[Q] Sprint HTC One M8 Sim unlock Help - Sprint HTC One (M8)

Hello Everyone,
I apologize if Im double posting this, but I could not find an appropriate spot..
I've currently hit a concrete wall,
my Sprint M8 is rooted, S-off (through Sunshine) and unlocked (so says my HBOOT screen)
Currently on a Sense Based rom, 4.4.2
I've tried putting in my T-mobile Sim card, but no luck or any signal.. I've tried doing the HTCOdam.apk or what ever and did not seem to have very much luck.. Ive tried switching my network to GSM instead of CDMA/LTE, not luck there either. All I'm reading is that I need to complete a "sim unlock" and my phone should start grabbing signal.. reaching out for help
does any one have some advice for me? much appreciated

I believe the Sprint HTC one m8 is CDMA only compatible. Witch means you can't even if you Sim unlock .

It can be used on an international carrier but not another domestic carrier (like T-Mobile).

AT&T in the UK

Hi there guys, was wondering if I was to purchase an AT&T HTC One 64gb developers edition from the US to use in the UK would it work with my UK t-mobile sim or would I need to root the phone?
Also how easy is it to root the htc one, I rooted my htc sensation is it easier than that??
Thanks
I 'think' that if you r00t it you will unlock it also, I might be wrong though and I can't remember if that's right or not.
Look up on 'debranding', to see if rooting will help you on that.

For a rooting guide see here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2265618
Thx for the speedy reply, yeah dont mind rooting the device but just wanted to be sure that that would actually work on a US AT&T version of the htc one in the UK with a t-mobile sim? Has anyone already tried this?
thanks
Nonononono. Rooting does not SIM unlock your phone. Unlocking your bootloader does not SIM unlock your phone. SIM unlocking your phone, however, does.
If you purchase the AT&T model from AT&T, you will be SIM locked and will either A) have to sweet talk them into unlocking it or B) Pay someone to unlock it(there's a great thread of resources for that in the General section). If you purchase the Developers Edition(or any edition) from HTC, it will already be SIM unlocked and should work just fine on any GSM network in the world. There is no AT&T Developers Edition.
EDIT: As far as the difficulty goes, it's pretty easy to root the HTC One. There's a couple of annoying steps you have to repeat before the process is done(i.e. flashing recovery/rebooting several times until it sticks)

I'm pretty sure that you can Sim unlock yourself once you're rooted.
Never done it myself however so might be wrong.

Not on the HTC One, no.
At least, no one has discovered a way to do it. This is XDA we're talking about here, where there's a will there's a hack.
Ah guys, thanks so much for the replies, I'll wait for a developers edition to turn up on ebay. This all came up because I'm tired of waiting for the 64gb version in the UK (if it ever arrives???) and it looks like its cheaper to import from the US (even with import charges).....
I take it the Developer Unlocked Edition just comes with stock android with HTC sense 5 ui???
Thanks again

yes it does;
This special HTC One® Developer Edition comes with: 64GB of onboard memory, SIM unlocked and has an unlocked bootloader. Compatible on these frequencies:
HSPA/WCDMA: 850/1900/2100 MHz
GSM/GPRS/EDGE: 850/900/1800/1900 MHz
LTE: 700/850/AWS/1900 MHz (US)
It doesn't have an unlocked bootloader, it has an unlockable bootloader. Just like every other network version of the phone has apart from AT&T. That is why HTC are selling it. Also a phone can be sim unlocked without the phone being rooted, as it is completely different. Unlocking the bootloader and then rooting it, wont sim unlock the phone, it will just allow the user to run unauthorized roms etc. Also if you got an AT&T phone from them, you wouldn't get OTA's from HTC they would come from AT&T as the CID wouldn't be a HTC one.
OK guys thanks for the replies, but now this is slightly confusing, so just to be crystal clear if I was to purchase a HTC One 64gb Developers edition from the US to the UK, and rooted it and installed my own rom etc, would this work in the UK or would I need to root the phone and sim unlock it aswell, or will rooting the phone do that for me anyway.....apologies for all the questions, just want to be sure as I've on;y ever rooted my HTC Sensation
Thanks again

OK to clarify - the HTC One DEVELOPERS EDITION will work on any UK network without any tinkering/rooting etc as it is SIM unlocked.
Any other USA model will be SIM locked and you will need to pay about £20 to get it unlocked for (UK) SIM cards. This has nothing to do with Rooting or which Rom you use. Stock will be fine.
2/3G should work, 4G won't tho
Great thanks for clearing that up guys
Hi guys, new question about something similar.....just seen a htc one that interests me, but the guy is saying it's AT&T Unlocked and will work in the UK.....is that even possible?
Thanks

That depends, you see, i have an HTC ONE - US international version, but in my country 3G works in 900mhz, and the factory unlocked i have has 850mhz so im stuck without 3G. In England they use 900mhz so i would need one from there, and yours, which is the same as mine only locked to ATT, will not work on 3G in UK, since they are 900mhz. 2G will work there btw.

I am on the verge of purchasing an HTC one which is on the Sprint Carrier and has a bad ESN.

I think the only thing that a Bad ESN will prevent is use on Sprint. As far as SIM unlocking, and GPe ROMs, I don't know much about the process.

No you need an actual GSM phone to effectively do this.

Thank you for the prompt reply. But without being unable to convert it to a GPE and use it on GSM network it will be pointless in me getting it. Can you please ask someone you know?

The phone can be used on gsm you just have to SIM unlock. As far as effectiveness of using gsm will depend on the carrier and which frequencies it uses. Converting is impossible because the official GPE is only gsm and has different partitions. You can however use a GPE Rom

I am actually using a bad ESN sprint M7 and I live in the Caribbean on a gsm network(digicel) No issues so far. I have 4g data speed.
My bootloader is unlocked with H-Boot 1.56, I'm S-off, rooted and TWRP recovery. I'm on the 6th rom I've flashed (Tried CM 11 Nightly, CM 10 Snapshot, Stock Deodexed rooted 4.1.2, 4.4.2, MIUI, Viper Rom) and I've been working on this device for about 48 hours non-stop. I am NEED of assistance if ANYONE can offer it,
Is your device also locked to another account on Sprint with the bad ESN? I've got a Sprint HTC one I've performed the Sim Unlock attempting to use my T-Mobile sim, but it will only allow Emergency Calls. No text, no voice and no data. I've gone into the *#*#4636#*#* service menu and changed the settings to WCDMA, but NO dice. Searched for service and nothing appears, just a blank screen! I've even attempted to change RUIM settings in DFSCDMA Tool. I have changed the radio around about 5 different times with NO fix. I have searched high and low on these forums and haven't found anyone that can help me.

Is there a way to use HTC One M7 (Model PN07200) on T-Mobile or AT&T?

Hi Everyone!
My nephew has a HTC One M7 (Model: PN07200) and I believe is for Sprint carrier. However it has a SIM slot, so I was wondering if it possible to unlock it and use a T-Mobile or AT&T SIM card with it?
I always thought CDMA phones had no SIM card, so that's why I wonder if it possible. Maybe installing a T-Mobile radio? Is it even possible to use it with other carriers?
I've searched online, but haven't found any way to do it. Can anyone point me to the right direction?
Thanks!

Getting a GSM carrier phone sim unlocked to use verizon?

Ive seen that using a Verizon phone makes flashing/rooting difficult. But i have the reverse problem and I cant see to find any answers.
I have an international HTC One M7, CID tmob101, it is from germany.
I live in the US, my normal carrier is verizon, and i would like to take my current sim card (verizon) and use it in my HTC.
I have already unlocked it if that helps, some input on to if its even possible would be nice.
Cheers

How to make sure if I have EVO LTE phone or normal M8 phone?

Hello,
I am struggling for hours now, i got this mobile phone for free in the netherlands as it was found on the street and the owner was informed about it. He didn´t in the legally time period so now I own this phone. If i connect it to my chromebook it says ¨EVO 4G LTE¨ But actually it is a HTC one M8. Can I conclude it is a SPRINT one M8? I am new to this and I am already surprised how far I got to getting my dutch T-mobile SIM Card to work.. To get to this I THINK.... that I need to do a sim unlock (if it is SPRINT) Help me out guys please!
Some extra information: The phone is bootloader unlocked, S-Off and Super CID. The old CID was VODAPE17. I Run the Viper One M8 6.1.0 ROM. I still cannot acces my T-mobile NL network. ¨Your sim card is unable to connect to this network¨ And my phone is still saying ¨Limited service¨
Thankssss.
Rob
