Hi,
I just got my xperia z(Custom number: 1270-6188) update to firmware 10.4.1.B.0.101(Custom number: 1270-0743)), and I found auto-rotation has been not workable.
I installed a app called "android sensor box",and it seems that accelerator sensor and Gyroscope Sensor are not worked totally.
Does this problem occur to anyone else?
it really annoyed me.
Hi,
I'm having the same issue after update to Android 4.4.4 version 10.5.1.A.0.283.
Another phone with version 10.5.A.0.230 it's working fine.
There's a lot of people having the same issues in Sony forums
I'm talking to Sony people at the moment, I'll post any news.
you have an official ROM or a custom ROM?
If you come from a custom ROM I would suggest doing a wipe data / factory rest to remove the problem
Try to recalibrate the sensors.....

:good::good::good:
Hi all,
The device I am using is an Xperia Z C6603 with a locked bootloader that cannot be unlocked.
I have installed a Paranoid android rom and flashed a stock kernel afterwards as I heard that I need to use a stock kernel as I have a locked bootloader? Unfortunately this does not work and my phone is now unusable as I get many error messages popping up, as I have shown in the attached pictures.
I would like to describe the steps I have taken to arrive at this which will hopefully show where I have gone wrong.
First of all, my Xperia Z was running on 4.4. 4 stock (.283 I think), so I flashed the .230 kernel and rooted with easy root tool. Then I flashed the. 283 kernel back and installed SuperSu and updated binaries. Then I installed XZDualRecovery from this page - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2261606
After this, I did a factory reset in recovery, wiped cache and dalvik cache. I then flashed the latest Paranoid Android rom from this link - http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z/orig-development/rom-paranoidandroid-4-4-t2641576 I then flashed the full Gapps and SuperSu afterwards. After doing this, my phone would not boot so I flashed the .283 kernel. Then my phone would boot but it was unusable due to the many error messages popping up, as shown in the attached pictures.
I would be extremely grateful if somebody could help me figure out where I went wrong and how I can have a working custom rom in my phone.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Darkyhero
You can only use stock kernel on stock based roms. Forget cm, pa, AOSP, aokp etc. if you can't unlock bootloader.
Ah ok thank you, so which custom rom can I install on my rooted phone with custom recovery?

If you already unlocked your bootloader so check the Xperia Z Original Android Development. You'll see the custom ROMs there.

Thanks for your reply. The problem is that unfortunately my bootloader is locked and cannot be unlocked. How can I find out which custom roms have stock kernels?
Thanks,

There is no custom ROMs that has stock kernel. Only stock based ROMs has stock kernels. Stock based ROMs means the same stock ROM you are running right now but with some tweaks and some mods. Or ports included. You can find them in the Xperia Z Development Section. Any ROM with [LB/UB] tag so it's stock based. And will work fine or locked bootloader.

Would it be possible to install cm11 on a locked bootloader Xperia Z? Perhaps by flashing stock kernel afterwards?
I found this link for a cm11 rom for locked bootloader Xperia SP so I was wondering whether it would be possible for Xperia Z?

no it is not possible, anything other than stock requires a custom kernel which requires an unlocked bootloader to work on the Z

No. You cannot. Because any AOSP custom ROM will need a custom kernel. And the custom kernel will not work on locked bootloader.
There is a huge difference between SP and Z.

Resurrection nougat is very stable. try cyanogenMod 14.1 or lineageOS 14.1 .

flash stock 4.2 and then with sony mobile flasher flash brand new recovery, i would recommend TWPR 3.0.2.0 and then flash this https://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z/development/rom-official-sony-lollipop-5-1-1-t3196237 (first you need to read whole article and download and save file on your SD), im using it for about 1 month, its awesome. But you can use whatever you want, my solution will just fix you crashing and rebooting problem with cm, lineage or RR!
