES'. AGAIN, I TOLD YOU I AM USING STOCK ROM ALL THE WHILE. THEN YOU YELLED AT ME. THANK YOU SO MUCH.

Hey cool down mate!
Stock based ROM doesn't mean fully stock.
Stock based ROM mean a modified and tweaked stock ROM. But those mods and tweaks are effective for the other apps.
And yes I told you to use **ANOTHER** ROM
It's your choice if you used stock based ROM or fully stock ROM like AOSP or PA etc
Not clear enough? See this
You: I'm using a ROM. ifont not working
Me: use another ROM! ANY!!
not clear enough?
Before flashing and other things you may have to try this app https://play.google.com/store/apps/...aller&pcampaignid=APPU_898bVPqVDsfhywOnnYHoBw
It's may be the app problem.......

So, the thing is if you installed some other ROM but you did not liked it and want to revert back to your original ROM you can always restore your ROM only if you had backed up your ROM. Incase if your backed up ROM doesnot restore or you don't have a backup than you use flashtool to install the original version of your ROM. But there is one thing, your guarantee is already broken if you used flashtool or even if you install the other ROM and you don't have the original ROM that came up with your mobile.
Those files are just the original firmwares that developers have downloaded with PC companion and made the ftf file with Flashtool, so that it will be easy to install using flashtool.
So, if your mobile has the original ROM and you have not done anything then always update via your PC Companion or from Settings>>About Phone>>Software update.
For other people they cannot update from that method because they are not allowed due to many reasons and they need those ftf files from the link that you stated.

ok great thanks for your reply...I'm waiting for the phone to arrive (maybe tomorrow) would like to root straight away
whats the best way to go about this ...Unlock the boot loader and then use one of the rooting methods? probably stay with a stock rom to start just to get the hang of the phone .
Been flashing roms on my other phones for ages Galaxy S2 and S3 i9305

Hello there Sony people
a friend is planning to get the Xperia Z and wondering how much free space do we have for apps?(in a stock, brand new phone)
I know the internal is 16gb but how much space can be actually used to install apps?
note: No custom roms, no root...this will just be a clean simple stock phone
thanks :good:
