After upgrade to latest version of XZ, I found baidu folder in internal memory. Try to delete it and it appear again. Any know which app create that folder and can I uninstall or freeze it?
Many THX.
My Xperia creates it. It also connects to a Baidu server in China. I assume Sony leased server space from Baidu for the service, but I'd rather that a service that has full access to many features of my device and my data such as that only connected to a Sony server and not a third party.
If you have root, just freeze it with Titanium Backup and that prevents it from running and creating the directory.

My Xperia. Sony recently confirmed it's not sending any data though, so it's really nothing to worry about.

I believe he wants you to uninstall updates received for GMail.
Go To Applications in Settings-> Manage Applications->GMail. Beside Force Stop, you will find Uninstall updates, clicking on that should remove updates. I think this is the same screen where you clear the application cache.
You can also try clearing the data.
I have the same model the one I have is China model which does not have anything google installed the only way was to flash the firmware with another stock one to get google stuff.

It is for Xperia Ray, but the procedure is exactly the same on every Xperia phone, excluding the kernel is not nessesary, only if you want to keep your current one. Backup your data before you flash a rom, as I suggest you to wipe data.
In the general section you can find several stock roms. Use the one you prefer.
I'm have problems with the social life app. It used to work fine but when I updated to FW to a Euro generic when ever I try to start the app it asks me to pick my language/country and gives me the T&C's , I accept but then I am sent to the Play store to download Sony Account Manager which it says isn't compatible with my device.
Any ideas how to fix this ?
LOL can't stop laughing at your title.
Anyway, wipe the data settings / apps / social life / clear data. Do a reboot.
If that doesn't work uninstall social life, titanium backup may be needed to remove it.
Then go play store and download it again.

Thanks for the reply, I have tried this several times. Everytime I try to sign up I pick Sony Entertainment Network and it takes me to the Play Store to download Account Manager. I don't use/have a Facebook account. I am trying to think have I removed something from System/Apps that I shouldn't have done.

To my extent of knowledge, it may actually have something to do with that "Account Manager." I remember seeing that on my phone as well but I deleted also, since I do not use SEN.
your best way is to start fresh again if you dont know what you've deleted that may have caused this issue.
1-Back up all your internal files (whatsapp, data counter, messages, etc...) and sync whatever (calenders. task, notes etc...)
2-Repair it through Sony PCC or Sony Update Service, or Flash another FTF file and wipe everything.
3-Download all your apps again and restore them one by one.
Flash German .253 ftf. I had same problem, but the German firmware had this preloaded.

Hey guys,
I have a Sony Xperia Z1 (C6903) rooted and running on CM11.
My problem is that I can't use my SD card as download directory for downloading torrents.
This problem has existed since Kitkat 4.4
Is there any way around this?
Thanks in advance!

Just use search to find the thread in the general section about enabling third party apps to write to the SDcard.
there is also an app in google play that will do it. Again, search is a useful tool to find that.

Could use foldermount or some other apps out there which moves the app to the SD itself.
go play store download Sdcard fix 4.4 first and then go Google search~Directory Bind this app need root use Directory Bind this app to bind your download local

seems to work fine for me, try using flud as a torrent client, has much more options than utorrent
EDIT: Thanks for helping me out all. Flashed another rom, that fixed the weird problems.

I'm running Android 4.3 on my Xperia Z (SuperHanss' excellent Rooted, Deodexed & Zipaligned Stock rom) and when I try to open the following url's, which are Dutch radio shows, I'm unable to load them.
http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/SpijkersMetKoppen/~3/21dFPFdDvl0/411633.mp3
http://radiobox2.omroep.nl/audiofragment/file/146462/fragment.mp3
They use a protected url that transforms when you open it in a web browser, on a pc for instance, but it won't work on my Z. However, it does work on other Android devices, like the Huawei P6 and the Z2, so I'm wondering if this is a problem with the Xperia Z and they way it handles 'protected' url's or if it has something to do with the ROM I'm using.
Can anyone please try to load the shows (please, only try when you're on wi-fi, as the files are several mb's) to see if it works?
Many thanks!

Hello everyone!
After bricking my first XZ after only one week I decided that I'll wait a while till I decide to root my second one hehe
I've noticed that there is a HUGE amount of bloat, so I started to disable a lot of them (the ones that I could ), but I'm getting a little stuck with some of them cos I don't know which one is safe to disable..
Is there a list with the system apps that are safe to disable in stock 4.4.4 no root?
I've searched for it but no luck
Sorry if this is in a wrong section..
Just another question: is it possible to downgrade from 4.4.4 with PC Companion or another official way ? Not a procedure that may brick my phone or loose the warranty?
Thanks!

Flash a custom rom because mostly they have no bloatware because it is removed !
Thank you, but as I've mentioned above, I do not want to root the phone..

I think the system itself know which safe and which not because some of the "not safe to remove" has a grayed out disable button.
TapaTalked from my Xperia™ Z (C660²) running Dirty Unicorns ROM!
I know about that. There are some apps that have the disable option available, but don't know for sure if they are safe or not to. Here are a few examples:
- android.res.overlay
- basic sleep mode apps
- camera extension
- com.android.browser.res.overlay
- com.android.providers.partner... etc.
