I'm running rooted stock along with xposed, no problems. But a quirky thing, my calculator has voice enabled. How do I disable it?

My battery has been draining drastically because of Google Services and Play, and something called diagnostics wakelock, so I'm planning to upgrade to 4.4.2. but I would like to retain the experience I have with a rooted phone on 4.3. Which apps do you use as substitutes on 4.4.2 for the apps on 4.3 which required root?
For example, which app do you use to block ads, antivirus, which app do you use instead of Titanium Backup, etc.?

Most of the useful apps for this phone in a Google store requires "root" which we don't have. Even whatever apps should work they don't. I installed Nova Launcher and a stock weather widget crashed and disappear from the widget menu. Even a stock browser has stopped working after
the official update.
They screwed everything.

You can't use Titanium backup or an ad blocker(like AdAway), they require root access, as far as launcher. I've been using ADW EX for a long time now, no issues at all for me
I've found nothing that allows me to mod the device like Wanam Exposed module. All of that requires root(Which, unless you've been living under a rock) we don't have on 4.4.2
Just curious to know if any moto x users have tried some of the more popular xposed modules. Is this device aosp enough to expect most, if not all, modules to work properly?
Most of them work. I'm using app settings, gravity box, Halo FloatingWindow, Xprivacy, and adaway without problems.
I use GravityBox, Greenify, Exchange Security Bypass, and AppOps. They all work great.
I gave my Dad this phone and he likes it well enough, but he's seen me do the "Ok Google" on my phone and would like that functionality. He's not interested in rooting or anything advanced, but it seems TouchWiz from Samsung is pretty obstinate about allowing other launchers to work without rooting as I'm learning. The question I have is, would it be possible for him to have "Ok Google" on this phone without rooting? Has anyone gotten this to work? When I attempt to launch the Google Now app, it tells me to go into Settings and Clear Defaults for TouchWiz, but that doesn't seem to change the end result of it not working. From Googling, it appears that one needs to also install the Google Search APK, but I'm confused which version I should get for this 4.4.2. It's from AT&T. Any/all help would be most appreciated.
Hi,
I'm using a S10 (EU) version, i noticed in new one ui you can disable or prevent a lot apps from running in background, but google for some reason i can not prevent goofle server from running in background.
Is there anyway to prevent it from running in background? The main reason is the battery drain with it...
Guess you're referring to Google Play Services. In order to cripple it, without interfering with app dependencies, you'd need to revoke several perms and disable many services/receivers.
This question has probably been asked before but is there a way to remove "everything" Google related? I'm using stock rom. I have MetroPCS.
I know that by removing some Google apps will cause dependency issues but is there any way to do this with no problems whatsoever? Thanks

I have the Metropcs e5 plus and have disabled most Google services. Some apps throw up a notification saying they won't work unless Google play services is enabled, messages, contacts, etc. I've found they generally work fine just disable that notification. Make sure and remove the Google app from being and assist app in settings.
I used to have all Google stuff disabled but right now I'm using Gboard, maps (as a backup to here), the default messages apps and contacts. Mainly I've disabled the Google core spyware apps — play services, framework, search, store, etc.
Most bloat and garbage on this device can be disabled except for a couple Moto apps. I thought about rooting but really wouldn't be gaining much.
Need Magisk To work
Magic gapps works perfect on my moto e 5plus. I simply when not using an app that needs playstore running. I hit module off resart phone. Then go to an app disabler disable device health ,google playstore and google playservices. Everything else is systemlessly disabled. I get no annoying notifications except one on reboot. Also gboard works with all things google disabled. Hope my experience helps you out.
