On my Nexus 4, the phone had an option to sync with Picasa, which basically meant Picasa web albums appeared in the albums list on the stock Gallery app. I'm not seeing this on the Moto X. Is there a way to get that same functionality as on the Nexus, or has "Sync with Picasa" been discontinued for some reason, which would mean I'm stuck using the (also stock) Photos gallery app, or download 3rd party such as Quikpic?
I honestly like the simplicity of the stock Gallery app, and now also the way it shows the date as you scroll back in time through the camera roll.

Does anyone know of a good gallery app replacement? Both free and paid apps are fine, just after being used to the sense gallery on my EVO I despise the stock android gallery the Galaxy tab has, basically i'm looking for a gallery app that like the sense one can properly view high res photo's instead of scaling up and making them look blurry like the default one, can view Facebook albums like sense, can view videos and properly shows thumbnails for the video's and can share photo's directly to Facebook, I tried Just Pictures which I've seen a lot of people recommend, but like it's name says it's just pictures, no videos, and it can't share to Facebook.
Quickpic is a good gallery replacement. It fixed the problem of blurry jpg images that the stock gallery app causes. It is also free!
So, after installing two different JB roms, I've encountered the same problem where the gallery app doesn't display Picasa (now referred to as Google Photos in the sync options) image albums. I have enabled sync of Google Photos in the sync settings, rebooted after etc.
I have tried the QuickPic app- same results.
I can view the albums in JustPictures! but only if the albums are publicly visible (there is no login provision in JustPictures for Picasa galleries).
Has anybody else seen this issue or found a solution?
Hi there,
On the Sony photo gallery app, the default one, I cannot see how to save Picasa / Google+ Photo albums to the phone.
In the stock Gallery app, there is a "make available offline" option on other brands of phones.
This makes an excellent way to sync photos between your PC and phone.
Ideas?
If you have an infinix hot 2 phone it comes with google photos as it is official gallery which is 99% unsatisfying so i recommend anyone who has infinix hot 2 to download KKGallery from the Playstore to me that is the best non stock gallery...
Quickpic is my go-to gallery of all-time.
Quick pic has no many editing options but kk Gallery works a charm and for me it the best because of not hogging my data & power in the background as quick pic.
Try FOTO
I found that using gallery other than google photos would create issue of "no pictures on phone storage" when I tried to set a picture for profile
I use Gphotos and Snapseed, which is a pretty good photo editor.

KK Gallery has been working for me flawlessly never had any problem since day one.
Hi,
I have disabled Google Photos and installed Simple Gallery app.
Now I have a problem in that when I click on the in-camera "preview" thumbnail (lower right), normally it would've opened Google Photos gallery, however as that is now disabled I expected to open Simple Gallery.
The problem is it doesn't.
I tried to look and reset the "Default gallery app", but there is no such setting.
Is the Nokia Camera app hardwired to only work with Google Photos?
