Hi,
anyone have an estimate of how long until some custom roms are posted here on the forums for the Tmobile Note 4?
I am specifically hoping for the ability to swap external and internal storage (Just preordered my SAndisk 512 GB Sd card ) (use via and adapter tucked inside a mugen power battery case)
Kinda just waiting to make the switch from my galaxy S4 to the note 4 until some decent Roms with custom kernels are out there.
If you are looking for custom builds, you should keep an eye on http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4-tmobile/development

actually false it supports my 256 GB card already. The numbers on the boxes are just marketing materials. it will accept anything in the SDXC family which will one day reach 2 TBs.
Now a standard SD card does not fit but via the use of an adapter i can attach a 256 GB card currently and will soon do my 512 GB card.
Adding an extended battery case like mugen power actually gives enough room to fit the extended battery, sd card and adapter.
Couple this with a great custom rom with init.d support and a few extra tweaks in the kernel and I have 512 GBs of usable space for whatever I want without the hassle of moving between internal and external.

Hi, does anyone know wich of the 32 gb Micro SD Ext supports four partitions.
Now I have a Sandisk 16 GB, which I easily can create a partition Ext 4, but it is too small for my HTC volume. (this is for my programs on the partition Ext 4 Andriod, I think that it's my internal memory). I had purschadan unknown brand (I think a Chinese) from 32 gb on E-bay, but I could not make a Ext 4 partition.
Any ideas of a brand ...
Thanks

brand shouldnt be a factor, sounds like you got a duff card is all
Nobody....
I have read up on this a long time ago 8 months now about cards like that if you still have time to return or complain then you should. they write on the cards saying 32gb but when you put it in a phone or pc I think it was said it says 32gb but only fills up way less or not even close so trying to partitioning it won't work. good luck I had a sandisk 16gb class 4 from radio shack and used it in my EVO 4g to ext partition to ext 4 and worked great never used to much memory tho not sure how much you plan to use

Dude, EVERY sd card you buy from ebay and seller is from China you are going to get a fake card. They may say 32GB but they are fake and in reality are 1,2,4 GB. They will even display as 32GB via windows but if you put it through a disc scanner it will start to get errors around teh real end of disc. You could even start to fill it up with movies etc and you will get error at point of card filling its real capacity.
I'm Using SanDisk..

Brand doesn't matter, ANY GENUINE card will do.
BTW: You've bought fake card.
BTW2: Accordingly to some tests (some of them available on xda) one of the best, stable cards are SanDisks up to (optimally) class 6. Kingston is much slower in random read tests and class 10 has much higher power consumption (and surprisingly is quite often slower than class 6 when used with HD2).

Is a 128GB microSD Card Overkill for the Note 4?
Only you know what is on your card and how much of it you have. Some people hoard some don't.

I have a 128GB sd card on my Note 4 and have about 38GB of space remaining. I like to have nandroids of four or five different roms that I can go back and forth on - having a lot of storage makes that easier (of course I also have music and videos and tons of photos )
I have a 16GB card in there now. I got a $20 gift certificate to WalMart and that's all they had in stock when I went, so it's what I got. I plan on getting a 128GB or 64GB card later when money permits. I don't need a whole heck of a lot of space, but I do tend to use my phone as a flash drive on occasion and being able to keep a couple of recent nandroid's for restore purposes is quite handy. That being said I sill have about 8GB of free space on the card now. It has some music, my photo backup and a few APK's I commonly re-install when switching ROM's.
Other than that for my uses I find the built in 32GB to be plenty. My old S3 had 16GB and I didn't have an SD card in it. I never really had space issues.
I appreciate all the replies thus far, never a bad idea to buy a larger capacity microSD when they are on sale. I really don't see any real-world differences between my 64GB Evo and 32GB Pro (both Made by Samsung). Perhaps I should install the Pro on my GoPro Camera instead of the Note 4 and give the Note 4 more storage space, would that seem more feasible?
The Evo is also a Class 10- UHS spec.

Hey.
I have a Note2 LTE (N7105 t0lte).
I currentrly running CM13 (Resurrectionremix Final).
I want to buy a MicroSD card with a minimum capacity of 64gb (or is there another step, between 32gb and 64?
I need a fast one, so I can running apps from the SD card.
Which one would be the best for the Note2?
What is the maximum capacity of SD cards, that the note2 can handle?
And what about OTG?
Is there a way to connect USB sticks or something else to the Note2 LTE? (t0lte)
Thanks for your help.

Seems like a perfect partner for the Note 8
http://phandroid.com/2017/08/31/sandisk-400gb-microsd-card
ordered.
The specs for the Note 8 says it's able to take a microSD card up to 256GB. Would a 400GB card even be compatible? Are there any hardware limitations that restrict the maximum size of the external storage to 256GB or will the Note 8 take as much storage as you can shove in it?
My Note 3 was supposed to only handle 64 but it reads my 256 with no problems. If anything you can use externally through the usb c with a card reader...there are some low profile ones on Amazon.
It'll take it—I just ordered the card.
Ever since Note 2 I've been using a 512GB SD card—via a MicroSD—SD adapter, no problems…

How do you mean, standard SD of 512 through usb port or modded with an adapter in the MicroSD slot
Like this one:
SD to Micro SD Adapter https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0143QFXYO/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_ucoQzbJD96K53
Like this: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2987826
That is similar to the adapter I linked...I think the Note 8 will handle the 400GB...if it reads 256 natively and can read drives over 1TB via USB, why not right.

Yep, I would bet my paycheck that it will work with no problem. The manufacturers are always conservative with this and i believe primarily because they do not have the newer cards to test extensively while they are developing a new phone.
When Samsung spec'ed this phone the 400gb sd card was not out in the wild yet so i can understand why..plus since Samsung make their own memory and they don't yet have a 400gb microsd card, why promote a card that you don't yet have? :good:
Gnarly card. Considering it. Though Kinda wanna wait for a price drop.

Get to the Choppa!!!! 400GB
Tested the card today. took 6 ish hours from start to finish. the program wrote to all sectors,. filling the card up then verified all sectors could be read.
Photos show the capacity when it was formatted on the pc and when formatted in the note8.
bought it direct from Amazon. it was sold and shipped by them, which is the only way I would go when purchasing an sd card of any size off amazon.
Awesome

Why would you write the whole card to test it? You just slowed it down.
Sent from my LGV20 using yo Mama's unlocked bootloader.
Happy to explain
Appreciate your enthusiasm in why i do things.
I did that to test each sector to make sure the card was legit.
The card has since been reformatted in the phone and is working normally
I think the price around $300 is not fair, 100-150 $ is ok
Agree!
I think the price of the note 8 is outrageous! And this is my first ever Sammy device, but one has to pay to play as the tired cliche goes... :crying:
Love how these cards are actually 512gb, but they reserve 112gb for bad sectors etc

actually, real capacity of this card is 367 GB only
In March 2016 I bought my Galaxy Note 4 SM-N910C, after spending 4 years with a Samsung Galaxy S3. (great device by the way).
However, one thing I've been missing in Note 4 is the lack of more internal memory. 32Gb is already running low. I've been buying a new Note for a long time, but with 128GB and SD slot. I think of Note 9 ...
I know that many here still have Note 4, as it is a spectacular device even over the years. Is anyone already thinking about migrating to a device with 128GB or more?
It's only about your expectations of your phone. Internal applications couldn't be installed on External Memory (SD Card or OTG Storage), so if you use a lot of applications, you may change your Note 4 instead any phone which has a larger internal capacity.
I've also had a Note 4 since March 2016. (As same as with you. ) I'm OK with its octa-core processor, 515 PPI Quad-HD Screen, external storage (I'm using it with 512 GB Samsung MicroSD, so its 32 GB Internal storage isn't problem for me.), 16 MP quite sharp Camera etc, it is still great phone around many specs. But, its 3 GB RAM (And because of its software, we could use only approx. half of it.) isn't enough anymore. Without reloading, it couldn't keep anything on its virtual memory. Thus, sometimes it may be slow while using Chrome etc. I'm still OK with it but after a few months, at most after a year, I'm not sure about I will say "I'm still OK with it."
Thanks for the answer.
After I returned to Lollipop 5.1.1, a lot of internal memory was left compared to Android 6.0.1.
The sd card is almost full too and I may need to buy a bigger one. I have a 64GB Sandisk.
I'm doing my best not to spend money on a new cell phone now, but it will be the way.

I use 256GB SD card as adoptable storage to increase internal storage
Lollipop does not allow the external card to be used as internal storage and even so, if the memory card becomes corrupt or fails, you lose everything.
You can't even recover what's in the internal storage.
That was once I read it on a forum
It's possible to enable adoptable storage on the Note4 by flashing adoptable_storage_enabler_ashyx.zip .
https://www.google.com/amp/s/forum....patch-adoptable-storage-enabler-t3460478/amp/
https://forum.xda-developers.com/search/thread/3460478?query=Note 4
Theres also possible to partition the external sd card with a rooted Note 4 by use of Link2SD and App2SD. Its been a long time since I did this but I believe one partition is Fat32 and the other ExFat or possibly f2fs. Its best done on Lollipop. You could even make a third partition for 1Gb simulated ram . The simulated ram will reduce the life experience of you external sd and I didn't find much benefit with it anyway. You'll also need an app called Foulder Mount.
