S Studio removed with update? - T-Mobile Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Did the update remove the s studio app or did I accidentally remove it? can any one confirm this. i liked that app to make collage for instagram.

In the gallery, go to the menu. There should be a tab that says studio

Made mistake of updating google maps, now google navigation is gone.

Updated google maps via the market, now google navigation is no longer installed. How can I get this back?
I believe the latest Google Maps (just updated myself as well) have navigation built-in so no need for a separate app.

I got it back. The 'Navigation' shortcut doesn't show in the app drawer until you launch navigation via the blue triangle from within maps. Now the 'navigation' shortcut is back in the app drawer.

Thanks for that! I was having the same trouble and I was able to get the nav working from maps, but I never checked the app drawer again. It's there!
I installed triple boot on
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1448186
on my friend's nook color. I cannot update the map to the latest version (the one on june 27th with offline maps). It is on version 5.9. Any idea?

Go to Google Play, check All Apps, there should be Google Maps there, and open it, update.

I did. It does not go through. It gives me an error like this: The signed application is not correct. Also, it just happens to the google map update, not anything else.
Try uninstalling maps then re-installing.

How can you uninstall "maps". I went to setting and apps, and it just says disable. There is not "uninstall".

That means it thinks it is a system app, rather than an installed app. It is installed to /system/apps. I think on Mirage, that mr666 puts them there. Use a root file manager and go into /system/apps, and rename to .bak on the end. Then reboot. It should be gone from your system. You are then free to install from the market if it will allow you to.

Rooting and removing apps

Hey!
I'm new at this, and I just got my LGO2X today. The question I have is this:
Can I, without problems, remove following apps:
- Facebook, Twitter and MySpace for LG?
- Preinstalled apps?
- Car Home?
- RemoteCall?
- SIM Toolkit?
Yeah... but i would recommend just freezing them.
And freezing them means what? And how do I do that?

you may want to check the other threads ... its all there. The app you search is the SNS.apk
Is it possible to freeze or disable so that the icon for alarm/clock and call log disappears but can be used?
I think it's stupid to have those icons that can be launch via the app "Clock" and "Phone" instead.

If you use LauncherPro then you can go to Preferences > General Settings > Hidden Apps
By that you still have the app's installed but they won't take up space in the drawer.

Yeah, I know but I'm not a fan of LauncherPro. I want to use LG Home, think that looks nice

Market shortcut --> Google Play

I really liked the Market shortcut in the upper right corner, but now, once the Market became Google PLAY, the shortcut is no longer valid, saying "application not installed on your phone".
How can I have the shortcut valid again?
its a problem with blur. motorola is gonna need to do an OTA to fix it.
Might force them to do an ota finally, after all these leaks

Remove Market shortcut and add new shortcut for Play Market. No OTA needed for something this simple.

how did you remove that shorcut?

Aaargh! My mistake, I did not even consider you were talking about blur. I got out of blur within the first hour after rooting my D3 and never looked back.

Facebook app

I couldn't find the official Facebook app in market... I have a rooted KFHD and have to do with browser access now.. ( I didn't look at Amazon app store nor did try sideload) has any one else been able to get FB on their KFHD?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium
Sideload the apk and it works.
Anyone figure out the issue with scrolling in the newsfeed on facebook. First time it goes to load more stories it gets all screwed up.

I downloaded friendcaster for the time being. Happy enough with it. You might have to uninstall the facebook app in order to get the permissions to work right. You can reinstall facebook after friendcaster is setup.
If you have play installed, the 2.0 version released this afternoon fixes this.

i think it only works on CM10.1 or 4.2.2 devices. if you are using LG stock no harms trying still.
Download Facebook Home from Play Store, open it. On the default screen it should tell you FB home is not ready/available for your device yet
Below this notice there should be two buttons. One is something like 'Open the Facebook APP instead'. And the other 'Use Home anyway'
If you doesn't get the latter option then you can't use it 'officially'
