When you say "it's hanging on in fastboot mode" can you explain further. What exactly is the problem flashing recovery?
Any error messages during flashing or recovery just doesn't load?

Ok so fastboot is working for you to get the getvar. What output do you get when flashing recovery? Can you post a screen of that?
Also you should edit the image so that it doesn't display your imei and serial numbers
Just noticed you have baseband N/A that's not normal. If you have HTC sync installed on your pc uninstall it but leave drivers installed.
Then see this thread to try and reflash your firmware
Link removed:- never mind it was modified firmware and won't work with s-on
---------- Post added at 04:36 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:15 PM ----------
Ok hopefully you can make more sense of this website than I can [emoji12] if it's what I think it is it's the OTA file for 6.13.708.1. You can extract the firmware from this and try to flash it.

Does the phone show up in device manager when connected to the PC.
Either as My HTC or some Unknown device?
Have you tried a different usb cable and/or usb Port?
If you boot the phone to the bootloader in fastboot mode. When you connect the phone does it display "fastboot usb" on the bootloader screen?

You can try to flash the firmware from the OTA zip I linked. Download the ota zip http://pan.baidu.com/s/1ntjxkBf.
Open it on your pc and extract the firmware.zip and put it in the fastboot folder.
Reboot the phone to the bootloader and Connect fastbootusb. Now open your Fastboot command line and type
Code:
fastboot erase cache
fastboot oem lock
fastboot reboot-bootloader
you can skip this if your already locked
Code:
fastboot oem rebootRUU
<--- case sensitive.
The phone will reboot to a black screen with a Silver HTC LOGO. This is RUU mode. Now we're going to flash the firmware.
Code:
fastboot flash zip firmware.zip
The first flash will be short. It's just a preupdate preparing the hboot for the new firmware. So we need to do the same command again.
Code:
fastboot flash zip firmware.zip
The second flash will take a little longer and this time it will flash the full firmware. The progress bar on the phone screen will not reach 100% this is normal as long as the command window has completed its output the flash is done.
Code:
fastboot reboot-bootloader
Now unlock and try to flash recovery.

so the phone doesn't power on at all now? Sounds like your main board has a fault. When you connect it to your pc is it detected as "qhsusb".
You can try holding it under a bright light (focusing the light on the Sensors top left of the phone) then hold Volume down+ power down for 60 secs. But it does sound like a hardware problem with the main board. Which requires HTC Service center. Do you have any warranty on the device?

Hello
First off, thank you in advance. Now to the matter.
My One is completely stuck on bootloader. I tried almost everything but no luck. If i let him do normal boot, it just shows me a black screen and reboots again, over and over. After the update i cannot get acess to fastboot because windows (8.1) tells me that the device is not known. Before the update it was all ok (i had OTA 4.3).
I cannot install a custom recovery, i cannot install anything. Tried to find a RUU.exe for my CID/MID but without luck.
The strange think is that after i update to latest kit kat, i got this (text in red):

I can´t do "fastboot getvar all" because i have no acess to fastboot commands.
The only thing i can do is put he phone to charge and pray to the XDA gurus

Anything you need to help me out, just say so and i´ll try and do my best.

whatever you do don't s-on...
will be easier to recover from.
did you relock your bootloader for any particular reason?
Oh, and don't worry - Win 8 has problems with 'talking' to your device when it's in bootloader mode.
Your phone isn't bricked. Just don't be fiddling about with it until one of the guru's with this type of issue gives you some advice.
If you have another computer or a friend with Windows 7 it won't be hard to fix at all

1- the red OS line, is because your firmware flash didnt go through, whether you did it manually or not.
if you do it manually, you do:
fastboot oem rebootRUU
fastboot flash zip firmware.zip
fastboot flash zip firmware.zip <- yes TWICE, if you don't do it twice you'll get the red OS line
fastboot reboot-bootloader
2- your hboot should work with Win8.1, what does it show up as in device manager? anything like this:
3- or just use an Ubuntu Live USB (no need to install, just use Try Ubuntu)

1. I tried that method before because of the bootloop and did it twice with success. Maybe something went wrong.
2. Thats the strange thing. Hboot 1.55 should indeed work but it doesn´t. And yes, thats exactly what it shows. I tried to enter security mode on win8 and do the unsigned trick, but as soon as i change to modified drivers, my mouse and keyboard stop working, so its a no go.
3. Will test that, but i dont know exactly how to mess good with linux.
And for all of you, thank you for your time. Will update as soon as i find something new.

reflash the firmware, to get it out of "limbo"
sudo fastboot oem rebootRUU

Well where do you want to go?
BTW: i checked your first post (it doesn't say what you want to achieve), but FYI you are S-Off, so no need to LOCK/RELOCK bootloader to flash in ruu mode!!
In aviation terms: "Kindly keep you bootloader unlocked, if you are s-off"
Update 1: Tried to flash TWRP recovery but it tells me "FAILED (remote:not allowed)
So now i am stuck in bootloader because i can´t install a custom recovery.
I want full stock rom.

1- like @nolimit78 said, you will have to unlock bootloader (you shouldnt even have locked it in the first place), can you do that? or do you need alternate methods to do that?

1. I still have the "Unlock:code.bin" from HTCDev, so yes, it is possible.
2. My goal is to get a full stock rom for my CID (VODAP102) so i can go and do the future OTA´s.
My friend HTC one was updating firmware through OTA and turned it off during it
Its stuck now at logo screen
Am a Samsung user and terms like Odin and downloading stock ROM couldn't be found here on HTC.
Am confused as I have read a lot and it seems quite different than Samsung...
I managed to enter to boot loader but recovery isn't running as the device just restart.
The boatloader is locked in red. And formating the device is not solving the issue.
All I need is a site alternative to sammobile to download stock ROM and a program alternative to Odin to flash the mobile back

Are you familiar with FASTBOOT and ADB commands? If you don't have them installed on your PC then use this tool. Once you get them installed and operational, get the phone back into bootloader and attach the USB cable. It should say FASTBOOT USB. Enter this command in the command window: fastboot getvar all Post the information from it to this site but remove the IMEI & Serialno data.
This is a lot different than Samsumg. In some ways it is a lot easier. We need to find out what OS version is installed so we can direct you in the correct direction.
I downloaded Fastboot and ADB commands, here is a screen shot i captured. am not that good with picture editing
what next to do please

This is a lot different than Samsumg. In some ways it is a lot easier. We need to find out what OS version is installed so we can direct you in the correct direction.

this is a dual sim variant of the HTC one (M7CDUG) and unfortunately, its not much supported here. There is no RUU I can found here to restore your phone. (4.21.402.5) only files available are ota update files and can not be used to restore the phone.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2617159
You should try to fastboot erase cache then reboot in recovery mode (volume up then power when you see the triangle with exclamation mark) then in the menu, try to apply the ota again.
You could also unlock your bootloader, flash a custom recovery compatible with dual sim variant and flash a custom rom.
Here is a thread with all the informations/guides/roms for the dual sim variant: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2495697
Pressing volume up and power after going to recovery helped me going to go recovery options just like Samsung recovery
I wiped data and cleared cashed partition too this time
But its still stuck at logo screen
Please am not familiar with how HTC devices run
Is there an easy step by step to how to do next to revive the device

@xferidx just spent an hour typing reply then lost it.
Download the firmware for the phone from the Collection HTC Dual Sim post. It is at paragraph 1.1 HTC One 802w. Rename it firmware.zip and place it in the adb & fastboot folder. Boot into bootloader with the phone connected to the PC. Type in the cmd window:
1. fastboot oem rebootRUU
You should see a silver HTC logo
2. fastboot flash zip firmware.zip
3. fastboot flash zip firmware.zip
Wait until complete in the cmd window, after a few seconds then move on
4. fastboot reboot
Don't know if it will work but it is worth a shot.

@xferidx check the MD5 to see if the file is corrupt. If it doesn't match, then download and try again.
If that didn't work there are a few threads in the General section about your phone. Check there for a RUU or nandroid backup or return to HTC for repair.

How to check MD5?
Also why I can't flash boot the whole OTA update from paragraph 1.1?
What command to use to flash it?
I took my HTC to a guy and asked 200$ to change the motherboard as none knows how to tweak with these commands where I live...

it's not HTC in general it's the duel sim version you have is very rare and little support
The more obscure samsung phones have the same problem
To keep it short. I've bought a used HTC one with CM installed. I wanted to return it to stock and googled it. I found out I needed to run the RUU to completely revert it. My phone looks like this: imgur.com/v74yW6S now and this: imgur.com/A3qTtgU is the getvar all. I downloaded the RUU which corresponds with my cid_num and ran the program. I thought it went well until the program stuck at "checking headers" on 5 percent. And to make it even worse the phone doesn't turn on but returns to the bootloader whatever I do.
How do I fix this?

I guess you are using the 4.x.401.x RUU which is causing problem for many users here. You can use a reset rom instead of a ruu to restore your phone.
unlock your bootloader
flash twrp recovery 2.6.3.3
push and flash this reset rom: http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/guru_reset_m7_2-24-401-1-zip/ using twrp recovery
Select yes when asked to flash stock recovery and radio and select no when asked to root
boot your phone and go through the setup
take all ota updates to latest version
then flash twrp recovery again if your need to root your phone

Download the 3.62.401.1.zip from here http://xda7.androidrevolution.org/db_mirror/Firmware/index.php?dir=HTC/HTC_One/401/ Rename the file " firmware.zip"
And put it in your fastboot folder.
Boot the phone to the bootloader and connect fastboot usb. In the command window type.
Code:
fastboot erase cache
Code:
fastboot oem rebootRUU
Make sure fastboot usb is connected then run this ruu exe on your pc.
http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/ruu_m7_...0-38r-1157-04l_release_353069_signed_2-1-exe/
Then you can unlock and reroot. If you want to update to the latest take the last few ota updates before you root the phone.

Hi All,
I just unlocked the bootloader on my m7 (at&t) and I was following this two guides http://www.android.gs/how-to-install-twrp-recovery-for-the-htc-one/ and http://www.androidegis.com/how-to/how-to-install-twrp-recovery-for-htc-one/ for installing TWRP.
I downloaded the file which is pointed in both tutorials from http://d-h.st/3ST and copied boot.img as indicated to fastboot folder and then ran "fastboot flash recovery boot.img" fom the CMD console. I rebooted the phone, selected recovery and it's stuck in Entering recovery. I guess boot.img is not the correct image.
I also noticed a flag "Tampered" on the top of the boot loader.
Hope you can help me, many thanks in advance,
Nicolas
Edit: It's not rooted, it was the next step to do.
Edit2: I tried once again holding the power button + VolumeUP and the phone is back to life. I wonder if the .img that I loaded is not the correct one. Could you advise and tell me what are the next steps to follow now?
Cheers

It's always better to be s-off, but I would spend some time getting to know the device first.
If you flash something wrong with s-off, you could brick your phone.

Hi guys,
I am feeling quite panicked right now since I flash the wrong firmware (lower version) which leads me to failed RUU "Too many links" and then when i reboot to bootloader it constantly boot into four triangles and unable to fastboot oem rebootRUU at all to reflash and my bootloader are in a messed.
I have the same exact problem as this guy http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2459221 but i don't really understand to solve the problem as i'm not an expertise in this type of problem.
I can still access my phone by manually using "Fastboot oem boot" but other than that i can't power up my phone or boot into bootloader as i have four triangles in each edge of my phone and orange-colored "RUU". I cant flash any rom or firmware or going into my TWRP.
My Phone is S-OFF and Unlocked bootloader.
Here's My partition 19 if needed to solve this issue.
Help me please !

First before sending you the modified misc partition, can you please tell us what you have flashed exactly (provide link) and more info about your devices (fastboot getvar all) or at least your CID, MID, Version number you was on before flashing?
I see in your misc partition that the RUU flag is indeed active.
---------- Post added at 04:39 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:24 PM ----------
however here it is: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/77459918/p19noRUUflag.img
Code:
fastboot oem boot
then copy the file to the root of your sdcard or you can push it using
Code:
adb push p19noRUUflag.img /sdcard
then to restore it to your misc partition
Code:
adb shell
su
dd if=/sdcard/p19noRUUflag.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p19
exit
adb reboot-bootloader
and then flash your RUU.zip and make sure to flash it correctly.
Code:
fastboot oem rebootRUU
fastboot flash zip name_of_ruu.zip
fastboot flash zip name_of_ruu.zip
fastboot reboot
Don't know what ruu you need, if you need help choosing one then post your "fasboot getvar all".
And be very very careful with the "dd" command. If you make a typo, you can brick your phone foor good (writing to the wrong parititon)
IT WORKED !! My Bootloader went back to normal !!! You are a savior and making my day better
Thanks !! Your explanations are really clear and very easy to understand that i able to follow all the steps correctly with ease : )
Well I was using ARHD 71.1 and planning to dirty flash to ARHD 90.0 if possible. Then I was using 5.x.401.x firmware that was used in ARHD 71.1. I have seen that the new ARHD 90.0 are using the latest 7.15.401.1 so i flash to that firmware directly before I plan to install the ROM. And I forgot to place the ROM to the SDCard which then requries me to boot to the O.S in order to access the storage. Then suddenly when i restart my phone, My Phone soft bricked where the phone is stuck at black screen constantly while usually the phone should properly goes to the "HTC One" Phrase and then goes to the O.S but in my case, It first boot into the htc green logo and after a while the screen goes black screen.
I thought the firmware is incompatible with my arhd 71.1 so i downgrade it again 5.x.401.x and then while updating the RUU, I receive "Failed : Too many Links" which quite made my worried so I restart the phone to try if downgrading to the older firmware would fix the issue. But then, the "Four Triangle" issue rise.
I am grateful that you have solve my issue regarding this matter and I cannot be more happier than this that everything went back to normal. Thank You So Much! :good: You are the best !

Now I restart the phone wanting to boot into bootloader fastboot and now i unable to get into the bootlaoder and constantly forced to go into the HTC Green logo screen. And Now It stays on the "Red Triangle Exclamation Mark". What did i do wrong ??

I have tried doing that countinously and the phone wont boot into the bootloader mode in fact it keep restarting normally somehow goes to the HTC Green Logo. Now after continous restart, I able to boot the phone normally into the O.S with Safe Mode. Which Step should I do? to be able to boot into the bootloader.
