1. Root your device
2. Install a custom recovery (5.0.2.6 FIXED fully recommended)
3. Choose the rom you like to flash
4. Follow the Dev's instructions in order to flash correctly the rom
5. Done!
Here you'll find ROOT + CWM 5.0.2.6 FIXED files and how to proceed
2. Install a custom recovery (5.0.2.6 FIXED fully recommended).
i've flashed 5.0.26 via recovery (a flashable zip), after that, the recovery doesn't work, and the phone now doesn't boot, and i have win 8.1 x64, it cannot detect the phone with odin ?!
i've tested with another pc with win 7 x32, odin stuck in connecting with phone.
help please
note: i cant enter ramdump mode, is there any way to fix it from there?
edit:
fixed, alhamdou lilah, the problem was in the version of odin, the version 4.44 worked well

For the future:
Philz kernel is used for TouchWiz ROM's (based off what samsung gives us). You flashed a TW kernel onto a CM 10.1 ROM. If you still want to try out CM, then boot into recovery, do a full wipe, flash CM and gapps. After that is done perform a data wipe (factory reset) through recovery
I have installed cm 10.1 and worked,
After I want to return at the stock rom(flash via odin v3.04) and now it is blocked in a boot loop
and the phone doesn't enter in recovery mode, and I tried to flash cwm (6.0.2.8) via odin and still doesn't works , I tried flashing stock rom after I've flashed cwm-> not works//// It is working only Download mode. gt-s6500d

I got this today after trying CM10.2 (enthusiast as me try everything first). I recovred from that after reflashing stock GB and after that I go to stock recovery with classic button combo and there I make full wipe. After wiping everything and rebooting in dl mode I flashecd latest CWM (6.0.3.3 b2) and everything worked fine.

I decided to update my ace's firmware to KitKat using this ROM cm-11-20131229-UNOFFICIAL-cooper++XR.zip, so firstly I rooted the phone then i installed Clockwork Mod Recovery 6.0.4.6 to install said ROM. I did all the steps as normal, however when I rebooted the phone after the installation had taken place it was stuck on the cid boot up screen for 6+ hours which isn't normal, so I tried to start in recovery mode in order to reformat, when to my surprise I got a blue screen. To sum up I cant start the phone as it gets stuck on cid boot up logo and I cant go into recovery mode to reformat, are there any possible fixes? If there are I would be eternally grateful.
Cheers.

If you really need a kitkat version for your ace 5830, Just forget about the current scenario and please follow the steps
1. Firstly connect the phone into download mode to pc and flash stock firmware via odin
you can refer the link for this http://www.droidviews.com/how-to-in...mware-on-samsung-galaxy-ace-s5830-using-odin/
2. Install clockwork mode recovery(cwm) version 5 not 6
you can find the same via http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=18178563&postcount=13
( or ) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1034145
From the above google drive link you will get the CWM recovery version 5 which named as recovery-clockwork-5.zip
3. You will get access to stock recovery after you finished flashing stock firmware via odin
4. I would suggest below the kitkat rom link which is able to flash it via CWM version 5
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2561861
5. Copy the kitkatrom.zip and cwm5.zip into sdcard
6. Enter stock recovery and update to cwm5.zip
7. Do factory reset, wipe cache and dalvik cache
8. Install the kitkatrom.zip via recovery
9. Finally reboot and Enjoy the Kitkat version
Hit thanks if I helped you.

This is my second attempt to install custom ROM and I failed... I did everything step by step and it doesn't work. Or it doesnt boot at all or it craches in recovery mode while installing update.
This time i used some nightly unofficial and it stoped installing in recovery :S This is so annoyng
I downloaded stock lastest from code support for my Samsung S5830 because obviously there is non stable version of custom ROM right now.
I do not advise to go over Android 2.3.6 for S5830 or you will burn down your phone system...

Rooted phone with SuperOneClick successfully
downloaded CWM recovery, custom ROM, google apps and newcamera.apk
puted in SD
entered recovery mode, hard reset options (wipe data + catche)
installed zip from SD (CWM recovery)
rebooted recovery
installation of custom ROM stoped with error code (7)
from there i wouldnt be able to boot system
then i used code support and downloaded firmware flash files for S5830
odin installed it but also wont boot up the phone
then i pissed off and took old polish firmware installed with odin, after that did hard reset and now phone is working on 2.3.6

Ok now you are unrooted on your new polish right. So now root it with UniversalGingerbreadroot.zip (google it.) Flash an older version of CWM(5.0) through the stock recovery. Finally install a stable custom rom initially do not go for CM roms as for testing try some other stock based rom and if successful you can advance to CWM.
All the best.

Here you'll find ROOT and CWM files to get ready your Ace, than you'll be able to install Customs STOCK Roms, CM7.x, CM9.x, CM10.x
Read carefully the threads in GT-S5830 Android Development section and follow the dev's instructions
PS: To get CM11.x you'll need to flash CWM6.x or TWRP
Hi all!
I flashed my recovery to TWRP and ever since then, I always get stuck in bootloop no matter what custom ROM I try. Flashing back to stock rom via ODIN works.
It's been a while since I've tinkered with custom ROMs so I may be missing something. Any ideas on where to start?

Hi,
Which phone ? i9305 or i9300 ?
Which version of TWRP do you use ?
You should try latest version of TWRP (2.8.7.3).
Or try Philz touch Recovery 6.48.4 or 6.59.
1.Repeat ODIN step to stock rom
2.Root the phone by kingroot (as it's doesn't required pc)
3.After rooting, Download Cwm rom manager
4.Install Cwm by selecting your phone model and etc
5.flash it directly from the apps
6.now you can flash any rom ( please backup your system for your safety)
