I just got the acr too and your right, it has crystal clear call recording
incoming and outgoing calls, I must have downloaded 6-7 different
call recorders from the play store and either they don't work at all
or some work but only if the speaker phone is on meaning it actually
records both sides of the call just like any audio recorder would do.
This acr records using line in/out directly using the actual phone
which means the audio quality is excellent and can even be a lot
more excellent by changing the recording format from 3gp to mp4-hq.
It's also nice to only use it to record those calls we want to record instead
of all of them.
The built-in call recorders worked nicely, however none of them had
any options or settings at all and we had to use a file explorer to be
able to play/rename/delete the recordings plus no contact pictures
so without playing the recording we would not know the name of
the caller or the person we called.
Thanks for the info about the call recorder.

For my business I need this for verbal contracts . I also use it for TMOBILE when they get stupid on me.

Which one? Call Recorder - ACR, or Automatic Call Recorder, or other?
I use call recorder (root required) by skvalex. I selected the note 3 profile in it and it works just fine. Both sides of the call are clear and clean in the recording.

So? What about SP kernel? Supports recording or not?
I have interesting experience with different apps. Sometimes my voice is OK and the other side is soooo quiet, sometimes my side is OK and the other voice is sooo distorted...
I test all apps for call recording in sp, and finally found best of them
Stock kernel basically don't allow two way call recording, but there is one add-on that make it possible
Just do this:
Download and install call recorder and find ALSA add-on for call recorder
Then choose ALSA as recording method(root required) and BINGO.....
record all call like a charm

Problem solved. Thank you guys...
I'm wondering if there is a method to enable real call recording on the N6? When I say real call recording, I do not mean using some crappy app from the Google Play Store that using the mic to capture the audio coming out of the speaker.
For example, on the Samsung phones you can enable call recording and it internally records the audio right from the source without the mic needing to hear it making both sides of the call crystal clear.
Thanks!

I think we are stuck with just apps from the play store. I use call recorder pro and it does a decent job. It does great on other phones I have used that weren't running stock google. Really not sure why that is. I could set it to record from the mic and both parties sounded super but if I select that on a stock rom it says call can't be recorded. I just set it to record phone line and the person you are talking to is faint but you can still hear them. Don't know of anything else though.
Callrecorder by Skvalex! Best there is period! His app supports the Nexus 6. It records both sides of the conversation!
But does it use line audio or the mic? Will check out out either way.

I can now confirm that Callrecorder by Skvalex does capture the call line audio (stream) and just not use the microphone like many other apps.
Overall the app is pretty good. It runs as a service and it adds a button to your call dialer, well not adds it but it hovers above your call dialer screen when a call is made or received. You're able adjust the placement of the button or wherever you prefer in the settings.
So if anyone else is looking this works!

Hi,
Did any of you tried to use call recording on this phone?
I know there is no native feature but there are many apps available in Google Play Store.
This for example:

Thanks.

Can you send me a screenshot of settings from your app?
I get weird knocking and slamming while recording.
Hello, I've now tied several call recorders from the app store. But they all just record my side of the conversation. Not the other side.
Anyone know of an app that actually recorded both sides?
Thanks.

Ok, thanks. Did you have to set up anything special on the phone to make sure it recorded both sides?

Ok, this app is also not recording the other side of the phone call. Must be some setting in my phone, as I've tried several apps already. Anyone have a tip for me?

Hi
I use Cube ACR in the settings menu, then recording and choose audio source recorded Voice Call software.
You will have very good recordings in both directions, and with possibility to save on his SD card.
sorry for my bad english

The free version of 'ACR' has worked fine for me on a number of devices and works on my 'stock' Note 8 with the following settings.
i use boaldbest recorder its great!
Послато са Lenovo TB2-X30L уз помоћ Тапатока
I use the built-in Samsung call recorder. You can activate it only if you are rooted though(unless you are with China SCS, then it would work OOTB ), but there won't be a better recorder. It records everything, it has its place in the calling screen, it is integrated with the dialer history..... I hate the recorders which slap an ugly button somewhere on the calling screen. :X :X :X
Total call recorder is good.
The best I used was true caller
truecaller allows unlimited calls recording now, needs paid version!
I'm using this :
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.github.axet.callrecorder
Open source and working well, with many features. Set it and forget it.
Best one I've found and works with BLUETOOTH
Call Recorder - SKVALEX
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.skvalex.cr
I found it thru a developer on here.
One of the few apps I have found worth the money so I bought the license.
I will answer this question based on my 8 year experience with these apps and how much I bought.
For the Note 8:
Boldbeast call recorder is the Best in my opinion. it has various settings and even works on bluetooth headset both way recording where others fail. Add to that that it has regular updates.
In the second place comes Total Recall By Killer Mobile.
In the Third Place comes Call Recorder by Skvalex.
Did anybody test if call recording programs like ACR Cube Call Recorder still work fine with android 10 like it does with android 9? I've contacted Samsung support via Samsung Members and they refused to give me an answer because they say it's still in Beta.
I use Cube ACR and on android q it doesn't record anything. However I haven't tried recording when loud speaker is enabled or with headphones. It could work but needs to be tested. I really hope there will be a workaround for this (without root) but tbh I don't think it will happen
Call recording is blocked from the kernel and is only allowed in certain local versions or custom roms. It has been a long time since it was implemented. It is very likely to be maintained in the new versions because there were very many signs of user dissatisfaction but Google did not react positively.
So I bet it won't work in version 10 either.
I have Android 10 final on Galaxy S10 and Call Recorder not working. Only working Call Recorder Skvalex, but he is comercial.
Changing csc to THL still does the job for the native call recorder. That's what I'm using on 10
Skvakex works for 100%? Never heard of it tho but I'm gonna buy it if it works

It is worked for me. Trial 15 days. You can try.
Thanks, but I'll pass it for now. I've left a bad review on play store for cube acr, and they replied with a message how to set up the app on android q and it works! In case anyone wondering, you have to select voice recognition (software), and then the slider beneath to 100%.

Cube ACR uses Voice communication (software) for Android 9, but also has that option.
As I wrote on an other thread, the bad thing of call recording by Skvakex is about BT recordings, the other side is not recorded.
While the native call recorder (changing the csc) works fine and you can still use SkValex for recorded file managing.
The bad thing on this case, is when Android Auto is connected. Native call recorder does not start when a call is enstablished.
This is with Android 9, but I think nothing is changed with Android 10. I'm afraid that the final solution in any case is root...

As I wrote, even SkValex is good for "normal" calls without root...
No and no.
But so does cube acr which is free.

Same thing if you are on earphones or headphones (wired or bluetooth), it only records your voice, but it's just because the speaker is far from the microphone

They refused because it's not their business to figure out if 3rd party apps work with their software.
