Does aosp/aokp roms work on the ATT s5? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 5

i know cm 11 doesnt work with safestrap but does aosp or aokp? i tried flashing an aosp rom and it wouldnt boot but on the samsungalaxys5root site it says you can flash aosp. what about aokp?

You can only flash safestrap compatible roms, and even still they have to be touchwiz based, which from what I understand those two roms are not. So to answer your question, no, they will not work.

Why did you move to the S5? Didn't you know about the locked bootloader? I much prefer the stability of T/W than any AOSP Rom.
My rooted S5 debloated running XKRom is smoking and beautiful ta boot.
Yes I've ran practically every AOSP Rom built for the S2 thru the S4 and every T/W.
That being said I'll never denigrate anyone for their Rom or device preference. Whatever makes ya happy is what's important. ????

You have a choice of 2 ROM's. Try them both? Lol. I'm dying for ICS too.

Whats added/missing from stock?
anything you miss?
is it any faster?
is tethering built in?
Details at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1701865
A bit more zippy than the stock ROM due to the reasons listed on that thread. Otherwise, it's Samsung's honeycomb image.
Yes, android native tethering, both WiFi and USB, is enabled.
If you still think it's slow, get a new launcher, twlauncher (touchwiz) is kind of a beast...
You can overclock it to 1.7ghz or so and it'll still be reliable, at least that's my experience.
The ATT ICS ROM is in test with the carrier. It'll probably be out in a month or two. Samsung should also release the ICS kernel source around then, after which you'll likely see some custom ICS images -- Nobody wants to bother making custom HC images OR trying to get an ICS kernel working on this device before Samsung releases a proper one -- Several have tried and found it quite a task.
ICS is out for the WiFi versions. The LTE version should be available with Odin or Kies before ATT offers it via OTA.

GT9500 system dump.

So what are the chances of the 9500 OS being ported over as I've heard there is now a system dump on the web?
I'm quite happy wih my 9305 but would like a sammy 4.2 OS.

Chance of getting the i9500 ROM ported over here is kinda minimal. I don't think anyone would take time to port a Samsung ROM. We already got stock Android 4.2.2, CM10,1, Liquidsmooth, PA 3.15. So yeah, my guess is that the chance of getting the 4.2 Samsung ROM ported over to the i9305 is minimal.
Really? There are plenty of modded sammy 4.1 roms. Surely someone would take on the task...
I use my video out a lot and as far as I know none of the AOSP roms support that.
Suppose I'll have to wait for Samsung to update the 9305....
Thanks

[Q] Is there vanilla Android for s3 mini?

Please excuse my ignorance in this, but all these roms and mods confuse me, lol.
Is there any way to get original plain Android on the s3 mini? The one without touchwiz, I think it's called Vanilla Android?
My phone is rooted and has a custom rom on it already.
Thanks.
Do you mean the regular stock UI? (Cm10, aokp, etc) if so, a cm10 beta just came out on the maclaw website.

No, just the plain Android Jelly Bean, like the Google Nexus 4 phone.

No sadly, AOSP isn't available because ST Ericsson isnt releasing source codes for our NovaThor chipset which means developers have to build it with their own codes which isnt easy and there aren't many developers are willing to do that, currently only Maclaw is working on CM10

I don't get it
I've had 4.1.2 (official DBT version, international note, running straight talk) and it, without a doubt has been one of, if not the
most stable OS's I've ever used. I can go for weeks without a reboot.
What I don't understand, and I'm not trying to stir a debate, but what is it with the need, other than to take advantage of a new
app that won't run on something lower than 4.3, why bother updating to 4.4? Does it bring a new level of functionality or
features that isn't on the older version? Does your device not function now?
Other than a custom kernel to get around a potential EMMC brick problem, and rooted, this device I use is stock and flies!
I wish we her touch wiz KitKat ROM from Samsung

I believe that is a Touch Wiz based ROM, similar to our Dynamic Kat Xtreme found in the development section. If you read closely it mentions flashing it in Safestrap. The S4 has a locked bootloader just like us and is forced to use Safestrap and Touch Jizz based ROMs too.
