so i am looking for a 2nd battery that i can charge externally meaning not on the phone but like a second charger source other than a dock help would be appreciative thanks..
I just read somewhere in a forum today that there is a way to charge a battery just by using a usb cable with one end cut off and the wires exposed. You would have to google it to find it (what the post said). Think that is one option along the lines of what you are looking for.
*EDIT: You said something "other than a dock" in the title, so what I posted above wasn't a dock!

You can buy a Motorola battery dock from Amazon.com
http://www.amazon.com/Motorola-8950...1FIG/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1325124341&sr=8-2
I have one and love it! It comes with a standard battery, and it also charges the extended battery.

I bought my BIONIC from CostCo and they threw that in with my purchase (along with a lot of other stuff).
I have dual extended batteries (best $50 I ever spent) and I charge on in that dock while the other is in my phone.
Yeah I already have standard dock but it doesnt charge batteries

Get one from ebay. They are cheap but does the job. Buy 2 just incase one breaks. If you want to go expensive way, get the OEM which comes with spare battery for around $40-$50. I have both but on ebay one, pins need to be set every time you insert the battery which is kind of pain. Also OEM charges little faster. As I said, even the cheap ebay ones will do the job.

Haven't posted enough to be able to provide a link, but go to amazon and search for: Motorola Battery Only Charger for BF, HF, BW, and HW Series Batteries
Bought one today at Verizon and it works well. And came with a oem battery.
Took 4 hours to charge the extended battery I also bought at the same time.

I have been using it for over a month. Works great, no issues.

I just got this and already like it. It gets a bit warm while charging then turns off when it senses the phone isn't drawing anymore current. Works just fine with the Dual Pro case.
I have also had for about a month and love it. First wireless charging experience.
Fwiw I don't use a case on the G2.
Plenty of post on it. But I have a pair and love it. 3 charging coils works great. No issues with the g2 or n7 or my n4.

Do you have the VS980? Verizon's G2 is the only one with built in Qi charging.

Thanks I was just reading on that .... I have a D800 that explains it
After 1month, I finally noticed that the tylt charger does not fully charge the phone like the wall charger. My hypothesis is that it stop charging once it reaches 100% whereas the wall charger continues charging it.
Battery life isn't as good when charged using the tylt vs the factory supplied.

of the phone or the charger?
As i said..i went to verizon thinking i needed a phone replacement...but they put it on a wireless charger and it worked fine. But on the other hand it seems odd that something is wrong with my tylt charger because, as i said, it works fine with my nexus 5 and 7
Must be a phone issue or isolated tylt issue,
We have 2 g2s in the house and the tylt i think is the best wireless charger on the market.

Battery monitor widget. It's free and shows the current charge in mAh and graphic. Note that the phone charges faster when on low battery and than slows down. Anything over 900 mAh is a good charger

Not sure if there's something specific you need to do but I bought a brand new techmatte wireless charger. The reviews were all great and I got. From Amazon. I tried it with my g2 and nothing. No matter how much I adjusted it it wouldn't work. The charger lit up when plugged in the wall but the phone didn't charge and the charger didn't show that it recognized a phone on it. I already filed a return since I just got it today but if anyone has any ideas and it works I can cancel the return thanks.
Ps. There's a video on YouTube of it working with other phones so maybe my phone is the issue???

I would suggest the wcp-300. That's the one that i have and it works quite well. I have noticed that if i have my tpu case on the phone it charges a bit slower. So, if you have it in a case, try removing it.

the last bit of advice I can think of for the time being is that the Qi receiver for the phone is on the lower half of the phone. Sometimes I have to position it just so until it registers. Best of luck other than that with your new charger.
If this is anything like the PowerBot Qi charger I got from Amazon, you need to use the supplied cable. I tried to use what I had plugged into my computer at the time and it didn't quite fit right and was very loose so it wouldn't properly power up my Qi charger.

I contacted them and they told me "it isn't compatible with the g2" and they have a different version called the techmatte pod or something like that that works on the g2, but that makes no sense considering qi charging is universal. I'm not sure if I wanna try buying that one or not

As far as I concerned, if it's truly a Qi charger it should work. Maybe you have a faulty unit and they don't have to eat the cost? I'd just return it and get another product. This is what I got:
http://www.amazon.com/PowerBot®-Ind...F8&qid=1398696518&sr=8-2&keywords=powerbot+qi
This works for my two LG G2 VS980 and my Galaxy Nexus 7 (2013). Make sure you use the supplied cable or you'll have a loose connection.

My understanding is not yet at least. I'd check the likes of Amazon if you want the power pack micro. I don't think they have a turbo charger with UK plug yet (unless one comes with the Nexus 6). Any Qualcom fast-charge charger should work the same.

A couple of weeks ago I asked Motorola Europe when the charger would be available, no idea, didn't know what it was.
Lmao how useful of them. Anyone have any alternative small battery packs preferably with a built in wire tjat would either go on your car keys or small enough to be in your pocket without much bulk?
