[ADT1] [REF] Google ADT-1 Stock OTA URLs - Google Chromecast

Introduction:
This is the information thread for all known OTA's for Google ADT-1
There is no dedicated subforum for the ADT-1, and as there are already other ADT-1 threads in this subforum: I figured I would post this here.

FAQ:
How to find the ota?
If you're rooted, wait for the device to prompt you to update, then check /cache for the file
If you're not rooted, wait until the same time and do an adb logcat and look for a line with .zip in it
Why isn't the latest ota listed?
We can only list what we have, if the ota from Build X to Build Y isn't listed, we dont have the file for it yet.
How do you setup adb/fastboot
Please read the stickies in the general subforum, this is not a formal guide
Do I need to unlock the bootloader to flash the update zip?
No, the ADT-1's bootloader is unlocked by default
Can I flash this if I have a custom rom?
No, you must be on a stock AND unmodified rom
Can I flash this if I'm rooted?
Only if you have not modified any files

Not with otas, they must be sideloaded in recovery like all standard nexus type updates.
Follow the flash instructions for any generic nexus update, paying in mind the differences in controls. (the button on the rear is the equivilent of the physical buttons on a phone)
If you have a factory image (of which none are publically + officially available) for the adt1, then that would be via fastboot.

If someone unrooted could pull the stock /system/etc/install-recovery.sh file and attach it, that would be awesome.

Hi Matt, thanks for your time and work.
But, are you sure that the OTA will gonna work?
the OTA update, work from stock 236...
from 237 stock dont works OTA updates!!
You can use OTA in "about phone" menù. I think that it works.
Matt it would be great if you made a tutorial starting from which steps you took to build the AOSP ROM.
If you want start from this page:
http://source.android.com/source/downloading.html
I would like to add it to my VMWare image thread which I made for new people.
I had a 2.3.7 ROM built but had no working WiFi.

I haven't tried it, but I think that you need the Stock Recovery for the OTA, or am I wrong?
I'm sure just cause it says "Check for update" in the about doesn't actually mean it will update i mean in most ICS roms here its says Update but nothing happens ... i might be wrong tho i guess we'll find out when official ICS comes out =P

Obviously it does. In fact, CyanDelta only make a flashable package, that you have to install manually from recovery. Then, yep.
BTW, now want also to make for you a Touch version of this CWM.

cyandelta installs the zip automatically too, if the recovery supports openrecovery script. TWPR does, and so does the CWM based recovery in CM sources. the original CWM from rom manager does not work properly AFAIK

It could be that CWM from Rom-Manager is out-to-date.
The only way it could not work, is because thi updated CWM still need some merging and commits by the team. Just try and let us know!

About Ubuntu, it's not that simple.
It seems 4X kernel from CM team does not load into the system.
Unfortunately, I cannot debug which is the problem surely: but I'm sure I'll return on it in a week at least. I've some thoughts about how to make it loading and booting next to the kernel!

As I understood CWM Touch is buildable only through clockworkmod-builder, and I'll do it. The only problem is that in that site, the sources are out-to-date, linked to 4.3 branches.
So, we have to wait, till CWM will update the sources linked in the site to build a 6.0.4.4 touch recovery.

Hey.
Just built a new build of CWM, now coded 6.0.4.5.
In this new release, CM team has apported an important fix - as also TWRP team has done - that avoid any issue while flashing some of KitKat based roms.
BTW, made a test build of CM11, gonna test it

[ROM] Unofficial "CM12" 5.0 ROM by @myfluxi

An AOSP ROM with some CM stuff added was posted by @myfluxi in the CM11 thread, and some of the users there requested that it be moved out to a separate thread, so I've created this one until @myfluxi decides to create one himself. I'm very impressed with the ROM/Gapps/kernel/SuperSU combination below but try it yourself and see what you think. :good:
If you are interested in building CM12 yourself @fattire has some instructions in this post.
What you need:
1. ROM
2. Gapps
3. SuperSU
4. Permissive boot.img (also attached to this post)
How to flash:
1. NANDroid backup current ROM
2. TWRP "factory reset"
3. Flash ROM
4. Flash Gapps
5. Flash permissive boot.img
6. Flash SuperSU
7. Reboot and profit
Fixes and Workarounds:
1. Workaround: Gesture typing (swype) with AOSP keyboard causes FC.
2. Workaround: Calendar sync not working for non-Google calendars.
Known Issues:
1. Battery drain in miscellaneous category pending fix from Google.
2. Rotation and accelerator not working.
3. Adaptive brightness not working.
Credits:

Not the way I use my phone.
Battery life is very different depending on apps and kernel installed, signal strength for WiFi and cellular radios, screen on time and brightness, and other factors that vary from user to user.
I don't even try to help users with battery life. They need to read the threads and try the suggestions that make sense for them.

Can you please update OP you do not need to do the 4th step listed, that permissive kernel is not needed, root works out of the box if you flash supersu with fluxis kernel; there is no reason to flash that with fluxi's build.

***Warning***
I am not responsible for the things you choose to do to your device
You are ultimately responsible for what happens with your device
By flashing this you have already voided and sort of warranty for your device
And I am not responsible for bricked devices
There is always a small amount of risk in what we do here...
So please do research and ask questions before things go bad
I will do my best to answer questions
***End of warning***
Please thank scott.hart.bti who is the creator of Beanstalk ROM and the Cyanogenmod Team whose work is the base of this ROM!
**About
Beanstalk is a CM based ROM with a few minor tweaks here and there to make a pretty smooth android experience.
**Install
WIPE (data, cache, and Dalvik)...you aint coming from CM12 so this will have to be a fresh and clean install
Install ROM...download available here
Install GAPPS if you so choose...available here or what ever variation you so choose
OPTIONAL install SuperSU...available here. (there is a slight bug where it may not install on its own)
OPTIONAL wipe chaches before reboot
Reboot
Enjoy!
**Download
Jan 31, 2015 here
**Change Log
Jan 31, 2015 - Initial build
**Known Issues
SuperSU is supposed to install after the ROM installs by default...for the KF2 it seems a little buggy. If thats the case you can flash after 1st boot.
Overall the system seems a little choppy not super smooth yet.
I'll get some screen shots up sometime...so there is none at the moment.
Lollipop at LAST!

Your into says: "Please thank scott.hart.bti who is the creator of Beanstalk ROM and the Cyanogenmod Team whose work is the base of this ROM!" First, thank you scott.hart.bte and Cyanogenmod Team for all of your work, as well as you Obsolete1. Question: I have a STOCK KF2d Gen. I assume I will need to root first, then set up twrp, 2nd bootloader and other files as though I'm loading Otter2's android 4.4.4? I also assume I pick up with your Lolipop rom, gapps and SU at the same point in the process where I would be installing CM11.0 + 3.0.50 Kernel for Kindle Fire 2 and the gapps for it? Are my assumptions correct? Thank you again for your work on this project.
First root access then use fastboot to flash boot.img recovery 2nd bootloader then you upgrade twrp to 2.6.3.1 then you can flash this rom just don't flash anything from cm 11
Works for me. Thanks for the additional info because I would have missed the twrp upgrade to 2.6.3.1.

Yes and no....busy home life at the moment plus I'm in to process of chaning distros so things are kind of a mess. This is my "other" project that does not get as much attention. My phone which runs the same thing gets more attention because I use it everyday unlike my KF. Give me a couple more days and I should have another build.
Again sorry for not responding, I didnt get any notifications that there where posts here I assumed most people had moved on so it went to way "back-burner" on the things to do. But now that I see some interest I will try to make it a little more important. Thanks again for the interest. :good:

Yes and no....busy home life at the moment plus I'm in to process of chaning distros so things are kind of a mess. This is my "other" project that does not get as much attention. My phone which runs the same thing gets more attention because I use it everyday unlike my KF. Give me a couple more days and I should have another build.
Again sorry for not responding, I didnt get any notifications that there where posts here I assumed most people had moved on so it went to way "back-burner" on the things to do. But now that I see some interest I will try to make it a little more important. Thanks again for the interest. :good:

Thanks a lot for this, will definitely take a look when I have some free time... :good:
Great work man. My SuperSU is not opening up and after it freezes the whole system starts to force close, I already reinstalled it using TWRP but no luck, I updated to the latest version using an apk I downloaded but it still won't open up and.
Can you help me root it?
Also very excited about lollipop for KF2! Let me know if I can test anything.

I have TWRP on there, can't I just download the rom, reboot into twrp, wipe properly and install?

Yes if you have the minimum required version to install Lollipop. Because you already have CM installed it means you already have performed all the necessary bootstrap tricks.

[MOD] 70-72Hz Display Mod for OnePlus6

70-72Hz Mod for OnePlus 6!
So here it is guys! Our own Display OC mod! Ever since Mi9 got one I really wanted to make one for OP6 too and after many sleepless nights and compiling various things, here it is! Let's talk about couple of things, is it safe? Mi9 users and K20 Pro users have a similar mod and they reported no screen damage so far. I will be testing this mod 24/7 and report how it affects my screen. I also used lower values just because 75Hz seemed bit unstable so this mod is pretty safe I'd say. 70Hz runs really.. well. Smoothly! Can You notice the difference? Yes! Shocking how much difference there is in 10Hz. Battery life? Probably no impact at all since the OC is pretty small.
Can I flash it on 6T, santoni, vince, my new mt6580 phone?? No! Even though it won't brick Your phone, it simply won't work.
Compatibility? Most likely all Pie roms, maybe even without root.
How to Install:
Windows Users:
Extract the zip somewhere.
Reboot to fastboot and plug Your phone in.
Double tap on 70hz_recommended_flasher_windows.bat (Don't run it as admin)
Wait till it finishes flashing.
Reboot and enjoy!

Interesting. How to uninstall if something goes wrong?
And therefore, when do we need to flash it again? After every ROM update?

Thanks. Does it modify the vendor partition or the system one? I'm wondering for custom roms udpates.

It modifies dtbo partition. So custom roms most likely won't ever touch this partition. Stock OTAs will though.
i installed it and it works............thank you
nice one

If Your TWRP supports dtbo flashing then sure. But if it doesn't then fastboot is the only option I guess.
I feel like I'm gonna get a speeding ticket on my way back home after I finish doing groceries. I need to flash this ASAP. ?
