Hello,
Just wondering if there is a way to get a 5x5 grid on the phone, or even 5x6 if anything.
I do NOT want to use any loaders, I prefer to keep everything stock looking, but rooted with no launchers.
I know that there was something that was created for the Note 3 a while back, but not sure what it was since I did not have a Note 3.
Please help

I believe you're going to have to wait until any of our devs modify the Note 4 launcher itself. It's going to be a little while:good:

I know it's android and I shouldn't want to do this, but I want a real looking iPhone theme/rom.
4 Icon Dock
iPhone Dock Style
I want it to look exactly like an iPhone 4 would, so no 5 icon dock with 4 icons and an app drawer icon. I want 3 icons and an app drawer icon.
Thanks in advance
research helps.
look into launcher apps first, no rooting needed for that.
"roms" or "themes" that need rooting.... you wont find one that looks like iphone
research

re- search.
Yeah I have been researching for a few weeks. I came across MIUI, and the ADW Themes, but they all look kind of.....off. I probably won't find anything closer than these b/c of copyrights, but I have hope
well ADW themes doesnt require root.
there are dozens of launcher apps, there are some that are really close to start. then you can go find icons and docks that look really close then put them all together. and BAM.
part of the customizing has to be done yourself. but the apps make it easy. by letting you customize.
MIUI is probably your best bet.
But can I just ask why you bought an android phone if what you wanted was an iphone?

I don't like iOS, just the look of it. I also wanted to try a bunch of roms to see what I prefer.
I've been a LauncherPro user for many years now, and as such I've stuck with it on my Note. However, due to the "laggy" app-drawer opening animation, I've had to disable that completely (so that the drawer opens immediately).
I believe that pretty much ALL third-party launchers suffer from stuttering in some way or another. Does anyone actually know WHY this is the case on the Note? Its not ROM specific.
The alternative is to just use TouchWiz, which I am 100% keen on doing, except for ONE little problem. 90% of Android widgets are 4 columns wide, and there is no way to resize widgets with TouchWiz.
Anyone have any tips or suggestions? I get the feeling that most people stick with TouchWiz, so I'd love to know what you do about the 4 column limitation.

No problem
I have tried most of the available launchers. The one i am most happy with at the moment is spb shell 3d, its not cheap. But when in tablet mode, looks great on the note. The widgets really make use of the screen resolution.
The only issue is there is no ability to alter the row/column count. Which in tablet mode has a count of 8. Which is a little high for the screen size of the note.
I have emailed the Developers of spb shell 3d and they have told me a update will be available soon.
Just my opinion
Thanks. I wish there was a way to test SPB before buying.
Are you able to resize widgets with SPB?

Yeah, you can resize all the widgets. It is a shame there is no trial

I use go launcher as well and I experienced some lag in transition effect and opening app drawer..
what ROM/kernel are you using? or maybe it's because I use too many widgets?

There is, but not one that I could ever recommend
I admit I tried it and found it very wanting. I only did it for the trial, because the cost was so high. I am glad I did, as I found it very wanting on my device. Others seem faster to me.
I use ssLancher. It has a very different approach, and everything is customisable. I also use a separate app launcher and Folder Organiser, leaving me 'free' from the app organisation that most launchers pin on you. That allows me to play with more with less effort.
go launcher is good because you can use ICS theme.
But this stupid launcher removes ICS animation ! (returns Gingerbread stock)
I hope new update (4.0) will bring for us more then just a nice shell.

No matter what Kernel/ROM I use, every single launcher lags noticeably. I never had this problem with my previous phones (Atrix, Defy+, SGS2). And yes, I'm and advanced user so I know how to optimize the OS.
I just stuck to ADW EX, selecting the Fast interface and setting drawing cache to low quality. It lags but it's way less than Launcher Pro, GO and SS Launcher.
Hope this gets fixed on ICS.

ADW Launcher EX rly nice low on memory and alot of customizations possibilities.
Mmhhnnnnnn
I agree, I tried lots of launchers and IMO ADW EX is the best one!
It should be amazing one day to get anything equal to the Sense interface as Launcher (NO SPB Shell is not as good as Sense), don't you think so? I love it on HTC
Sent from my Galaxy Note with DarkyROM 3.3
I used to use Launcher Pro back in the day, but TBH, I consider it to be dead now; the developer hasn't made any changes to ver 0.8.6 for almost a year now... I think it's abandoned.
I use ADW EX, and it's pretty decent!
Is it possible to use an older version of touchwiz on the note 5? I can't stand the folders and not being able to make folders in the app drawer. I don't want to use a different launcher because i like the action note on my screen. Thanks guys
Or does anyone know of a way to use stock widgets on other launchers?

Not sure about the rom, but I know you can use Nova Launcher to get a grid of that size.

Hey guys.
Just a quick question. I saw the S10+ at the store today and saw that it had big icons, which I found to really like.
However, my icons on my Note 8 remain small and I would really want to get those big icons.
Am I missing something? Or is there a way to port the S10s launcher to the Note 8?
Thanks

I'm fairly certain it's a Samsung design choice. I think the difference is intentional from their end. What you can do, however, is install a third party launcher, such as Nova Launcher. With that you can change the size of the icons and the grid layout. You can even apply third party icon packs, which I like to do every so often to make things look a little different and "fresh".
Personally, I am not a fan of the massive icons in the SGS10's UI. I think that the Note 8's icons are the perfect size.
Their is a simple way for big icons

I have a solution for u buddy
Just go to home settings change homescreen grid to 4x5 and appdrawer grid too
U will get so big icons and just keep 4 icons in dock
And to justify the look increase the display size fron settings u will enjoy the one handed look of one ui
