I think it's about time for you to go to the google play store and download
and install a half a dozen of the top rated launchers to see which one you like
best, the top rated ones all have many options for transparency as well as a
lot of other options which we will never find in the stock Touchwiz launcher.
My personal favorite is "Next Launcher 3D" I have been using it for over two
years now and I cannot think of even one feature or option which it does not
have built-into it.
Good luck!

Nova Launcher will do both on unrooted phones.

HTC Sense transparency

Hey boys and girls I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to get transparency on HTC sense, specifically on the bottom navigation bar.
I've been searching around but the only things I could find were non-htc sense home screen managers alternatives.
That's pretty much the only thing that annoys me about sense (the huge Phone and useless "+" button) but I love the 7 screens and the widgets so I wouldn't replace it with an alternative.
Thanks in advance!
To change the "+" button check out the marvelous jpool's thread here-
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=809356
And to make Rosie transparent you'll have to crack open htc resources framework and edit the images inside, if you want post up your framework and ill edit it for you.

If you are on VillainROM12 there are a few themes here
However, I do recall seeing a mod which allows 5 sections on the bar, but I can't remember where it was, I'll have a look and get back to you

[Question] UI test app for Themers?

So, I'm neck deep in my first theme (HoloGlass), and am FINALLY making heads and tails of things, but I had an idea that a quick forum & google search couldn't find: A simple test/dummy app that loads ~94.7% of the standard theme components of the main holo styles, to easily see changes and how the theme looks overall. Something like 4 or 5 pages (hierachy navigation) with the different theme styles, split/stacked action bars, a tab bar, and all the buttons and stuff, some of which open a few dialog / popup menus.
Does anyone know if this exists?
Thanks!
No one? Darn. Oh well.
Maybe I'll make one later.
Welp, I ended up starting this project. Will be posting the apk to the app store in the next week or so

MOD Transparent Navigation Bar Throughout the System

Is there a mod to make the navigation bar transparent or translucent and not black throughout the system or within apps?
Or invert the color of the bar like the LG G3?
http://www.google.com/design/spec/layout/structure.html#structure-system-bars
Oh yeah, Just like mine now. Take a look baby
What mod is that?
Edit: does anyone know if there's a mod for marshmallow?
Nobody?

Only when the rom supports it, right? I tried it and it stayed black

I am on stock marshmellow, although I did buy the Nova prime, that is probably the difference

But.. Does it also work when you're in for instance whatsapp? Could you post some screenshots in some apps? Because it's only transparent on the home screen on my Nexus 6

Unfortunately if the app doesn't allow it, I don't think it's possible
Here is the deal. When you use a launcher that allows transparency, it is only on the home screen. That is because the homescreen is designed to allow the window (of the application) to sit behind the status bar and navigation bar. Windows for other applications do not sit behind these bars. They stop when they meet them. If you actually had a transparent navigation bar and you were in facebook, you would not see the background of the app behind it. You would see dead space, which may be white, grey or black. Not the effect you're looking for.
Conversely, if the app windows DID sit behind these bars, some functionality would be lost. eg. buttons at the bottom of the app would sit behind the navbar. There are apps and mods that can achieve this, such as expanded desktop, but is it really worth losing functionality for this?

That looks pretty inconvenient. What happens when you hit the spacebar? Goes home?

To expand on that a little bit, the notion of having something transparent depends on there actually being something behind it to show through, which really doesn't make much sense.
In fact, the transparent "effect" (at least, on the notification bar at the top) is something done by the application itself, by defining the boundaries of the application to extend above the border of the application window, hence drawing something up outside of the application's area.
The nav bar can't be made transparent in the same manner, but the application developer has the option to set the color.

Status Bar icons merging into a dot, how to fix?

I have several status bar icons (not notifcation icons) that I want always visible, but after a couple, they just turn into one dot and I cant see them unless I swipe down the notification bar. Does anyone have an idea on how to fix this? I'm rooted on LineageOS with Magisk 22.1, but had the same problem on stock. Thanks

I've never seen that. Can you give a screenshot of just before it changes and after?
The dot appears when you have enough notification icons, that can't be all shown at the same time, kinda like a "there's more" indicator.
Sadly the space for notifications is limited to just a few. No way to fix that afaik.
Try this mod:

This will install an app called "Rom Control". Swipe from left to open menu, go to "Miscellaneous" and there is an option called "Show more notification icons". I haven't tried it but this may be what you're looking for.
You guys, he said statusbar icons, not notification icons. To me that means the system icons on the right side.

Yes exactly, I tried that recommendation and it not only didn't work, but after a while it stopped showing my lte signal and moved battery percent to left of battery instead of where I had it on the right, like it randomly switched to demo mode.
I'm fine with the notification icons merging, but not my system icons.

Rom control is for stock, I believe.
I've never seen that many system icons. I might be able to help but I don't know I could even manage to get too many. How many icons before it goes to a dot? 6, 7?
Can you give me a screenshot?

Do you really need all of those system icons? If not, there's an app that you can use to remove some of them with.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
I use it to hide the headphones icon (I can see the wire coming out of my phone I'm looking at it right now and I can hear the music coming from it) and also the alarm clock icon that is there even on weekends when I don't have alarms set. I know I have 3 alarms set for weekdays. I've had them for years. I don't need you to remind me.

I have clock as military time, battery percentage shown, LTE bars and icon, and it only takes 2 more for it to merge. And of course I know I can hide system icons? I want them. That's the problem. Android doesn't but I do.

There's probably no way to do it.
Let the notifications fill until you get a dot there.
That blank space is where sensors are.
