I can't find my build prop under root explorer it's not where it used to be on my old LG g2 could someone point me in the right direction because I want to change that LCD density thank you
It in system folder
NOTE 4
Start at the root directory in Root Explorer, click system, you'll see build.prop
Or download buildprop editor from playstore to make it easier

Just download build prop editor from play store, it may be a pay app, but well worth it.

yes you are right but slight change. He makes a custom rom so he need to change it before cooking his rom i.e before compiling the files into a .zip file. But the file would be the same i.e. build.prop

Hi All,
I have an Australian Wifi Xoom - i recently GEDified it and updated it to the latest US ICS build.
One thing I miss from when i had the stock OS that came with my Xoom is the File explorer.
will it be possible for someone to upload the Apk for it? My device has not been rooted as i want to keep it as stock as possible.
Astro file explorer... I use that... its great.

I know this is old but I've tried it. I made a backup of the File Manager from my Xoom with stock honeycomb and installed it on 4.1 and it crashes.

I've tried Astro but have been using File Manager HD for a while and I like it for its simplicity. It can be used on rooted or non-rooted devices (just look at the settings menu for root capabilities).
How to modify the DPI on the LG Optimus L5
If you find, just like me that the default DPI on an LG L5 is a little large (for example the huge notification bar at the top of the screen), then this might help you get a better experience.
Requirements
Rooted device
File manager that allows you to remount a filesystem
Things to know before you start
If you decrease the DPI on your device, everything on the screen will get smaller. Since that is what we want it shouldn't be a problem, were it not that LG has fixed the size of a number of items, most noticeably:
The lock screen
The stock keyboard
If you are currently running a custom rom with a non-LG lockscreen and keyboard, you don't need to install anything. If you are on a rooted stock rom, I advise you to install a different lock screen and keyboard before you start.
OK, you're still reading so you are probably ready to start. This is how to do it:
Open your favourite file manager and re-mount the /system filesystem rw
Use your favourite file editor to edit /system/build.prop
Lookup the line containing lcd_density=160 and change the value to 140 (or if you have really good eyes, you might go as low as 120).
Save the file
Reboot
Since the resolution of the L5's screen is not so high, a DPI of lower than 120 will probably make text unreadable.
You can also install 'pimp my rom' from google play and then 'change density'.

Actually, using Pimp my Rom is better, since it doesn't require direct file editing! Good one!

Even Rom Toolbox should do it ... Does anyone know how to do it?
thank u :victory:
i have a few questions which after a lot of browsing also i cannot understand..
1) you know, all that stuff like v6 supercharger adrenaline, activo speeder and so on, what is the difference b/w all of these? which ones should i flash? and suppose it is already there in my rom how do i know about it? many people give different answers but im using blackdroid rom so along with that if anyone knows anything?
2) I recently found a rom whose font i really liked. if i wish to add that font in my current rom how do i do that? please keep it simple because i couldnt understand anything in other threads.
(PS to use font changer root do i need to extract the font from the rom?if so how?)
THANKS!!
v6 is available for just a few ROMs and setting it up isn't easy for novice users. If you have adrenaline engine, you can't flash anything else, because it gives bootloop. Activo is friendly to other scripts, so it's a choice for anybody who has no idea what should give bootloop.
For the font: wait for someone else, because I never change fonts
to change fonts all I do is use root explorer then goto system/fonts then replace DroidSans.ttf (this is the main font used by android) with the font you want to use and make sure you rename it to DroidSans.ttf and set permissions. you can also change all the fonts this way but just make sure you rename them and set permissions.. . do a nandroid backup just incase then reboot.

If you want to know if there are scripts in Rom write to developer
In v1 of BL Rom I didn't add any scripts like this, but in v2 (you can find changelog on my thread) I added some useful
---------
You can also check it by looking in to system > etc > init.d folder

Thanks! i didnt contact you because i thought you wouldnt like such questions...eek
anyway i was planning on using your rom but the launcher isnt working...but im sure you'll figure that out
I an looking to edit the build.prop file and I have no idea on how to edit existing lines as well as add new lines. I've tried searching and I can't seem to find a decent answer.
No offence, but if you have no idea on how to edit the build prop, then you shouldn't edit it at all
That said you should install Build prop editor from play store. It's a free app from JRUMMY.

Editing build.prop is very easy. But to understand it better you should google around for a guide that shows what each line means and what lines can be modified for your device. I also suggest that you don't delete any lines depending on your rom and instead add any tweaks you may want.
