[Solved]Wiped complete system rom, no os is installed. - LG Optimus L90

OK people i won't talk much, i by mistake in twrp went to wipe then advance wipe and selected everything in there (including system)( i got a 158 mb update to v10d software i did that but it kinda failed cuz it rebooted once and got to twrp and stayed on it forever all other reboots take me to twrp and nothing else and then i wiped everything after trying many times cuz i was mad ).
SO yeah now there's no os installed in it.
BTW i have l90 D410 the dual sim version v10c software rooted and unlocked bootloader with guides from XDA only.
To fix myself i tried downloading CM 11 and tried flashing the zip from twrp at first i got w7ds error telling my device is not w7, so i searched a bit and got something which said change updater script and edit "w7" to "w7ds" in the first few lines. So i did that and tried to flash again but then i got MD5 does not match
WHAT should i do?
ATM im just stuck on twrp with no os installed in my l90 or say i have a completely wiped l90 with twrp recovery and a sd card (8 gb) and when trying to reboot twrp says your device doesnt look rooted install supersu to root it (obviously swiping to install dont work), other twrp functions are working good.
HELP PLSsssss most appreciated.

Did you try installing stock rom with kdz files using guides to be found on L90 general (I think) section?

What thread did you get your recovery from, @Quarx CM11? There is an option in TWRP on the page that's displayed right after selecting files to install, "Zip file signature verification". Make sure it's unchecked. Unchecking that option should bypass the MD5 verification and allow the installation. Unfortunately, you may have to continue with editing the updater-script on new installs.
I'll speak with @shoxxy and @Quarx about creating recoveries for the dual sim devices so that we can prevent this error from happening anymore. This will mean that there will eventually be 2 different sets of recoveries available for the L90. One set for dual-sim devices, and one set for single sim devices. By recovery set, I mean all available recoveries, CWM, TWRP, and Philz-Touch.
The reason for TWRP not installing SuperSU to root the OS is because there is no OS to root.

i believe i got twrp from google (damn) , by md5 verification you mean that zip file verification should have a cross infront of it or not? well w/e it is i tried in both ways (having cross and not having one) but it checks for md5 both times, maybe because i dont have twrp from quarx thread.
Can i update my twrp to quarx's one? if so how pls tell, would be much helpfull.
EDIT : atm i have downloaded few files that might be needed to unbrick(stock kdz file, cm11 28/10 build, twrp image from quarx) on my pc

you said that u updated ur device to 10d..
Thats d problem.....
If u updated ur phone without stock recovery..
It will struck at twrp..
If u try to flash roms..
but still u'll struck at twrp (It happens to me tooo)
After rebooting the phone is directly enter into recovery mode to flash new update ..
I don't know where the update file and script stored but until its updated its still struck at the same twrp..
if u remove cache/delvik cache/data/system..
But still its trying to update phone by entering into recovery mode.......
So,
Only one solution to this.
Flash kdz file using offline method.
Here's link to thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-l90/general/guide-flash-stock-kdz-offline-lg-l90-t2803479
but after flashing kdz 10C.
It'll automatically update to 10d (Don't panic at this)..

the problem here is that my phone was not in usb debugging mode before brick and i spent 6-7 hrs figuring out how to get my device detected, but it never got detected in my pc.
BTW my prob for now is solved since my phone is running cm11 very well, its true that i lost some good functionality like knock on, qslide apps, quick window software, etc. but at least it has an os to boot into now.

hey brother same problem here. after flashinf L-touch rom on my galaxy S duos (gt-s7562) i got stuck in boot screen, nothing is going after it.
then i tried installing flashable twrp recovery from cwm recovery, and then followed the procedure to install L-touch rom. but when i reboot my device it says " no os installed" and asks me to install superuser. ( i think my os and my root access are gone now).
please hepl me out brother.
thanks and regards,
dhaval

You need to download the firmware (around 900mb) not cm ROM (300mb)
Sent from my GT-I9192 using XDA Free mobile app

i have found out how to fix this what you need to do is first flash a rom zip file get your stock recovery image for your device and flash it via twrp select install than install image find your stock recovery image then flash it then it will boot to the previous rom you tried to install then you can reflash twrp and all good

[Q] [20a] stuck in cwm bootloop after installing 20b update

Hi,
i am stuck in a bootloop.
i have an unlocked bootloader and had CM10.1 previously.
i then went back to an old 20a backup i made some month ago.
that worked fine.
my phone downloaded an update to 20b then, and i installed it.
after that i am stuck in a bootloop now. normal booting gives me cwm.
i am not able to turn the phone off and charge it, as mentioned somewhere else, to clear the "boot to recovery" flag.
someone knows a way to clear this flag?
Its not important for me if i run stock or CM, but even when i install my CM backup now it still boots into recovery.
holding <down> while rebooting gives me "S/W Upgrade - Please wait while upgrading".
it seems the 20b update is still present and trying to boot into stock recovery, resulting in cwm getting loaded everytime.
(cwm works fine, i can upload a zip and execute it)
greetings

i had the same, if you want to install ota updates you should have the "original" recovery.
i flashed it back to stock with LG .kdz flasher. if i remember correct flashing a backup from sd card won't slove this problem.

hm, i remember having the same problem while installing CM. there was something i did to interrupt the loop, and yes, i think the original LG suite or kdz was involved. but i should not need to reflash the original rom.. its just a flag, i should be able to clear it with sideload/zip/button combination.
[edit] maybe i wasnt clear about that: i dont need the 20b upgrade, i would love to cancel the update process, if that makes my phone boot again.

sorry but i can't help you with the flag... i solved it by reflashing but i have to admit it's quite drastic.
well..
i will reflash stock i guess.
do you remember which thread/tool/drivers you used to reflash?
i am on win7 and my PC isnt able to load fastboot nor LG mobile usb drivers.
i have them installed but get the yellow warning on both in windows hardware administration page

Easiest way to reflash stock is to force an update using the LGMobile Support Tool. Once your phone is connected (I suggest the S/W Update mode) look for the option somewhere in the upper right menu.
Edit: This will also revert to the stock recovery.

if i recall correctly, the LGMobile Support Tool tool wont recognize my phone, since i have a custom kernel, unlocked bootloader and a custom ROM.
i am trying to flash stock ROM now with kdz updater ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2069723 ), and if this does not work i am going through every method thats there..
total overkill for a working phone thats just too stupid to boot the right option..
@moneyvirus: thx

Not sure about this, but the S/W mode might make a difference here. No harm in trying, right?
well. i was able to install stock 20a with kdz updater and link above.
cwm is gone now ofc, but everything at least works.
in some hours i will be rooted and cwm'ed again, but well... its always the same lesson: never touch a running system.
but maybe here's the wrong place to insist on this wisdom

Have I Bricked my Phone?

I am only just new and have been playing around with this custom rom stuff for a short while now, I have ClockworkMod Recovery v6.0.4.7 on my I9305T. I have tried a few different Roms so far but they don't work. I tried just today "RevolutionaryS5-V3" it obviously went through the installation process but did not boot into it, just came up with the samsung default ( samsung S III GT- I9305T ) logo in white. It disappeared then came back looping that way.
So now I have went into the "Advanced Menu" and then "show log" I don't know if this will help you but, it displayed this:-
ClockworkMod Recovery v6.0.4.7
persist.sys.root_access=1
persist.radio.adb_log_on=1
persist.radio.add_power_save=1
persist.radio.apm_sim_not_pwdn=1

The roms I have downloaded are:- aicp_i9305_lp-10.0-RELEASE-20150708 (this one looped its boot logo), cm-11-20150907-NIGHTLY-i9305 (i have the recovery .img for this), cm-12.1-20150926-NIGHTLY-dogo (i have the recovery .img for this), FlashingDroid_S5_v2.2 and RevolutionaryS5-V3, if these roms are any good for my I9305T, Can anyone give me some advise on what or how to install these roms.

Something went wrong while flashing rom or maybe the rom data is corrupt.
Bootloop means your device fails to boot if system data is corrupt by flashing rom
You had soft brick.
Reboot into recovery and restore the stock rom if you had nandroid backup.

Hey Piyush,
Initially I did try do a Backup using Titanium Backup app, first try I think there wasn't enough room on the internal HDD, so I tried on the external HDD which I thought had done so.. So when I came to this problem, the backup did not work.
Now at first before I rooted the phone. It was done by odin v1.85 and of course it did root. So I know it has superSU, but I can't get onto a stock rom for this phone because of my **** sat internet bandwidth and also a good site to download from. I tried the samsung-update site, but the 2 links don't allow me to finish the download. Do you know of any links that i can download the stock rom for my i9305T my phone was running android v4.3. The link I just stated was for v4.3.
Can you give me some advise on how or what I should do?

Wayne

I'm not sure if you can downgrade from 4.3 to 4.2 or earlier. If the phone was running 4.3 then I'd install 4.3 or 4.4 to get stock recovery back. Then you can install a custom recovery. No need to root your phone for that.
Do you know a link that will take me to a compatible file for my GT-i9305T, I'm just not sure what to look out for. Also would you be able to give me a quick rundown/instructions on how to do this. Will I need odin, and which version will I need. Currently I have v1.85, that's what I used to start off. I really don't wanna brick this phone.

there you'll find the Kitkat DBT for i9305. Will work with your phone as well. In the OP you'll find instruction on how to install this version via odin. Odin is included in the zip.
After that you put your phone into download mode again and flash the preferred recovery via odin. But don't use TWRP 2.8.7.0 from their site. That build is broken and is getting fixed atm. Either use TWRP 2.8.5.0 or latest Philz Touch. If you decide to flash a custom ROM again, make sure you're in the right forum, e.g. i9305

From backup I actually meant if you had cwm and you did a nandroid backup of the stock rom from the recovery itself.
If you are getting bootloop you can easily fix it by restoring the backup.
Search on the net about recovery from soft brick and bootloops.
Nandroid backups can atleast get your device in running condition.
If you have custom recovery backup your rom first then you can flash any desired rom.
One more thing if you had flashed custom rom do not factory reset your device, this may result in soft brick.
Hope that helps!
Is your device booting now??

Yes, I successfully got the phone to boot up and run. I used the I9305XXUFNI3_I9305DBTFNI3_I9305XXUFNI3_HOME.tar file using the odin v3.09 and now it has asked the country and so on..
It was a bit daunting thinking if it was going to brick or fix the phone...
Thanks for your help, time and kindness for the files you gave me.
The next couple of days I will try attempt install Cyanogenmod 11. Will I need to use odin to install the recovery image, just like I did for the I9305XXUFNI3_HOME.tar file?

Yes, you need odin to flash the recovery again. No need to root your phone just to install the recovery, as mentioned. Then you can flash whatever ROM you'd like. One thing - although CM 11 still gets nightlies from time to time there is no maintainer left. He switched devices. If you encounter any issues which might be device related they probably won't get fixed.
Is sending pics on pc still an issue? Sorry, I wasn't online and I forgot to check the thread :/
HI Maultasche, so I have been looking at the" Resurrection-Remix-LP-v5.5.6" rom and have been downloading the files for it, but i am not sure what the "changelog" file is for or what it does. The page - forum . xda-developers.com / galaxy-s3 / development-i9305 / rom-resurrection-remix-4-4-2-kitkat-v5-t2704828 . It tells me I need these Installation Files:- ROM , Gapps & Changelog. Do you know if i can install this Rom using
CWM v6.0.4.7?
Oh, and about the send pic question, I wanted to send you a pic of the odin mode screen from my phone, but the only thing I could see was the "insert image" button. But it wanted me to enter a URL for the picture. Whats the go there?

The change log file only shows what has been fixed and what has changed to previous builds. Nothing you need for the ROM
You only need the ROM, gapps and the recovery. Use the recovery rodman has mentioned in his post.
Insert image button? Via Tapatalk? Don't know what you mean to be honest.

Need to install a ROM without a PC
Hi maultasche, Can you help me with this, I have my wife's phone which is a S3 i9305 as well. The USB connection on the phone has been damaged and so the cable can't be connected. I was wondering if I could still install the ROM without the use of a PC. Can you tell me the best software I could do this with? Also I am not sure the best way to back up the phone, not wanting to root it.
Regards,
Wayne
hi,
what ROM youre talking about? Official firmware? If you have a flashable zip yo could do that with flashfire, flashify, rashr etc. Or via custom recovery. For a custom recovery is no root needed.
As for backups depending on what you want to backup (whole system including data etc. or just apps with apps data). Without root your backup options are kind of limited. You can backup apps and app data via helium but not every app can be backed up using this tool. You could do a back up via adb but not sure how complete such a backup will be. I never did that. Or a backup with a custom recovery again. Might be the easiest way.

I started here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/att...to-root-g870aucu1aoa1-4-4-4-2-7-2015-t3025119
I accidentally flashed the second Kernel first and the then my phone wouldn't boot, just boot-looped to to the recovery, I tried to do a factory reset/wiped, but still had same issue, then I factory reset/wiped and then cleared the cache. Same issue. I have tried updating to stock 5.1.1 roms, 4.4.2 roms, stock rooted roms, I have tried to just about everything I can find online. I either get failures ranging from the following:
I'm trying to get my phone working again by flashing the stock firmware with odin3 (tried 3.9 and 3.10) but it fails every time and gives me the error "SW REV CHECK FAIL : [aboot]Fused 2 > Binary 1" while in download mode..
http://androidforums.com/threads/sm...wnload-recovery-still-work-cant-flash.930762/
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s5/help/sm-g870a-samsung-s5-active-softbricked-t3161137
I have also tried this: http://www.droidviews.com/fix-status-7-error-while-installing-ota-update-or-roms/
since I was getting a status 7 error, but then I got another error after that (error is sideload package)
I can get to Custom OS download function and I can get to the boot recovery.
I honestly don't care if this phone is rooted or not, stock rom or not, but I need to get it back up and running, please help, Samsungs are new to me.
***UPDATE***
I just wanted to let everyone know that after about 30 different files, some through Odin, some through Recovery I finally got one to install and fix my AOS. The file that finally didn't fail to load in Recovery was Here: www androidfilehost com / ?w=search&s=g870a <--Add in the dots and remove the spaces, and make it a secure website.
It was more specifically G870A_OF3_tJ3_OTA.zip, it did fail something at the end of the recovery but it stayed on the screen for less than a second so I didn't see what failed but my phone is working now.
Hopefully one of those files will help someone else out.

I don't know if you've figured out by now, but you can't downgrade from 5.0+ to KitKat.

Hi there, Chosenbc!
I am glad to read, that you figured iout to unbrick your G870A. Now I want to go the same way and downloaded that specific file, you mentioned. I know, how to flash through Odin a tar-File, but how did you flash through recovery that zip-file ? Via ADB ? Or sd-card in recovery ?
Done! (Unbrick)

Worked for me too! Thanks Chosenbc!
BTW, I loaded it using the stock recovery. Took about 4 minutes to load and 2-3 more to boot up. Installs Android 5.1.1
I am having a the same issue. I was on a stock 5.1.1, didn't read that this kernel was for 4.2.2 Now my phone will not boot.
I have tried using ODIN to no success. Keeps failing every time I try to flash Stock Rom. I have tried probably 4 different stock..... Nothing. I have tried what you sugested, no succes. Can someone please help me get my phone out of Limbo..... SM-G870A PLEASE!!!

Im in the same boat. Trying the files from OP first. Hopefully one works. I presume we need to move the OP zip file to the sd card on the phone, and update from recovery mode on the phone?
I just got a SM-G870A from a buddy of mine, he says he made the same mistake as the OP. Tried going from PB3 to NE4. He says he tried Odin flashing system images, kernels, and bootloader.
The system recovery says OC5.
Do I need to walk my flashes up OC5-OF2 - OF2-OF3 - OF3-OJ3 to fix this soft brick??
Thank you Chosenbc!!!!!!!!!!!! after several days (more than 5 weeks) I could unbrick my SM-G870A and this was possible all because of you and who uploaded the working Rom. Thank you, thank you thank you! for making this post!

Getting Nougat onto Samsung GALAXY Tab 8.9 (GT-P7310) running Android 4.0.4

Hello Everyone,
I know this is an old tablet and mine works fine but there are so many apps i cannot run on it because it's so old.
For some reason when I go to recovery (power plus volume down) it only gives me options to install from cache or to install from SD card. My Tab doesn't have an SD card slot and I've tried many different things like putting the Google Apps file in an /sdcard folder but no luck. Maybe I need a better recovery that will allow me to install from OTA USB or from Internal storage, or directly from the PC.
I have never rooted a phone before or unlocked a bootloader, and maybe I'm missing a step, but no matter how many forum posts I check people seem to be able to run it from /sdcard which is simply not working for me.
Please help!
I've got the same issue here, and tried everything, from what you've said you've done to using command lines in adb fastboot, and nothing seem to bring me closer to write on the root of the device. Maybe with both of us asking here someone pops up to bring some light to this.
@saitar
Install the TWRP Recovery 2.8.7.0 or higher.

I don't know if this is still an issue for you, but I went further as nobody seemed to see the post.
I used this TWRP recovery, then flashed the lollipop rom here. But I stopped at the gapps... the only one I was able to flash was this one, but the keyboard isn't showing up. I tried the complete compilation and the flashing failed due to lack of space, although the device was plenty of it...

Thanks for replying. Yes, this is what I found out reading in xda and other forums, as the recovery I mentioned above is the 2.7.1.0, but is there a 2.8 recovery for the Tab 8.9, or should we be able to update the 2.7 to 2.8 without problems? Edit: I noticed in your post signature you got a 3.0 version on your device... how?
@saitar
Here are the link for TWRP https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...ev-testing-twrp-galaxy-tab-8-9-p7310-t3469987
You can update your TWRP with the ZIP file from your existing Recovery or with Odin and the *.Tar file.

You're the man! th tar file didin't work, but I was able to flash the 3.0 TWRP, then flashed the Nougat version and the Gapps. Everything is working fine.
Thanks again!
Nougat update for i957?
Great to see the efforts here, kudos.
A naive question, whether this is going to work on my i957 currently on 4.0.4 ICS? If no, any recommendations for any latest ROM for i957? Being on 4.0.4, a number of apps have started causing issues, support not being available.
If there's another thread I should post on, pls suggest the same.
Thx
Mads

stuck in bootloop, i have no history about what happened before

hi guys, a friend of mine gave e this samsung galaxy tab S2 SM-T715 32GB that is stuck on bootloop, he said nothing about what he has done to it (sadly) all i know is that it's stuck in bootloop and it's impossible to access the recovery... what i've tried so far is this:
- find a TWRP and flash it with odin v3.14, which works but when the tablet reboots it's stuck on bootloop and i can't access the recovery
- find and flash an older version of the TWRP that's for the android 5.1 stock rom, flashed in and worked, though i can't access it after the reboot
- find and flash the latest OFFICIAL rom which works because when i get into the download mode i see "samsung official" on "binary" and not "custom" as it was after the previous tries
if anyone has an idea about what i should do please help me ^^ the tab is still in good condition and would be a waste to throw in the garbage tbh

Might be worth a try to flash several times one after another.
Sometimes I read it helps.

flashed back to back 4 times, nothing changed sadly
Try perhaps with Frija in place of samfirm and perhaps with heimdall (under Linux but also windows I think) in place of Odin.

did you fix yours?
I have the same model and finally fixed(its been > 3hrs so far) mine by formatting ALL partitions in TWRP, then installing 5.0.2.

mine is still up >30 hrs so looking promising. I've been working on it for 8 months or more. Thinking back, looking at the flash in "edl mode" guide . . .
[GUIDE] How to dump and write back the storage on most of Qualcomm devices
This is a generic guide that could be suitable for many Qualcomm based devices, once the phone can be triggered to EDL mode. To make sure this guide will work as expect, following requirements are needed: - Know how to trigger the phone to EDL...

. . maybe this is how I should have done it, but mine was stable in download mode.
In the end this is what I did ymmv.
flash back to 5.0.2stock with heimdall,
flashing twrp3.1.0-1, format internal partitions,
reflash 5.0.2stock, & twrp3.1.0-1.
edit: after 1 day it is rebooting again. groan.
