Hi, I have tried today ART Runtime with no success...every time i reboot the phone rebuilds it's cache (Android is upgrading ...) for 121 apps ant it takes 20 minutes to finish. I have tried every everyhing to get it to work ... unfroze frozen apps, delete all apps restored with Titanium backup.
I am using a SM-N910F phone with FW N910FXXU1ANJ4, rooted with Chainfire's CF Auto Root.
I am very disappointed by this :/
What is your experience?
Thank you.
Not very good is it? Agreed. It'll work better with lollipop. But there is already a thread talking about this. Somewhere here or in q&a
Hi, It does not rebuild every time you reboot the phone. It only rebuilds for the new apps you install in between reboots.
have you xposed installed? if yes uninstall it before switch to art

No, it does not, everytime i reboot the phone it rebuilds the cache for the same amount of apps, 121 :-/
Doe it work for you? Thx.

Sorry, i never used Xposed. I am only rooted with busybox installed. Also i have restored 5 user apps from Titanium Backup. This is all that i have doen to the phone. Does it work ok for ou? If you reboot it does it rebuilds the cache? Thx.
That is incorrect. There is a set list of apps that the Note 4 will always "optimize" every time you reboot. For me it was 15 apps.

Where do you get this info, it makes no sense! My wife has an S5 with ART activated and it does not behaive like this. It boots directly into home screen. Something is wrong with ART implementation on our phones.
I have never tried ART on other devices before so i can't comment.
BTW I created a thread earlier to ask users about ART runtime on the Note 4 and others echoed the same experience on the reboot.
But yours is terrible, 121 apps lol.

Same issue here, but my list of apps that continually optimise on reboot is 61.
No such issue of my HTC One M8.
ART is currently broken on the Note, unless you can live with 20 minute reboots.
Regards,
Dave
I think it's best to wait with ART for Lollipop, many games might not work with KitKat ART (for example a library for making games I use - libGDX - doesn't support ART in KitKat, only the one in Lollipop that is fixed).
My note 4 N910L when change from dalvik to art was upgrading likely 300 apps. And you know, our device was noy good like the time we use dalvik
I Think when sam upgrade our note to android 5.0 it would be better
P/s: Make sure when you change from dalvik to art your device atleast have more than 30% and not to hot

On 4.4 ,ART is in beta and shouldn't really be used. Yes it does optimize everytime you start the Note 4 but as it's only experimental it's not a bug. ART on 4.4 doesn't really speed things up anyway, the 5.0 version is fully optimized and bug free why not just wait another month or so until Lollipop on the Note 4 and ART will be the default runtime.
When first time change to art it upgrading app
The second reboot it go directly to homescreen

Could root be the cause of continuous rebuild of cache, or thar we have a different version of the phone (SM-910F)?

I tryed extensively ART runtime with note 3 and note 10.1 (with CM rom) without problems. every time you rebuild the cache it takes a very long time due to the recompile of the code. if some software is not compatible (like xposed) the process is stopped and the system reverts automatically to dalvik. my note4 is running dalvik not tryied ART.

I'm using the beta 5 and had problems with multiple apps.
The Apps "Öffi ÖPNV", "DB Navigator" and "Marine Traffic" stop automatically after the app is started. I think that's a shame and I hope that can help me here.
The Google Map apps work perfectly, just OsmAnd. Since the alpha 5 will no longer run the app Öffi.

For exemple, Öffi is working under android 2.0 to 4.1 max. See with dev.
Have you all wiped after install? For me all work ( just lag with recent app mode).

4.2.1 is still very new and some apps don't fully support it yet. So some problems might be the app itself and not the rom.

Deleting the app data I have already done. Unfortunately without success
Do I have to perform in front of the flashing and after flashing wipe data and / or wipe cache? I do it so far always before firmware update.
The joy is great, run the apps. The following fix just needed to be installed:

Hello.
I have decided to get the phone verion of Photoshop Touch from the play store. However, upon opening it looks like hell.
Do you have any ideas how to fix?
Thank you.

I've used this app on many roms, stock, 4.3,etc.. Its always worked fine.. Best I can say is try to clear data and cache then uninstall and reinstall.. After installing do a full reboot. If same issue, I'd contact the Dev of the app and see what they suggest.

IF (again IF) you have time, try it on a 4.2.2 ROM, seems quite a few apps are having difficulties with 4.3.

Strange indeed. I'm running 4.3, arhd 22.0, sense 5 w/ 3.22 base. The app has been humming along for me no problems, and I use it on a daily basis just about... I'll dig around a bit more and see if I can't find something we can try to get it working.

That would be great. I remember, that the app was working correctly on 3.17 base.
I also forgot to mention, that I have the teamSeven kernel installed. Also I have Xposed framework installed.

Hello dudes, I currently use the MIUI V4 ICS 3.22 rom on my galaxy mini. Yesterday I have installed an app called greenify. I wanted to use the hole features of the app so I have installed the Xposed Framework. But after the restart my device is stopping rebooting at the bootanimation. With the deactivation zip on my sd card I could uninstall the framework. How can I bring the framework to work?
Thanks in advance!

Dude!
Should have read the installation instructions beforehand
The Xposed framework is not compatible with miui
Now the only way out, according to me, is by restoring the file system through a nandroid backup.
I'm sorry but no one can help you in any other way.
Not being rude but dude read the whole post before installing anything in your phone.
Other than that I should however tell you that greenery without xposed also works great. Believe me I have used it and still use it.

before you re-flash the whole rom, check if there's an uninstall recovery zip (it should be on your sd)
@TARUN SIDHARTH is "greenery" a different app or you simply use greenify without xposed?!? is it possible to greenify system apps (with a donate version of course)?

Greenery is a standalone app which works great and does exactly what it offers. The xposed framework just empowers it a bit more and makes it a bit more efficient. But even then Its not necessary that you have to install xposed framework for it to work its magic.
And yes to answer your other question you can greenify system apps with it although that's only available in the donate version.
He sure however that you are careful doing that since greenifying the wrong stood can make your system unstable or cause other problems that may interfere in is optimum functioning.
Cheers

amazing! think i tried almost every possible auto-start blocking app (autostarts, auto-this-and-that, various managers) and none have had a lot of success with the stuff i wish to block (possibly without total disabling and/or freezing (with TiB)
my google magic failed and all i could find was gardening and themeing apps
can you please provide us with the link or pm me some other details

Oh yeah umm.. Most of the startup managers for Android are full of crap... The play store ones atleast coz the Google developers policy doesn't allow such apps which actually work really well in this context... Still don't know how they decide that though. Well whatever if you had xposed then it could have been possible. But even then install gsam battery monitor and note the apps which consume the most system resources. Greenify them if you wish to and then they'll open/consume system resources only when they are active ie you are using them in real time.
That's all I guess
Cheers

Hi, couple of days ago my phone got and Lolipop update, After the update I wipe the data and cache on recovery.
But today I installed Cpu-z for check some system runtimes I saw my device Java VM is still on Dalvik(also ArtChecker on playstore shows Dalvik too)
Do you guys have the same ?
If its true How am I going to pass to ART ?
Waiting your replyes.
Art checker is only for kitkat.
Lollipop is art by default. No need to check.

If that's the case, then Xposed Framework would have worked with Samsung's Android 5.0.x TouchWiz ROM's. But it doesn't as Xposed Frameworks doesn't works with ART (on Samsung's TouchWiz ROM's that is) just yet.
Android 5.x.x doesn't even have Dalvik anylonger. It's gone.
Thanks for reply, Cpu-Z has a bug than Im so relief.

This issue has popped up recently. Try finding a pre-4.8 version of the google search app from an old gapps, then turning off updates in the play store. Not sure if it is all ROMs, but there is something going on when it tries to activate voice output. Definitely does it on Benzo. I tired using the latest Google TTS and it still does it.
Im not sure. But read on Aosip forum its related Viper.
