I was kind of disappointed to not see an equalizer in the sound settings. I found this through Spotify's settings. You could probably also add it through a third party launcher activity setting.
It is in the music and video settings.
Ahh, that's why I didn't see it.. I don't use either app. And my HTC M7 had the EQ setting in the main setting location.

If my memory served me well, M7 do not have a proper EQ and only the Beat Audio on-off as the EQ.

anyone knows the audio mod has a music equalizer, which is a box where you choose according to the position selected that type of EQ you want to have?

So do you want to use an Equalizer app? Then try this one... it has good ratings on Google Play Store...
If you want to use a 3rd party music app with built-in equalizer then try either PowerAMP or MortPlayer... :good:
Or if you were talking about Audio Mods then try searching for Viper4Android... I heard that it improves Music and Audio Quality but I never got the time to test it

thanks for the recommendations! but what I want is a mod no one apk to equalize. thanks the same!
Moto X Dev Ed. I hate the G**gle Player app. I don't want them knowing what I'm listening to. (How does it frickin' bypass Android Firewall to get album covers?!) And it has no volume control through headphones.
I tried Phonon, but it doesn't allow you to choose a folder to play, which is a vital function for me.
Walkman crashes on this phone, at least this Tit-restored one I have, and it's not in the Play store.
Anyone recommend an audio app which allows you to coose a folder of music to play?
Is there a reason my volume buttons have no effect on the level in headphones? (it's too quiet)

Have you tried PowerAmp? There are free and pay versions.
I don't think volume control headphones work with android phones.. at least they never have in my experience (unless maybe they're specially made for it) Only pause/play button works. I don't think its an app issue, its android itself I believe.
As far as players I use a simple less known app called Maple which lets you play from folders and has some cool features like pitch and speed adjustment, and its free.

I have used PowerAmp in free version. Happy feel to using it..
PowerAmp expires after two weeks.
Maple is OK, although I'm still trying to figure out how to play a directory and switch directories.
Also, these are not volume-adjust headphones. They are just regular Koss headphones, but the phone's volume control doesn't have any influence over the volume in them. Controls do work with the phone speaker.
JetAudio. I like it on my Windows machines, and I think I'm going to on KK too. I think it'll play a directory since it plays 'albums' in a directory.

Im not sure if its a glitch with my Pebble, or a problem with the software in general. Using the stock music player, i am able to correctly use the controls; play/pause, next and previous track. however even though the Pebble is set to use PowerAmp for my music, the display only shows one song and it isnt the song thats currently playing. Nor does it change when i go to different tracks
Anyone else have this issue? any resolutions? I also wouldnt mind a recommendation for a music app to throw on here, the only ones that looked decent are paid
Your music app on your phone isn't broadcasting AVRCP, common issue.
To fix this and get a vastly superior music control watch app - get Music Boss for Pebble.

You don't need to pay money for silly music pebble apps. Go to the bluetooth settings in power amp and toggle metachange intent to ON. That is all.

I would hardly call the best App for Pebble, written by the most responsive and user focused Pebble developer, "silly".

Hi all,
I've just gotten this phone and what's driving me nuts is every time I plug in my headphones it tries to start the default music player which has only one track which is like a ringtone. Pressing any of the buttons on the headphones remote controls this player instead of SoundCloud or Spotify that I have playing.
Any way to fix this??
No one else having this problem? No one got any solution or method they are using for getting around this?

Can you not change this in Settings > Apps > Default Apps? Pick a different one for Music?
It's currently set to VLC yet it still pops up with the same default music app when I put my headphones in
One real big pain from this phone so far!
Same problem for me but not with headphones (not tried them) but when Bluetooth car stereo connects. Very annoying.

Go to "Settings > Apps & Notifikation > Apps > Music" and then "Draw over other Apps" = no and "Write Systems Settings" = no
That will deactivate the Autostart for Music. But I didn't find out to activate other Apps to autostart with the Headphones
KR Raffi
Thanks
A2DP volume can do it. Not old and ugly but will auto start whatever you want.

Unfortunately this issue is still there even after this step.
Seems impossible to get their default music app to not jump in and interrupt after plugging in headphones.

Exact same thing happens when I dont have Play Music open when my P20 connects to my car audio via Bluetooth. It's the ONLY gripe I have with this phone
From settings got to 'Apps & Notifications' - 'Default apps' - 'Music' and then select your music app. Worked for me.

Sorry just noticed someone has already suggested this. I use poweramp but playing music via bluetooth in the car or headphones always started the preinstalled music app. Changing the default settings fixed it for me.
A bit related: VLC app stopps playing sound over bluetooth after about 1 minute, which seems solved by setting "manual" under battery optimization. Unusual that an actively playing music app needs that...the standard music app does not need this.
But default music player doesn't list Pocket Casts, so I can't change it. I know it's not music but many problems are shared
Is there a way to set custom eq presets? Or device dependent profiles (different presets for speaker/wired/bt)?
The audioWizard app seems a bit lacking - or i might be doing it wrong - first day w/ the phone.
Thank you.
You cant even disable it sadly, music might be the least intrusive preset.
Sadly, Android is lacking proper, open source, equalizer apps/software. I use wavelet currently for this reason, it seems pretty versatile.

Thanks for the tip. It's an actually good audio manager - without root too.
Wavelet: headphone specific EQ - Apps on Google Play
Headphone specific equalization with lots of customizability
play.google.com
Used James DSP previously. There are nice and comprehensive audio managers but I'm not planning on rooting.... yet
It's a pity the left that bare-bone app (audiowizard) since the phone has good speakers and wired output.

It is indeed excellent. It also handles my 80ohm Superlux HD 668B with just enough loudness properly equalized.
