hi guys,
i have this problem: i can't connect internet from my gear via bluetooth tethering... i have a note 3 with gear manager version 1.7...
if i go in settings (on the gear) to activate internet access in bluetooth settings, i couldn't find this profile!
if i connect to another device, a galaxy s3 with cyanogenmod, the bluetooth tethering is available

Have you tried looking for it under the tethering and portable hotspot setting?

Sorry, totally misread that! On my gear it's. Settings-Bluetooth-little button next to note 3-scroll down that page and there's a tick box for internet access

Bluetooth Tethering issues....

I just got an N7 and really want this to work, the main reason I got it was for navi.
I have a rooted Droid 4 phone on Verizon, when I try to enable the bluetooth via FoxFi it says 'fail to open Bluetooth'. I click 'OK' to clear the dialog box and it appears that Foxfi is hanging at 'Starting Bluetooth'. I tap the box next to it and it says 'Bluetooth DUN on'.
I start PDA Net Tablet on the N7 (also rooted) and when prompted click 'DROID4' and it says 'fail to connect, make sure foxfi Bluetooth mode is enabeled on the phone side. Install foxfi if you haven't already.'
If I don't use Foxfi or PDAnet, I can get my phone and N7 to pair, but the N7 won't tether.
Any tips?
Seems like they really mucked up the networking support in ICS. USB tethering wasn't working for me either. When I dropped into adb to look around, I saw a whole bunch of oem_xxx chains and rules in iptables that I've never seen before. I flushed them all out, then manually entered a generic Masquerade rule and finally got USB tether to work. Maybe something similar is interfering with bluetooth tethering too. I dunno, I never use bluetooth tethering...
Thats way beyond my skills. I'm gonna try BT to another device, try and see if it's the d4 or n7 acting up.
FoxFi's wireless mode works fine, and OpenGarden's Mesh bluetooth tether works fine as well.
Don't know if this would work, but I used the stock tethering under settings. I was able to connect my Nexus 7 to my Droid 4 using Bluetooth. My Droid4 is rooted and it seems to work fine.
Are you on ICS?

Yup, 4.0 and up is ICS.
I've tried every configuration of settings I can think of. BT transfers work fine, but no tethering. And I don't have anything else BT capable to try tethering with.

Here is what I did.
1. Have a rooted Droid 4.
2. Enable Bluetooth on both Nexus 7 and Droid 4.
3. Pair the devices. Forgot how to do this, but I think it is in the setting of both devices.
4. Go into settings on D4. Go to Tethering. Enable Bluetooth tethering.
5. On the Nexus 7, go into settings, click Bluetooth, and choose Droid 4. Bluetooth tethering on Droid 4 should start.
I do all that and it seems to work, I can do BT transfers, phone has internet, bt tethering is checked in phone settings, bt internet is checked in tablet, but for whatever reason the tablet doesn't have a network connection.

Did you find a solution to this as I have the same issue tethering from a HTC One to 2 different tablets. One running ICS 4.0.4 and the other on Jellybean 4.1.1. They pair up no problem and transfer files but no internet connection.
I got bluetooth tethering to work with OpenGarden. IIRC, it stopped working after an update to one of my devices. Now I just use foxfi wifi when I need to tether, Haven't tried bluetooth in a while.

This is interesting on 4.2 bluetooth

Before when I went to bluetooth and connect to my phone to tether my tablet by bluetooth. I just had to click on my phone in the list of devices and it would automatically would connect. Now I have to go into the device settings and check of internet access.
Is there a way I can set that up as an icon to just click on instead of having to go through 2 or 3 menus to connect to my phone via bluetooth?
Just wondering, if not no big deal.

[Q] Enable internet access reconnect

I was wondering if it was possible on NULL 21.1 to enable the gear to use the Bluetooth for internet access automatically upon reconnect.

Yep, you can use Tasker and Bluetooth autoconnect app. There are some example posts in this forum

It's pretty simple to just add the Bluetooth tether widget and then you can connect with one click.

Wifi notifications not working

I have an Active 2, Wifi version SM-R820 paired with a Huawei P40 pro. Remote connection in Galaxy Wearable is on and the samsung account is logged in.
But if connected to wifi only, as standalone, there are no notifications.
With BT everything is working almost fine, because sometimes I found the watch disconnected from BT, I have to open the Galaxy Wearable app and after it connects automatically.
Any ideas?
Problem solved.
I have to unckeck "manage automatically" from Settings - Battery - App launch the apps:
Galaxy wearable, Samsung accessory service, Galaxy active 2 plugin, Samsung Health.
I have a Galaxy watch 3 SM-R840 and when I connect it to wifi I can't download or update anything, I reset it to zero and it remains the same, any ideas please

What do you mean by "download or update anything"?
In remote connection mode you can only receive notifications and use the Find watch and phone functions.

I mean When I am connected to the phone and I connect to the wifi I cannot download or update anything, it only works with bluetooth, before I could

That's the way it's been designed, I think. WiFi on the watch is only meant to connect to your phone "remotely", when Bluetooth connection fails. In the remote connection mode you only can receive notifications and use some basic stuff like Find my watch etc. Open your Galaxy Wearable app on your phone when the watch is connected through WiFi and you'll see most functionality is greyed out.
Solved, I tried it with another wifi network and it works perfect, thanks !!!!!
