Cheers dude ... I did look at that a bit ago when I was trying to find it but I want the actual stock if poss from HTC. My current software version is 1.29.401.13, is that an OTA or is that the version of an RUU I need? I looked on the HTCDev site but I couldn't find anything under my operator but then I don't know if I can just flash a generic UK RUU or Europe or what lol, bit more to it on this phone than on my previous Xperia Ray.
The one listed should be fine m8, just know that you can't relock your phone properly.
the one i downloaded to keep for my sim free UK is RUU_M7_UL_JB_50_HTC_Europe_1.28.401.7_Radio_4A.13. 3231.27_10.31.1131.05_release_310878_signed.exe from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=39588860
restore that and it should prompt to update to whatever the latest version is once you boot up
Cheers guys, I'll download the suggested files and have a butchers lol

Hi I have been following this thread, I read the instructions and it says you have to fastboot oem lock and then flash the RUU.
When you have gone through this process do you have to go through the process of unlocking the device via HTC id token again should you want to unlock, root and flash a recovery?

Any idea what one I need mate or is it not available? Tbh, I did try and restore using all the Europe versions on the link and I always got an error telling me it wasn't the correct RUU ... Why is it so hard to restore a One compared to say, Sony. When I had an Xperia Ray it was so easy to do, software direct from Sony to restore to stock, yet HTC have nothing simple when it comes to restoring ... It's blagging my head just trying to find any files to go back to stock.

HTC have never publicly released their RUUs, no idea why. You will need to use mike1986's 'stock' ROM to go back to stock or use one of the Nandroids posted in the Nandroid/RUU thread which is 1.29.401.13 or higher
Cheers for all the help guys, I think I'll just leave it unrooted and stock, at least until there is a stock RUU that is the same as the version I'm currently on, I could use the one from Android Revolution but correct me if I'm wrong but isn't that the leaked 4.2.2 whereas I want an RUU for my curren version but if it's not available then I'll just wait and hope it appears at some point ... Maybe I'll take the plunge then when I have all the bits I need lol.

I am in the same boat as you.. My rom is also 1.29.401.13 and i can not find the RUU for it.. So someone correct me if I am wring please.
From what I understand is that in order to use the RUU , you must have the same 1.29.401.13 RUU for this 1.29.401.13.. if you have any other RUU it will not work.. is this correct?
so if there is no 1.29.401.13 out.. then is it only to just use the android revolution 10.1 rom or the stock rom .4.2.2 ?
thanks for anyone who will clarify this .. as I am really lost

You have to have 1.29.401.13 or higher, e.g. 1.29.401.16 would work if available, same for 2.17.401.1

Are you sure you flashed the Sprint version of Viper One, you cant just use the GSM version, the partition layouts are different.

You have no choice, you have to use CDMA rom's, GSM rom's wont work, you also need to make sure your using the correct recovery for flashing it, usually mentioned in the OP of the rom, I think viper one needs TWRP, again you need to make sure its the Sprint version of TWRP, worries me a bit that youve been flashing firmware though, especially if it was GSM firmware and was successful, you could of messed up the partitions.
Im just trying to find the link on how to convert a CDMA phone to GSM.

I have the last twrp, and on viper it lets you select beetwen sprint or gsm, if im using a gsm sim or sprint, this phone was used before on gsm, they told me that, that i just have to flash viper and select gsm to get the gsm to work out and get 4G or H+, and i do that and it gives the thing that i posted, but flashing the firmware did not work out, dont know why, and RUU also did not, so i dont know, what does the htc logo mean after the lockscreen?
so you saying that if i select the sprint mark on viper it should work out? i thik ive done that, but i can try it again, the other rom i flashed frrom the sprint forum, was more stock to the ruu, even had the sprint boot animation logo, and it happen the same thing, the htc logo after lockscreen, so im assuming if something else, but i dont know what is it
i searched for s-on and someone had that issue, but i cant convert it to s-off because i cant get into the phone, but what if i flashed the cm11 rom and try to get it to work? im just guessing

The device has Unknown IMEI and Baseband, the HTC logo after unlocking the screen is a sure sign. Unfortunately if you have flashed the firmware and it didn't fix it it is most likely a hardware problem.
Try flashing CM11 this should solve the lock screen problem and stop the device rebooting. But you will have no cell service. Now go to Settings>About>Phone Identity and check the IMEI
Then Settings>About>Software Information>More and check the baseband. Both are most likely Unknown
Can you post the output of
Code:
fastboot getvar all
please remove the IMEI and Serial number before posting

It's worth trying an RUU or flashing firmware. It could be a corrupt in which case an ruu would fix it.
If the an RUU doesn't work then it's safe to say it's a hardware problem.
Unknown IMEI and Baseband is the cause of the HTC logo being displayed after unlocking the screen yes. Also the device will reboot it's self every 2 to 5 mins and there will be no cell service at all. No mobile or Data signal.
For some reason CM11 allows the device to function normally even with this problem although you will still have no cell service, every thing else should work just fine. WiFi Bluetooth and so on.
So flash CM11 to check IMEI and Baseband, then flash an ruu to return to stock. If the problem persists take it to repair centre :good:

There are a good few RUU's around for Sprint devices but it really depends on your current version main. It doesn't really matter what Rom you have on the device. Do you know your current version main?
