[Q] i want to flash my stock rom again!! - Moto X Q&A

I am currently using pacman rom on xt1052. I want my moto voice and active display back on my phone. Is there any rom that supports moto voice?? Or do i have to flash it to my stock rom again?? Pls send me the link to download the stock rom for xt1052. URGENT!! PLS HELP

You should check out a stock-based Rom. Off the top of my head I know of Epsilon and Krypton. They start with the stock Rom, remove bloat, tweak some things, and end up with all the functionality and stability of stock with usually a little better battery life and performance.

See this stickied guide from general section... The returning to stock section,

[Q] Is there point in updating

Hello,
I have a Galaxy S and I was just wondering, is there much point updating to a custom ROM as it's on the latest firmware from OTA (2.2) & if so what's the best custom rom available at the moment?
cheers,
Kevin.
Hi...
Im new in the SGS rooting too, but I guess my answer goes for any brand of mobile, when regarding to running a custom ROM.
With a custom ROM you get a "cleaner" ROM. you can choose which one suites you best, and often, the ROM is deoxed e.g. and is running much smother, than any stock ROM.
Regarding my choice, Im going for Darky's ROM.
I often look at which ROM people use the most, but also, if its build on stoc ROM og stock android ROM. If it is stock android ROM and you are planning on using a custom UI (ADW launcher e.g.) hte phone wont take up place with Touch Wiz UI
okay, so I've decided to use Darky's ROM - but on the tutorial it says to install Recovery2e (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=788108) I downloaded it and extracted it but it's a zImage file as opposed to a .tar file

Just bought galaxy S

Hello,
I just bought a galaxy S from a friend. At the moment, the phone is running stock gingerbread.
1. Which rom and kernel would suite me? I do heavy texting and internet use. And normal gaming.I prefer customization and beauty and trying new lock screens. Which rom would be suitable for me?
2. Where can I find a guide/tutorial for installing custom rom and kernel??
3. When changing roms, if I back up my apps with titanium pro and restore on the new rom, they will work fine?
4. What are voodoo fix and lag fix?? DO I need to install them separately? And how do I install them?
Thanx alot.
i think u should try MIUI ROM IT HAS ALMOST 100S OF LOCKSCREEN THEMES.....FOR FLASHING ROM TUTORIAL GO TO Samsung galaxy s development forum there u will find everything....

[Q] Performance difference from stock to custom rom?

Hello everyone!!
Just a quick question for everyone here. I purchased my note a couple months and it came rooted with Paranoid. Since then I have tried a whole lot of roms since then. But they all seem to lag at one point. Even with OC
My work phone is a Galaxy S2. With the ICS upgrade from Bell, the phone is a rocket. Bone stock, battery life is great and the Quadrant results are fantastic.
If stock ICS is faster, smoother, and overall better experience, how would I go about installing it? I'm assuming Odin, and Sammobile.com. But what files should I be searching for? Can I install any .tar file? Im more worried about getting English on the phone after I install ICS from another country lol.
Im familiar with CWM. But not too familiar with Odin yet. I just want to make sure I get the right files.
Don't try anything with Odin and or stock ics roms as you can get a unsafe kernel and brick your phone.. Most likely you can flash with cwm every rom in dev section.. Try cyanogenmod9 its awesome.. And buttery smooth
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium
Stock ICS is not smoother, faster and more stable it just seems so because of touchwiz's stmooth performance.(Also, if stock ICS was a better experience then nobody would be searching and making custom ROMs ) CM9 is much better and is more stable too.
Also it's better to stay away from stock ICS as it may come with an unsafe kernel--rather it will come with an unsafe kernel, as the guy above said.Anyways, that's just my my opinion.
If you wanna install a stock ICS rom, I'd go about flashing a stock GB ROM and then flashing the stock ICS ROM using Kies. For stock GB roms, check out dr.ketan's thread.

[Q] Help with flashing a stock?

Hello all developers hope you're having a good day/evening
Briefly.. I had enough of ROMs that get wrecked by themselves and I want to flash back to STOCK GB :cyclops: and MOD it the way I want.
So I need the most stable stock, I've heard that value backs drains battery faster tho :'/
Please provide me the ROM with it's link. XWJW8 doesn't even accept any kernel I flash and idk why!
And is there any 2.3.6 that has an Arabic interface?

1. Yes, you can use it as long as you want
2. Which rom are you using?
3. You need to run android 2.3.x at least, because you need CWM 5.x.x.x to flash the latest custom roms
Here a useful thread where you'll find llots of info (How to root, install CWM 5.0.2.6 Fixed, flash a stock rom via Odin...and lots of tips )

can you please kindly tell me which rom has a bugless? coz i have tried reading some of the custom roms even outside the forum ., some roms has a bug like camera ,wifi etc. all i need is a custom rom which is based on a stock rom but have changes or tweaks like removed the useless apps. im running on GB 2.3.4 and i want it to upgrade it to higher version but a stock rom with a tweak, because nothing beats a stock rom i guess ^^
