So I reverted bac kto ARHD 81 after trying CM11 for a couple months, and as much as I am pleased at going back to Sense, I have encountered 2 really weird and slightly irritating things that my OCD is finding difficult to let slide.
First off, and more important - the 2x3 Calendar widget - for some reason, the "tomorrow, XX Oct" is wrong. Meaning - it will say tomorrow, then put todays date e.g "tomorrow, 17 Oct", even though today is the 17th. Then, the next set of events will be labelled as simply "Saturday, 18th Oct", instead of "tomorrow, 18th". I hope that more or less makes sense, but I am lost as to why the calendar thinks I am at "yesterday" in real terms... Any idea what may be causing the false reporting?
Second - the weather widget (stock HTC, which I have always liked), refuses to update location - this is despite being on high accuracy mode, no location restrictions enforced on HTC apps, and refresh rate set to 1 hour. It simply will not update my location and remain at the city I was at a few days ago when I installed ARHD. Any idea what I can do to get functionality back for this widget?
Many thanks.
EDIT:
Forget it.. I managed to figure it out. I "over-used" the App-ops.. Basically I turned off Location access to the Google Play Store and the HTC Services - there was my answer.
About Calendar widget - for some reason the local network reporting is off.. When I set my time zone manually to another location nearby with the same time - everything is back to normal. Weird, but I can live with that..

NC with CM7 - my first android device. I'm finding that a lot of the widgets I have tried don't seem to refresh. I was really looking forward to homescreen "mission control" with all kinds of info live updating. Things I have tried that don't refresh:
-Yahoo Sportacular - It is still showing some game from 3 weeks ago even after opening the app. Also, is there an option to make it show all scores, not just my favorites?
-HeavensAbove (satellite & space station tracking) - only refreshes if I open the app
-News - I forget the exact name of this builtin android widget, small black box is supposed to be showing news stories, but is a week behind
There are a couple more that I can't remember at the moment.
So, is this a general android issue, a problem with each widget, problem with the nook, ???
Also made sure the sync option in android is set.
I did a couple searches in the forums and couldn't come up with anything.
Thanks!

You using a task killer? If so, stop.
and you might try removing and re-adding the widgets.
No, no task killer. I haven't installed or used one.
I've had issues with widgets too: I tried to add multiple battery widgets, however, none of them would appear under the widgets category in the long-press add to home screen.
New user and I've figured out some stuff but I'm still learning. Tried Glance and am currently using Canvas but one thing I can't seem to get is the weather. It differs on every app I use and is seldom the same as what is showing on my phone. I'd like to get an accurate weather forecast! How do I do that? Are there apps that do weather that I can use outside the 'stock' ones. I have an analog face I'd like to keep but without the weather I'm not so sure.
OK. Seriously? Is there an embargo on answering weather questions? Some taboo I'm not aware of? Cuz I can't get an answer to save my life! Anywhere!
Weather will differ on every app because of several variables:
The apps may be using different sources for weather (e.g. Yahoo, Google, AccuWeather, Weather Channel, etc.) Each service has slightly different data. Even on your phone if you install different weather apps, they will seldom agree 100%.
The refresh period may be set to a long time (e.g. 2-3 hours) to prevent battery drain, and hence you will not get up-to-date information. Some watch apps give you ability to configure this, while others use a hard-coded interval.
Some apps allow you to specify a Zip code, or latitude/longitude coordinates, but most simply use your phone's approximate location to retrieve local weather data. Your location will be inaccurate most of the time, since the apps usually avoid using GPS to once again avoid draining the phone's battery, and instead use cell/WiFi triangulation. This is why sometimes you may even be getting weather data for a different city.
Weather in general is not an exact science, so an "accurate forecast" is a pipe dream.

Understand that. The apps I'm using all use one of two weather programs (Yahoo or OPenweather), you can set the refresh interval (I use one hour). You can choose My Location but I think that's not working the way it should. You can also put in geo coordinates but I'm trying to not get locked into a fixed location if I can. And if you use geo's they are only going to go to the nearest reporting node. I don't want accurate as much as consistent. Where I work is always 5 degrees hotter than where I live. It's also possible the app doesn't work as well as it should.
Absent of any suggestions I guess this will be "the annoyance" for me. Everyone's gotta have one!
I have a few Maps Widgets that I use all the time for common destinations. At some point in the last month or so I realized that the complete address isn't being passed into Maps and I'm curious if I broke something.
For example, if I created the Widget to point to "123 Main St, Anytown, PA 12345" what the navigation actually starts towards is just "Main St, Anytown, PA 12345" and it picks a block at random... So I might get sent towards "[900-1000 block] Main St, etc". Usually that's not enough of a difference to matter but last night it picked something 30 minutes from my real destination. Not good...
I didn't really notice when this started exactly because they are all common destinations and I often don't really pay attention once I'm close. When I leave work and pick the one for home I'm really just curious if the interstate is backed up and I should take the back roads but I don't REALLY pay attention to the directions.
Anyone else? Just me? Did I break something?
Thanks!
P.S. Trying to Google this leads only advice on how to get the most out of Maps... "Top 26 Secret Tips for Google Maps on Android" and that sort of thing so if this is known then my apologies for "wasting time".
Edit to add: PPS: I have deleted and recreated the widgets to no success.
My touchpad is still going strong. Amazing this old dinosaur is still working. Sadly it's too slow to do much with. I tried setting it up for my toddler, but after numerous attempts at games and whatnot we've given up - just too slow.
My wife asked me if I could at least make it into a clock. I thought adding weather to it would be nice. I used to have this working prior to installing the latest tenderloin OS, but can't seem to make it work now.
Running ev_tenderloin-9-userbuild-2019.08.30, been running OK for over a year.
It sits in the wireless charging cradle.
The OS doesn't have the 'always on' option in settings. At least not that I could find.
I can not find an app in the play store (after trying half a dozen) which will
a. Be an always on clock
b. include weather
I did find one app called "Clock Weather Launcher Clean" which seemed to show promise of at least handling the clock side of it because it had a setting to make it always on, but it's a pay now test later app which times out after 3min. no real way to test if I don't want to take the risk of pay now.
Anyone have any suggestions to making this work?
As always, thanks in advance.
woops, sorry mods, double post, please delete this one
My Pixel 7's weather widget on the lock screen would be useful if it got my location right.
Every time I tap it, it shows the weather for 'My Location', but it thinks I'm in Greater London. Thing is I'm about 160 miles away in South Wales.
I've got all the location permissions set to allow, in Google etc.
I can add my real location as a saved one, but it fails to take this as default.
With Google maps, it picks up my location correctly, so I can't see why the widget doesn't.
Any info as to make it work correctly.
Thanks

Between that and metadata completely broken for me, kinda regretting this phone.
This seems to have fixed itself!
This morning the widget still thought I was in Greater London, but now it finds me correctly!
Android Device Policy got updated via the Play Store ( I have auto update off as a couple of apps lose functionality when on their latest versions), and when I used the Assistant (long press on home button) it needed a download and asked me to sign in.
Since then it appears to work
Another quirk to this is if on mobile data (4G in my area) I asked the assistant "where am I ", it came back as Greater London, repeating this on when connected to my home WiFi it replied "Cardiff", which is approx 20 miles away, a lot closer but still a bit off.
Re-testing this and its the same
