[Q] Immersive Nav Bar? - X 2014 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Tried GravityBox and Immerse Me Xposed modules, with no luck. Has anyone had luck yet with immersive mode? I usually just use it on the nav bar to give a little extra screen space.

I've never had a major issue using GravityBox to get Immersive Mode going in most apps, but on apps that I have had a problem forcing it, I've used the Xposed module called "App Settings": http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2437377

Thanks. I did run across that module, too. I'm looking for a way to get the immersive nav bar systemwide, including on the home screen. It's my normal setup, but doesn't seem to work on the X 2014.

Interesting... Only used GB for immersive successfully on my S4.

Used it on the S4 and N5. :good:

I am using the Force Immersive Mode 2.1.1 module that is listed in the Download section of the Xposed Installer app and have not had any problems.

Best/Safest way to hide navbar?

This is my first android with soft buttons, and coming from the DNA's 5" screen I would like to hide the navbar to get more screen space during games. I have root, and I tried GMD auto hide but when I hid the bar the phone just kept crashing. I just downloaded ultimate dynamic navbar and it says the safe way is to get XPOSED and install a module. Where do I find XPOSED? I had a MotoXposed but it didn't have the hid navbar option (and I couldn't get any of the other options to stick anyways) So is anyone out there using an app to hide the navbar on their Moto x? Thanks!

MotoXposed (as well as the option you are talking about in UDN) require the Xposed Framework to be installed. You download Xposed Installer, install the Framework with that app, and then activate the desired modules within that app.
Go nova settings/look and feel/ un check show nav bar.
The option in nova is notification bar! I tried the usual methods. But get system ui errors. Build prop edit will get rid of it, but that's for good.

Yeah, I don't want to get rid of it, just hide it when I don't need it

To do this with Nova Launcher purchase version will be needed. Go to Nova Settings/ Gestures and Buttons/ then pick a gester like swipe down/ Toggle Notification bar. You would have to toggle the Notification bar before opening the app.
I hope this helps.
You can always just hide it using that build.prop edit then use pie launcher (lmt launcher) to be your nav bar

This app will help you hide the navbar, and replace it with Pie gestures when you swipe from the sides of the screen. there's lots of customization that comes with it as well. Have fun!

This app can hide the navbar indeed, but it hide the notification bar and disabled the recent apps interface as well..... Cannot separate these two things......

[Q] Reduce size of on-screen buttons?

Just picked up my M8. Coming from an Evo LTE (Jewel), the size of the on-screen buttons is very frustrating. I keep finding myself typing in the wrong place. Tried immersive mode with an Xposed module, but eh.
I haven't seen a ROM yet that includes smaller on-screen buttons, but I know such a thing exists for other devices, so I can only assume it would be available for the M8.
Does this capability exist yet?;
Have you tried an Auto Hide keys app?

I don't think there's a way to make them smaller without a custom ROM or Xposed module. As soon as ROM development kicks off then we should see much more customizability.
Well, I didn't want to hide them completely; just make them take up less space on the screen. The immersive mode module for Xposed hides the buttons (as well as the status bar), but I'm not sure I want things things hidden all the time.

there is an app called "Dimension123" on the play store. There you can edit the height.

Yeah, sorry. It's an Xposed module not an app on play store. You have to be rooted and using Xposes Installer.
I am using Xposed and this is exactly what I was looking for. Thanks!

It works fine but the usual stuff about keyboard and what not. I could see it being quite good in pro mode if you select apps that don't really require a keyboard only. I don't think it's worth using for me as I use my phone to write things, so having to many all make the keyboard appear is not worth the effort. Works fine though

I didnt get your point bro..keyboard???
I installed on one of my frends xperia z3...it freezes after some time and then no buttons are available.sometimes buttons are available but didnt work.ultimately I have to reboot the device..any issues with anyone??
I use "all in one gestures" to hide the nav bar. I've set it up like this: swipe up from the bottom right or left corner enables/disables immersive mode. That is the most efficient way to quickly hide the nav bar or bring it back when you need the keyboard that I've found. Does not require root!
It's also possible to use other gestures of course. Does not replace GMD gesture control (which requires root), but it's something!

Yes. You select gesture and set it to activate Fullscreen. When you perform the gesture you enter immersive mode. It's nice because you can quickly disable it when you need the keyboard.

[Q] Immersive Mode

Is there any way to enable immersive mode?
If you use Nova Prime you can set it up to always hide the status bar.
I don't believe TW does it on its own.

Hmm. I prefer GNL. I tried getting the Xposed GELs working unsuccessfully. Maybe I will try NP.

anyone know how to get immersive mode to work correctly on Samsung galaxy note 4? currently, i tried using an app and using nova launcher, it hides the icons when using Waze, but there is still an empty black space where the icons were and won't go into full-screen mode?

Transparent status bar.

Can I set it transparent without root? I had it on 5.1.1 but is gone after latest update to MM. Quite often I use power saving mode and grey status bar drives me crazy. It probably doesnt save power anyway.

Yes, that grey bar on top is super annoying. Here's to hoping someone knows how to do it
The grey bar drives me a little crazy too. I was so used to the transparent one. My phone pretty much stays in Power Saving mode so if there's no workaround for it then I'll just have to deal.
Yeah gray bar is stupid.

What apps does this even show up? The only one I have seen it happen is the stock internet app which caused me to start using Chrome.
Use Nova Prime.
flatstatusbar (Xposed Module) if you're rooted and have xposed fixes this. it was driving me nuts too...

Turn off your " Power Saver " is the only way without root.
