I'm currently waiting for the release of android 5.0 to begin this, but this project aims to create a ROM that is as close to stock as possible, while still including busybox binaries by @stericson, root, and hopefully (waiting for permission) SuperSU by @chainfire. No UI edits, no framework edits or custom apps (other than those specified), a couple edits to respect a custom recovery, and some device specific stuff to allow it to actually run well. I'm aiming to expand to other devices if this is successful, so stay tuned if you don't have a nexus 5. I'm aiming to have a first version by a week or less after the source drop, but realize that it will still be in fully ALPHA stage then, and I have very little prior ROM building experience so don't sue me if something happens to your device... tell me if you have problems though .
I'll probably upload to a google drive folder, but if anyone has a better idea for keeping it available without posting a link to a site with ads let me know!
I'll also upload to github for source code, but there really isn't going to be many changes.

why would you need to promise them before source is dropped? once source is dropped, youll see roms based on aosp within hours. its a nexus, you dont need to promise roms before source is published. once the factory img appears, you will see roms based on stock as well.
I suppose, I don't see a problem with doing a custom remix of my own though, even if it mirrors a lot of others pretty closely. I might at least be able to throw in some little kernel mods and optimizations specific for the device, though.
Im pretty sure you dont need permission from chainfire to embed supersu in your rom. He clearly states that on his site.
Dear OP ! You got me soo excited !!
I cant believe youre gonna drop a stock 5.0 rom sometime down the road ! I want to shout this incredible news from a mountain top!!

Weird. Such a nice rom and no reaction from community... I'd like to ask, are there any benefits sourced from the fact it is official and you are a part of team? Nice to see you being someone keeping L90 development at high pace
The advantage of being official is that i don't have to waste time compiling it on my old laptop because it's done by build server

Root seems to be broken. When using root app, there is no request for SU perm that pops up

Also, not quite sure how to make apps float when I want them to. Seems to be random..
That's why I'd prefer opening new thread for UNOFFICIAL d415 port
This one is also not compatible with the LG-D415.you have one you van try it. Wont work. One is omething like a7and what you need is like 7sa or some such, not teying it again for the specifics but trust me.

Is that what happened? Wow if i made a mistake i will go back and personally take it back. For what its worth. This was the only recovery i found that downloaded. I really did have a hell of a time fixing this thing and if it was due to my ignorance i will surely own it,

Hi everybody,
Not sure if anyone frequents this anymore but I have started a project set to replace the npe GPS vendor blob of the i9300. This is so that the android/bionic patch will no longer be required and we can push for CM and other official rom support from Lollipop upwards.
The nexus 7 (Grouper) has the same GPS chipset as we do on the i9300 (BCM47511 ) and the blobs are PIE, so a straight swap should be easy.
Turns out not quite the case, I have got it so that the phone can find satellites, a little bit slow, but finds them nonetheless. However I can't get it to fix on them yet.
If people are interested in this project I will post up, what I have done and any logs etc I have gathered. I can't say for sure but I imagine that the solution for the i9300 would be very similar to that of the Samsung Note N7000 as well, if any devs from there are interested.

Hello devs
I'm looking for a script or zip to flash on my I9300 for a ROM where the GPS not working! Is this the solution here?
And how to implement the script you made? I'm not a technical Ingenieur thanks for your kind answer

This is not the solution as it isn't a flashable zip. It also more than likely doesn't contain the relevant code you require. What rom are you using? Perhaps I could help the Dev?
Thanks for quick responding
The 2 ROMs I was using been Dirty Unicorn 5.1 and Validus 5.1 ROM where the GPS not working! I think Andrea Turchet is the developer from both of the ROMs. I asked the Developer for a fix but nothing happened since them. I think they stopped working on DU already since the I9300 comes @ his ages
Maybe you can get in touch with the devs and find a solution?
Thanks in advance
Hi @mcgi5sr2
I'm running the official CM13 nightlies (by @forkbomb444) on my i9300, and I've got a problem with the GPS. I can see satelittes and get a fix, but it drops every minute or two.
I posted about the problem here but I've been trying to investigate further so I wanted to see if I could use older copies of gpsd, gps.exynos4.so and libsecril-client.so to see whether that would "fix" the problem - that idea lead me to this commit which in turn lead me to this thread.
Do you know whether I can easily downgrade these blobs on my i9300 CM13? (I can find them easily enough, but I notice that the filenames have changed - I don't understand the android gps subsystem architecture to know what to do next).
Alternatively (since this is not my daily driver phone), I can install the original haxynox AOSP Rom to see whether this has the same problem.
Any pointers/assistance to help me to investigate this would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you, Jaime
Hi,
I have stopped development, but can relate to the issue you have mentioned. The grouper blobs are even older than the S3 blobs but were PIE and thus functioned on M where PIE blobs were required. They also lacked some of the functionality that native Samsung blobs had built in. All of this was a sacrifice to get GPS working on M. So going back to older blobs won't help. I haven't checked but perhaps newer Grouper blobs if they exist would help.

Unless specifically stated, I would assume it is similar to other AOSP base ROMs. Same motomod functionality, same bugs, etc. See contributors. Same builder as AOSiP is in there. Usually if he fixed something here, he'd fix it in AOSiP as well and vice versa.
Well we all know what happens when we assume things so I ask, never hurt to ask and get confirmation.

Is this going to be happening? Just curious, haven't seen anything since the initial post.
Edit: would really love to see this happen, would mean two solid ROMs for this device!
The link is already coming, after all this rom exists for our device?

I reported some of bugs in the Mokee Pie thread, these two ROMs have the same bugs. I think if it's not your main device, you can use it, otherwise, you should avoid it and wait for Hardrock83 stable ROMs.

Hey everyone. just recently got my hands on this device so figured i would maintain a Rom or two or a kernel or anything to tinker with it. Decided to compile Carbon for now as they've always been a pretty solid ROM. I'll have some pics up of the settings and stuff in abit. I'm not 100% sure if im correct in labelling which version of the grand prime this is as I've never worked with a phone with so many different models for different regions. I have the canadian device (W) and used the gsprimelte device sources.
anyways. Hope you'll enjoy! ill be working on making sure to keep this rom updated as well as add my own personal effort as well such as a bundled custom kernel Ill be working on and various other things to improve performance without sacrificing battery (meaning mainly behind the scenes stuff)
if you have any questions please feel free to ask

I've been debating on coming back to thus device and actually fixing/maintaining my builds as I don't have enough ram to build the latest versions of android for my main device (redmi note 9p). No promises! But I do know why this build had issues with sim card and how to fix it
Work on G531H?
